When scientists and inventors create something for the first time, it is most likely not to work the first time. Most people would dismiss their idea or creation as it had failed, but, in accuality, they did not fail but simply found a way of how not to do something. In 1871 a German archaeoligist named Heinrich Schliemann was on the pursuit of finding the Lost City of Troy. Schliemann had loved to go on such adventures and discover new and wonderful artifacts, but the one thing he had loved more was fame and money. In 1868 he had found out that a British archeologist named Frank Calvert believed he had found the Lost City of Troy which Schliemann had been in search of for many years. Because Calvert had very little money, he had asked for the funding assistance of Schliemann. In 1871, Schliemann's workers had begun to carelessly dig down the site which was belived to be the area where the Lost City of Troy was. This careless digging had resulted in damage of many artifacts which had possibly belonged the Lost City of Troy. This mistake had led to much damage but also great discovery. Both men had discovered ancient axes, household items, and jewels. Yet much more could have been discovered if Schliemann had not been so
