Ever since I was 6 years old I would always want to use an electronic of any kind, may it be watching TV, playing on an old iMac G4, or playing GameCube on a huge box TV. I used to beg my mother to use her Nokia flip phone to play pong or Pac man when we would go to the store or out to dinner. Electronic is an interest that has consumed my life. Electronics are a part of many peoples lives because everyone now has a smart phone, TV, computer, and many more. Computers and software have become my strong suit throughout the year. When I was 14 I build my first computer by myself completely and had done weeks of research to make sure all the parts were compatible, that the computer would run insanely fast, and that all the software drivers would …show more content…
I though why not try to start playing with different software to help my friends gaming experience as well as everyday computer use. Well to start off with I started creating game servers for my friends to play on and use to have fun. We all had a blast and I loved making my friends happy and being able to control way we could experience software. Then I decided well if I can make servers run great for my friends I wonder if I could code some software too. Well that’s when it hit me right at that moment is when I had a huge interest in computers and knew that computer science was the path in life I was going to take. From that point on I started coding mods for games as well as aid my friends in setups and other questions to make sure their computers ran at max potential. I became so immersed in the fact that I could help people by using computers and that I can actually create a life out of what I love to do. A year passed and I still can’t get enough of my electronics even with my everyday life being included. The computer had become part of me like it used to be an interest that sparked into my way of life as well as a way to reach out to
The United States, as well as the world, is more and more dependent on electronics. Everything around us runs on electricity; from the cars we drive, our dependency on mobile electronics we use, all the way down to the cappuccino machines that make our favorite beverages. We love our electronics. Last year alone “retail sales of consumer electronics fell just short of $1 trillion in 2011,” reports John Laposky of TWICE magazine, and those sales “are predicted to hit $1.04 trillion in 201...
The first piece of technology that was introduced to me was the amazing, ground-breaking GameBoy created by Nintendo. My parents believed that my obsession with video games in my juvenile years would be the cause of my downfall when I would become an adult with no job, no money, and still lived with my parents. I admit that I did have an addiction in the beginning, but over the years it moderated as I became more attracted to what was actually done to develop the devices and programs that once ensnared me. Enrolling into a vocational high school, I selected Programming & Web Development as my choice of trade in order for me to learn more about this extraordinary field of science. Soon I began compiling my own applications, but with a method unorthodox compared to my classmates; I believed that the vivid aesthetics and simple navigation displayed on applications were just as crucial as the tediously compiled, intricate code virtually hidden underneath. With every annual keynote that was broadcasted from numerous Silicon Valley companies, their latest innovations constantly entertained my curiosity. Advancing as an upperclassmen, I entered into challenging courses and incessantly researched innumerable universities as I began to devise a plan of recruitment for the companies of the Bay Area. Enrolling into a university that is passionate about the
How were you first introduced to CS? How have you continued to develop your technical skills and seek additional exposure to the field?
We use to have the desk top computers which we could only use at home or work that occupied a lot of space. Now we have laptops, tablets, and smart phones. It is nice to have this types of devices because we are able to use it as a means of communications. We are able to surf the web on our smart phones and also compose or answer emails. Movies and television programs can also be viewed on our phones, laptops and tablets.
Addictions to electronics are bad, but that’s not the only thing to worry about. With all this technology today, the world has become more impatient. The struggle of waiting one minute for the laptop to load has become unbearable to most teenagers. Due to having everything in a touch of
Preparing for college starts well before senior year in high school. The primary purpose of a high school is to get students to go to college. The purpose of going to college is to gain work-related skills and knowledge on the career path a student takes which will eventually be their future. Also, students are investing a lot of money to attend colleges, so they count on high school to prepare them for what they are going to expect in college.
This interest never left me, it just grows and keep growing. After finishing high school, I was so interested in pursuing my tertiary education with something computer related and I had studied Diploma in Computer Science. It was a very great exposure towards the computer systems. During my studies, like everyone else I never forget my console and games. Play Station 3, Play Station Portable and even I had joined Garena Online to battle with other gamers around Asia. Well, not many of them were girls so I just kept my identity with some kind of...
Technology has always been an area of interest for me, even from a young age I was fascinated with the products and devices that used various forms of technology. I can still remember the time my parents brought home the first cell phone that they ever purchased. It was a Motorola phone and was about the size of a brick, but it was one of the most interesting pieces of technology that I had ever seen. My parents had not purchased it for the technology alone, as it was meant to be a line of communication for my sister and me to get in contact with our mother in case of emergencies. My parents still have that cell phone and, one year I used it as part of a Halloween costume to the amazement and entertainment of my friends. It is
Almost every child between the ages of eight and twelve is getting cell phones. The average home in America has as many televisions as they do people. Only 20% of American homes do not have a computer. Technology is quickly becoming a new way of life. The amount of time people spend on their devices is growing rapidly.
I was dumbfounded to know that games are nothing but programs. Curious to know how to program I developed a serious interest in Computers. This keen interest in mathematics along with a strong liking for computers, and particularly programming, prompted me to choose engineering with Computer Science as my major. This decision gave me ample opportunity to consolidate my creative energies and harness my technical
I remember when technology had been part of my life ever since I was in seventh grade. When my dad first bought my sister a new computer and gave me the old one. It was an “old school” computer. The ones with a small ball in the computer mouse in order to move the cursor. I was so excited even though it’s a “used” computer because I never had one before.
My passion for both software and hardware behind it stems from having been fortunate enough to be introduced to it at a young age. What may have originally been a simple fondness for video games developed into a curiosity regarding the nuts and bolts of the computer and a dedication to improve them. Subsequently, I plan to pursue software engineering in the future.
When I was in middle school, I had totally no idea of what Computer Science is, but I was pretty proficient in using computers at that age. The only thing that I knew about Computer Science is that one of my aunts is in that field and that’s all, nor of my parents are in that major. Not until in High School that I got the sense of what programming is like. I was taught basic simple codings and I really enjoyed it and thought that the class was actually quite fun. But the class didn’t give me any sense of the important real-world applications of Computer Science. Not until recently as I am in the Computer Science major, I started to really have the real idea and to gain real passion for the field. Computer Science is not all about programming.
My interest in Computers dates back to early days of my high school. The field of CS has always fascinated me. The reason for choosing CS stream was not a hasty decision. My interest started developing in the early stage of my life, when I studied about the invention of computers. The transformation from the large size to small palmtops enticed me to know about the factors responsible for making computers, also the electronic gadgets so small.
Then my dad brought me home a new computer. Man, I was excited! I waited outside for what seemed like hours for him to come home with it. It was a 486 with a 33 MHz processor, double speed CD-ROM drive, and 2400-baud modem. I was finally going to learn this new
