"When letting your kids out of sight becomes a crime" Letting your kids out of sight, is that really considered a crime? I'm no parent to decide whether it is or isn't a crime to have kids out and about on there own without any supervision. I can although, explain from a teens point of view of when I was a child and how it didn't occur to me how dangerous it can or can't be to be unsupervised. Growing up, transportation was a problem for some kids and I understand why children would have to walk to school alone or with their siblings. But that doesn’t mean it 's an excuse for parents to have their kids at a young age to walk alone to school because you never know what the consequences could be. Should children experience independence at a young age so they mature a little bit faster than others? Of course they should, there's no consequence for that. It's just the matter of fact of when and where it should be allowed and when it shouldn't be. Personally, I would do whatever it takes to make sure my kids are safe at their young stage. I conclude that parents should be there for their children at all times when it comes to having to play out in public. And of course I assume that parents would like for their children to experience independence and be able to handle themselves. But I would like to emphasize on if children are out playing with other children at a park, then why not have their own parents there to watch over them for their children's safety. Meaning, if you know that your kid just wants to have fun for a certain amount of time then there's no harm taking the time out of your day to watch over your children.
