Back in my teenage days, I was once told by my teacher saying that “I believe no one can teach you how to act, but schools do give you an environment to make mistakes, to learn techniques and to learn professionalism”. Looking back at those words really gave me the inspiration to become a professional teacher in the kindergarten to teach, to learn new things, gaining new experiences and knowledge as well as being a professional. Although, there are few challenges that I have been struggled but those words make me works harder every day to make a big achievement and to show that I am able to achieve it. I have been an elementary teacher for the past 11 years and that is all that I have know as an educator. This past week I stepped into the middle school library and I will admit that I felt completly out of my comfort zone. After a couple of hours I began to notice that although in a middle school setting 6th graders were not much different than the 5th graders I work with at the elementary level. Like all new positions time is the key factor to gain experiences and like you mentioned above having a support system in place will most definitely help.

For every single course, High School teachers will develop a course syllabus that outlines the topics meant to be taught within a quarter, semester, or year. Also, in addition High School teachers create daily lesson plans for each course, and prepare lesson plans for a specific class such as math, english, science, history, etc. In a class period, they complete attendance tasks, collect homework, review the previous day’s lesson, present the new lessons through which ever tactic the teacher thinks fits best. Another responsibility for teachers is to check students understanding of concepts & skills through written and/or oral exercises that the teacher has assigned, teachers will also assign, tests, quizzes, homework, and classwork as well. Personally, the responsibilities that are most enjoyable are working with kids and helping them learn, and teach them skills & tools to use later in life. Although I would not particularly like grading all of the tests, quizzes, homework, etc. When a student has a poor outcome on a test or any other assigned work it results in lowering the student’s grade and maybe even failing ...

Becoming a teacher has been the ultimate aspiration for myself since the first day I walked into kindergarten. As a very timid student, it was a difficult task transitioning from being with my mother everyday, to being part of a classroom environment full of strangers. However, my kindergarten teacher helped me through this transition smoothly, and adequately. I very quickly learned to love school. Soon after, I knew I would aspire to become a teacher. I would spend countless hours at home with a blackboard, acting as a teacher to my imaginary students throughout my elementary school years.
I am a hard-working, confident and conscientious and have a keen desire to be a primary school teacher. The main reason I want to pursue this vocation is because I love the prospect of working with children, being such an important part of a child’s life is a real honour. I have been fascinated at how quickly they learn things, gaining an insight into their perceptions and how they see the world, the idea of playing an active role in helping them develop, greatly appeals me. Having a long term goal of working with children, I believe I am particularly suited to a degree in Primary/Physical education. I gain huge satisfaction from being able to help them learn and discover new things about the world. Nurturing a child’s development is an occupation that offers huge satisfaction, both intellectual and emotional. My ambition is to be in charge of a classroom, to introduce ideas and skills to the class and observe and feel their response. The teacher’s skills of good communication, patience, clarity and the ability to explain the world are very demanding of one’s intelligence and one’s p...

Teaching is a daunting task that I do not intend to take lightly. Becoming a teacher has been a dream of mine for several years.
