Why Teach?
Everyone has a purpose in life, mine is to teach, becoming a teacher was a decision I made years ago a child. I knew I wanted to help people, I wanted to help children but I had no idea what I should do. I decided first to become a medical assistant I even graduated from it. But I quickly realize that it was not my purpose in life, I dislike the work and I have always felt if you’re not happy doing it then you chose the wrong path. I decided to become a teacher as a child I with my mother worked a daycare I was immediately taken by the children I was helping I was so happy around them. I have been asked that by every family member, why become a teacher? They ask me. For me the answer is not exactly straight to the point. I love working with children, I do have a bad habit of changing my mind, I have felt been a teacher would be the path for me to go. Watching students grow and become successful adults is a rewarding aspect to me, to watch their excitement as children continue to grow as they get older than passing that knowledge to their siblings or to other children is a reward I look forward to.
One teacher that has inspired me was Mrs. Gerry Jones, a teacher who won an award back in 1952 she really seems to be grateful and kind, I would want to be that kind of teacher, “, and a encouragement to teach to the best of my ability” (“Mrs. Gerry Jones,” CTA Journal, (“Mrs. Gerry Jones,” CTA Journal, September 1952, 1952) she is so thankful for the award she was just a begginer as a teacher and worked for four years in Earlychildhood Development the class that I am now. Mrs.Gerry has a very cheerful desposition she found it thrilling that she was nominated and that she was in awarded. I believe back in 1952 being a teacher was very differerent than it is now. She is just like one teacher I had in college she was so happy and inspired me. I have mention I have always loved children teaching them would be a great joy. Another teacher Miss Margaret Perry, was invited to the White House so not only was she awarded teacher of the year in 1955, but she also inspires the president. Miss Perry was a fourth grade teacher which, is the grade that I came her to the U.S I started school at eight years old fourth grade. Miss Perry is related able to her students she always made them feel comfortable and that is something I think about when it comes to bee a teacher, to make my students comfortable and to understand them as sometimes lives at home are not easy. “I personally thank all teachers everywhere for the opportunity to represent them as "Teacher of the Year."
