Making a Difference as a Teacher
I have not always wanted to be a teacher. I always knew that I wanted to work with children in some way, but I was pretty sure that teaching was not for me. I was well on my way in my junior year of college working toward a biology degree so that I could become a pediatric physician’s assistant. I still cannot explain what happened, but one week I was a biology major, and the next I knew that I have always been meant to teach children. I suppose I just took the longer route to get there than most people do. The two main reasons that I have chosen to become a teacher is that I believe that teaching is extremely personally rewarding in many ways and the fact that I can actively make a difference in someone’s life.
The first main reason that I have chosen teaching as a profession is because I believe that it’s continuous rewards will help me to lead a happy and fulfilled life. For example, teaching young children is one of the few jobs in which you can give and receive hugs on a daily basis. Children have an innocence and a passion for knowledge that I find amazing and I do not feel complete unless I am around them. Teaching will help provide this fulfillment for me every day. Also, teaching is a job in which it is ok, and even encouraged, to laugh each and every day. I feel that this is important for a person’s well-being and I think that it helps to keep people young and alive. I feel that in many other professions the day-to-day routine would become monotonous and boring, and I do not think that I would live a truly happy and fulfilled life unless I could be around children. I feel that a classroom provides many unique and dynamic opportunities every single day and I find that very appealing. Also, I am a very relationship-oriented person and I feel that I will enjoy building unique relationships with each child. I plan on knowing every child as thoroughly as possible because I feel that this will help me to be better at my job.
Although Barbie was created as a toy for girls, the sexual nature of the doll suggests it was created for the pleasure of men and envy of women. Prager compares the figure of Barbie to the kind of women who would be seen in the Playboy mansion or be a frequent guest on explicit television shows. This is the image of a mans...
For starters the title, “Barbie Doll” holds a meaning. It symbolizes the ideal figure of a female body. Society creates this ideal that is embed into every century. It is never ending. It is intended that she must have the twig like arms and legs, the minuscule waist and nose,
All in all, learning about primates then getting to observe them is very interesting. I got to match the primate’s behaviors written in a book with how they act in person, and see for myself if it was what I expected. Observing them is far more fun than just reading about them, for example while I was sitting with the orangutans there was not a minute that went by where I wasn't smiling or laughing at what each individual ape was doing. Actually seeing certain primates interact with each other whether it be grooming, hugging,or playing, put into perspective just how much they act like humans. By observing and doing research, this will better our understanding between the differences and similarities of non-human primates and ourselves as humans.
Following birth, their mothers teach them the social norms of living in large communities, launching their maturity which can last up to 15 years. Maturity is achieved at a slower rate due to the larger size of a chimp’s brain compared to other living mammals. This makes it so they are able to understand social hierarchy, make/use tools, and even learn American Sign Language. The evolution of humans stems from what is hypothesized to be Chimpanzees. In fact, Chimps are more closely related to Humans, 1.24%, than they are to Gorillas, 1.63% (Overshaw, 2007, pg. 65). This becomes evident when looking at the primitive traits humans have obtained from Chimpanzees over time which include, complex hands, bipedalism, ability to see colors, dental formula, etc. With all of these traits that have evolved into what is a human, how could humans not look to primates as a prime example for animal
Monkeys have many human-like traits such as communications and grooming by observing the behaviors of these amazing primates. We can see how much they are similar to humans . Also, they have different sizes, shapes and colors. Monkeys have four hands and one long tail. They use their two hind limbs as a hand to eat , to play, and to take care of their kids. Monkeys live in jungles; they tend to jump from tree to another. Furthermore, Monkeys are also used for road shows.
Barbie shows children everywhere that being one's self is good and that one doesn’t have to get married, have children and stop working just to have an ideal life. Barbie is also an American icon and found in toy stores across the country, where her many makes and models of all different ethnicities continue to inspire since 1959. Barbie is sometimes perceived as a negative influence because she shows an unrealistic ideal of beauty, however I believe that Barbie is just an example of elegant beauty. The Barbie industry isn't promoting this ideal, just showing an example of a happy, successful and well-balanced workingwoman. She is a figure of a hardworking woman, who is well educated and exploring all opportunities available to her. Barbie is not just a doll, but also a role model. So go buy a Barbie, and put a paragon in a child's life.
Now that I have told you what has led me to this decision I would like to tell you exactly why I have chosen to become a teacher. I want to become a teacher not because of the salary nor because I want weekends and holidays off; rather, I want to become a teacher because I truly have a passion for making a difference in others lives. I feel that teaching is perhaps one of the most fulfilling roles in life. Becoming a teacher to me means helping to shape another person by teaching and instructing them.
Through my own experiences, and as enforced by others' opinions in the profession, I have found that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers. Not only are you placed in the position of instructing and guiding children and young adults through the life long learning process, but you are able to give back to the schools and communities which have supported your early education and experiences that opened you up to a bright future. In becoming an educator, I hope to someday share the knowledge and lend the helping, supportive hand that I was once given, allowing students to formulate their own perspectives of the multicultural society and world around them. Teaching is a career I have been interested in pursuing throughout high school, and as my experiences and study in the field expands, I feel that my desire to teach will grow stronger and develop more soundly.

“You’re going to end up being a teacher when you’re older,” said my mom while I was in middle school. I never believed that I would ever have the desire to want to teach children about certain subjects. In middle school, the teachers were just inconsiderate of everything that we were suppose to do not only in the classroom, but at home too and I never wanted to be someone that some people hate. Once I got to my junior year of high school I finally decided that maybe my mother is right, I think I would really love my job as a teacher, but the reasons I decided this path was a lot deeper than just my mother telling me she thought I’d make a good teacher. I want to be a teacher because I can help the future generations, make
Sustainable development is a dynamic process designed to meet today’s needs without compromising the ability of the future generations to meet their own needs; however, environmentalist have agreed that special measures have to be put in place to achieve this sustainable development .however the question still stand that we need to ask ourselves; if the survival of the people alive today is important or is the conservation of the environment on which the future human life will depend?.
Becoming a teacher has been the ultimate aspiration for myself since the first day I walked into kindergarten. As a very timid student, it was a difficult task transitioning from being with my mother everyday, to being part of a classroom environment full of strangers. However, my kindergarten teacher helped me through this transition smoothly, and adequately. I very quickly learned to love school. Soon after, I knew I would aspire to become a teacher. I would spend countless hours at home with a blackboard, acting as a teacher to my imaginary students throughout my elementary school years.
There have been many factors that have inspired me to this career choice. Watching my teachers, both past and present, has inspired me to become a teacher. I have a genuine interest in lifelong learning and as such I have the desire to not only instil knowledge and values to others, but also encourage them to share my passion for learning. Social Justice and leadership roles at school, along with my extra-curricular involvement with Cowra Youth Council, have highlighted my ability to work with and for the benefit of young people. In essence I know that my abilities and aspirations will make me a good teacher.
Develop teaching expertise is the part of proposition from NBPTS, specifically knowing the subjects they teach and how to teach those subjects to students (1987). One of the methods is continue to pursue their professional development by joining a professional association or organization, attending a workshop, and reading a professional journal, website, or books. These ideas enhance teachers’ cognitive growth by enlarge information of the latest strategies or method, enhance cognitive growth, and learning to help the teachers to become expert in their teaching and influence on student learning.
Teaching is a daunting task that I do not intend to take lightly. Becoming a teacher has been a dream of mine for several years. I always knew that teaching would be the career for me, especially when I began working in the school system as a substitute secretary. I loved working in the school environment; coming in contact with children everyday made me realize how much I would enjoy teaching a classroom full of students.
