Are mistakes truly a key part of discovery? I believe mistakes are a key part of discovery.Some people might argue they aren’t and you can discover lots of things without making mistakes but I think you can also discover more things with mistakes involved. Firstly,mistakes can be bad but they can also be good and lead to major discoveries.For example,in the first story,Heinrich Schliemann thought he knew exactly where the ancient city of Troy was so he started digging up trenches of dirt.He did make a mistake and dug too close and although artifacts were broken,he and Frank Calvert still found many unbroken artifacts and discovered where Troy had been.In conclusion,mistakes can do bad things but people can get some good things out of it,like big discoveries. Secondly,mistakes can lead to discovery and even not do anything bad to artifacts or anything.For example,in the second story,Percy Spencer had made a Magnetron and while standing near it,he noticed his chocolate in his pocket melted.He then had a moment of realization and asked for some popcorn kernels and put them near the heat.A few minutes later,he had officially made
