Recommended: Persuasive arguments against having a dress code at school

I think that dress codes are a must for school, because in the business world there is also a professional way to dress and a way not to dress. I think that school is just warming you up to that fact. I think that the drawbacks arise from conflicts like tiny holes below the knees on people's jeans shouldn't be dress coded more of just told to be more presentable maybe. But then again that student may not be able to afford expensive jeans maybe that's all the student has is holey jeans but the school doesn't ever take that into consideration when they write the dress code. I also find it dumb when teachers send a student to change their clothes for holes I can understand if it is in an inappropriate place but the fact that clothing material …show more content…

The thing is that this stuff doesn't really prepare us, just like asking to use the restroom or asking to go get something. In the real world there is no asking you just go, there is no excuses or reasons you just better have it done and ready to go. I think that's what our faculty doesn't understand, they are making school more like work they are making school with just more regulations and rules. Like the change from me transitioning from middle to high school was simple but for the kids that were below me and had to deal with that mean principal over at the middle school it was more than that it was a breeze they ran that place awfully and it is still ran arbitrary. They treat the students as if they make one mistake its over there is no second chance you do not go around to go and do not collect there $200 instead they simply get a detention. I think the dress code is a good idea to an extent I think all of the administrators should go to a lot of different companies in different industries and see the dress policies there. Then they would have a better understanding of what should be allowed and what should not be allowed. As a result, there has been an increase in legal controversies dealing with the issue. The reason that dress codes are not conclusively enforced is due to the application of the First Amendment to juveniles in the public school setting.
