Why do you want to attend the Oxford trip? The reason i’d like to attend the Oxford trip is because many students limit themselves to only attend colleges nearby. For example, most students say they'd like to go to Stanford. Yes Stanford is a great school but there are many other colleges/ universities that are as good, and maybe even better. I don't want to nb attend Stanford. I want to look at colleges in different states and different countries. I've always been fascinated by european culture and I've actually worked on looking at colleges in/ near Italy. I like exploring new places, meeting different people, and learning new languages which is why I'm interested in universities/colleges outside of the United States. I would love to attend college in a place outside of the U.S to be able to have new experiences. The trip to Oxford is a great opportunity because it will give me an insight of what it's like to attend college in a different country and I'll be able to look at a possible option for college.
What do you know about Oxford and how is it relevant to the work you are doing at ODA? What I know about Oxford is that our curriculum is based on theirs. Here at ODA we have tutorials, which just happens to be a major part of Oxford University. Tutorials are not just academically helpful but they're also helpful in life. The point of tutorials are for us students to be the ones who teach. Tutorials help us think for ourselves and teach us how to use the resources we have. I like tutorials because we don't all learn the same way so tutorials give you the opportunity to show others how you think. You also get to learn new perspectives and ideas. We aren't always going to have someone by our side explaining everything step by step so it helps us become independent young adults. Personally i like knowing that i can get things done without the help of anyone. Another thing that we do at ODA is that during our finals week we wear
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
As a junior in high school, I am forced to consider the possibilities for collegian studies. Boy, there are a lot. There’s approximately five thousand colleges including two and four year schools in the United States alone. This isn’t including the thousands of others in the world. Undoubtedly, I could go to a school in almost any continent, excluding the north and south poles. I could see the Amazon jungle, or the tropical reefs of Australia, or the bitter cold winters of Germany. The possibilities are endless! I want to travel so badly, I have even considered taking a year off, simply to travel; although, since then I have found that colleges also have exchange programs, and semesters abroad in which I could travel while continuing my schoolwork. Obviously, I learned a great amount about my personal future plans for
Princeton is an excellent university that provides good opportunities and education for hard working students to pursue their dreams. Princeton University is located in New Jersey with 30,000 residents in a safe and pleasant neighborhood (Princeton University - About Princeton; Princeton University - Facts & Figures; Princeton University). There are shops, eco-friendly streets, restaurants, and nice parks surrounding the campus. There is a shuttle train, the “Dinky,” can transport students directly from the campus to Princeton Junction Station where students can travel to New York and Philadelphia within an hour each. These places can be extremely useful to students wanting to discover countless resources of arts around them.
I would be honored to participate in this program due to the invaluable experience I will receive from SMU in Paris. The advantages from this program can be expressed in two groups: personal and academic. From a personal standpoint, I never thought I would have the opportunity to join a program such as this due to the lack of programs from the previous institutions I attended. When I transferred to SMU exactly one year ago, I began to learn about the extensive study abroad programs and listened to countless stories told by students who had personal experiences. I believe studying in Paris will give me many advantages.
The credit that I would fulfill doing this abroad program, an advanced Western Tradition, fits perfectly in my schedule and will help me be one step closer to my early graduation. Most obviously, studying abroad will also benefit my education by giving me a wider-range of knowledge. I will get the chance to talk to numerous people of different backgrounds, hearing what they have done in their life and how they got where they are.
I am thankful for this opportunity to apply to study at Oxford University, f that it has always been a dream of mine to visit England, it would further my academic and cultural knowledge, and it would prepare me for college. My maternal family is originally from England, so I am interested in connecting to my roots. Although, most of my family left England in the 1600’s to escape religious persecution, I want to explore my English heritage. Furthermore, I am intrigued in this program because I wish to broaden my horizons by experiencing a new way of life, and meeting a plethora of different people, from different places. Therefore, I would be able to learn about new cultures, ways of life, and types government.
I decided to attend to North Carolina A&T for many reasons such as its scholarships and other forms of financial aid that it provided, its strong engineering program and challenging academics, and its pride that can be felt throughout the campus. Attending A&T was a great financial choice because it offered me the most money out of the schools I had applied for because of good amount of scholarship money it gave me to attend school. If I would have went to other schools I would have to take out a lot of loan money just too barely pay to attend. North Carolina A&T is well known for its excellent STEM based programs. Since I am majoring in electrical engineering going to A&T would be a wise choice. Many people have told me that even though the
Other than the outstanding reputation Boston University has with its academic programs, there are a plethora of personal reasons I have for desiring to attend BU. Ever since I was a little kid a close family friend attended BU, making my family and me really familiar with the university. We all hold BU in high regard and I know being able to attend BU will make my mom and the people supporting me proud. Even though my mom will make it apparent that she is proud of whatever college I attend, I know from experience that she wants me to go to a prestigious college such as BU and will be disappointed if I don’t. Being able to go to BU will alleviate a lot of stress from my shoulders, as I will be fulfilling my mom’s wishes while being able to go
I was inspired to study abroad in England because the country has such a strong cultural identity. When we think of England, we often think about the stereotypical tea drinkers that eat bangers and mash; however England is much more than that. England stood out to me because I felt I knew so much and so little about it. I realized that I knew about the American perception of England and not the real country. Hence why I decided to study at St. Mary’s University, so I could really understand England as a culture and society. I thought studying in London made the most sense because the city is so culturally diverse and aligns with my interests. London is at epicenter for theater, pop culture, fashion, cinema, and I want to experience all of it.
I have never traveled outside the confines of my country. It is constantly been my dream to travel to the United States and see for myself what it truly feels like to be outside your own country. The complexity and the allurement of the Stanford University is breath-taking. I have witnessed this artistry from reading and watching videos (YouTube) but to be able to see it right before my eyes would haul me in a state of euphoria. The Stanford summer experience is an opportunity for me to not only work alongside world-renowned teachers and researchers, but also gain insights into pursuing a career in my aforementioned passions.
I am applying for this program because I always wanted to study abroad and devote some quality time to interact with people from...
My goals are to experience as much as I can while traveling and studying abroad.
Studying abroad is more than a trip for the scenery, it’s an opportunity that someone, like myself, would never imagine being able to be a part of. As a business administration major, I plan to use my degree to further the family-owned business my parents started. Their American Dream has become my goal to accomplish, with the help of my studies in Lunenburg, Germany, I will be able to learn how business works in a different country and different culture. At TAMUK, I proud myself in being a first-generation student, although I struggle through my own daily obstacles, I find time to focus on my studies and stay active through club soccer and golf. As rewarding as it is to be able to call myself a Javelina, studying abroad will help me find
The ability to be away from my friends and family, while still exceling at school will give me a true taste of adulthood and life after graduation. Not only will the independence of studying abroad help me in my personal life, but it will help me within my academic and career futures. The classes that Hartpury provides builds off of several of the classes that I have taken here at Centenary, but will go more in depth and give me a well-rounded knowledge of the science and biomechanics of the horse and other animals that I may come in contact with in my future vet practice. Which will provide me with the knowledge that is needed for when I apply to graduate school.
Most take the chance, despite the fears that come with living away from home in an unfamiliar place. If a student were given the opportunity to attend any college they wanted and declined because they were nervous, most would call them foolish. Studying abroad can be just as scary and uncomfortable for those who dislike change, but it’s also a key to success in a career after college. The concerns that people have when deciding to go away to college are similar to the fears that students express when deciding to study abroad. These uncertainties can seem difficult to overcome, but more students need to realize that the decision to study abroad is just as impactful to one’s success after college as the decision to attend college is.
