In today’s technological world, almost everybody, every day, in one way or another accesses the world wide web upon our fingertips. The technology that allows us to do so is just as important as the water we drink, the food we eat and the homes that shelter us from the outside. We’ve become so attached to it that it's difficult to give up, even for a short period of time. it's become such a problem that students are no longer able to maintain focus on a diverse agenda of daily routines and tasks. Students are finding difficulty staying on task, whether it be their homework, job or even paying attention in class. it affects almost every aspect of their life including how well they do in school. This is why Students should attend at least two hours a day of supervised homework class. Some may argue that a homework class would be time consuming. There's only a limited amount of time in a day and an extra two hour class would indeed be time consuming. However; there are many pros of having a homework class that outweigh the cons. Some students schedules are too busy as it is. Many balance extra-curriculars such as sports and music with a job, school, and social activities. There is just no way that squeezing in an extra class into their already busy schedule would be helpful. But, there is enough time. A homework class would only be acting as a substitute for the time spent at home doing homework! So instead of having set aside time for one's homework later on in the night, they will be given the opportunity to get it done in school. I personally know people that simply cannot sit down with the ambition and motivation to go through the miniscule task of doing their homework. They'd rather spend their valuable time browsing the endless list of funny cat videos, playing video games or going to frat parties than laying out and opening up their textbooks to chapter 6 for last night's homework. a few students don't even have the motivation to even do their homework unless it's utterly necessary and crucial that they do so. instead of studying or preparing weeks before an important exam, he or she would be procrastinating. The test isn't even on their list of important things to do and if it is, then it's all the way at the bottom of their checklist. It's only when the time has come around to where it's days before the test and there are no other options but to sit down and crunch out what should have been done weeks ago. The idea of a supervised homework class would ultimately force students to do their homework without an issue, giving them the motivation and the key to success to get whatever task that has to get done, done. When a person with the right set of mind and in a room without distractions sits down on an empty desk with nothing but the textbooks and notebooks, the goal and intention to work is the only focus there
School days should be shorter fro students because they do not get enough sleep, have to much homework, and have barley have time to participate in extra curricular activities. A majority of students have sleep depravation due to school. If school would either start or end late students will have a greater opportunity to get more sleep. Teachers expect students to pay attention for 90 minutes while the night before they were up late finishing their homework for there classes. Some teachers do not realize that students have a life and work or have other obligations that take up a major portion of the students.

Many students participate in sports that can take up to 4 hours of their time, daily. Homework takes time to do after school and extracurriculars. If a student goes to school at 9:00 and gets out at 4:00, then goes to an after-school activity from 4:00 to 6:00, they will come home and have dinner from about 6:30 to 7:15, which means that they will probably start homework at around 7:30. This means that high school students will be up until about 11:00 finishing their homework, that’s without factoring in how much time the students will waste.

While it is true that longer school days allow teachers to truly get in-depth about a specific subject, the attention spans of teenagers won’t necessarily last that long. Think about it. If you were a student, you wouldn’t want to be stuck in chair, learning the same lesson for two hours. Having a time limit would be much more enjoyable and allow for students to truly focus their attention on the time provided for a subject. Moreover, while it may be true that more homework allows more practice, it also adds more stress on the students.
The reason why I think we should have shorter school days is that you get more free time when you are out of school. School is incredibly important, but you don’t get that much time to play after school. I think school is too long because it takes one fourth of you day away. Another reason is that studies show that people that spend time more with their family don’t get involve with drugs, lying, cheating, and dropping out of school.
Students are already overworked. Students work for seven hours at school without including after school activities. Students who do decide to play sports or join a club would be at the school for up to 10 hours! Already being overworked and adding an extra two hours is unhealthy. Many students want to do well in school but cannot find the extra time to do their work.

Children go to school for seven hours a day, when teachers make them do homework it causes them to get stressed. Furthermore if children understand what they learned at school why do they need to repeat it at home? If children are struggling on a certain subject, teachers should be able to help them directly, not with homework because giving them homework on something they don't know anything about is counterproductive. Instead private tutoring could be something schools provide for failing students and not homework.
Students are bombarded with hours of homework every night and it interferes with their lives. They are tired of staying up late at night to finish their homework or a paper that is due the next day. They should not have this workload that they have every night because they also have to live their childhood. Life is too short to be staying up until 11:00 because of schoolwork. Homework is unhealthy for students and it is not academically beneficial for them.
