Dear Bobby: I remembered us speaking last Sunday during family dinner that you were trying to find a diet plan that would work for you and your needs. I know we discussed the grapefruit diet, alkaline diet, and the eat-clean diet. You gave the family quite a scare last month when you suffered a mini stroke and I’ve been worried about you ever since. I did some research on the diets other’s recommended and compared them to the eat-clean diet I suggested last Sunday. The alkaline diet is based on the theory that meat, wheat refined sugars, and processed foods cause our body to produce acid, which is harmful to us. It suggests eating more foods like fruits, vegetables, soybeans, tofu, legumes and some nuts. These foods produce more alkaline that …show more content…
This diet claims that grapefruit contains enzymes that help burn fat, there has been no studies or scientific proof this is true. For this diet you must eat a grapefruit with every meal, cut back on sugar and carbohydrates. Avoid rice. Potatoes, pasta, celery, and white onions. Eat only foods high in protein, fat, and cholesterol, such as eggs, pork, and red meat. It’s said to cut calories to 800 a day and for you this is not healthy. It’s recommended to drink one cup of coffee a day and we all know caffeine is not good for you. This may help you shed 10 pounds in ten days, but does not promote health and well-being to you and your …show more content…
You don’t need to skip meals, it will teach you calorie control, aid in regular exercise, and consume more high fiber, carbs, lean protein, and strength training. It will boost your metabolism, and encourage a thirty minute exercise routine. Even though this diet plan takes a lot of effort and provides no support, you have plenty of family support. I am willing to provide you with a membership to our gym and you have an appointment with my trainer next week. I love you and just want you to be healthy and this diet plan will benefit you both physically and
In any diet working out should be an addition to staying healthy. Yes, you can also possibly lose weight by eating a lower calorie count than your body regularly so your body can instead use stored fat, however it’s not that simple. Tom Naughton shows that “every time you eat you store some fat. In between meals fat comes out of your fat cells to provide the fuel for your muscles and organs. If you’re naturally thin then that means you have efficient fat cells which means fat cells go in quickly and comes out easily. Your body doesn’t need much fat because the little bit of fat you do have is a reliable source of fuel.” but on the other hand “ If you’re predisposed to be fat it’s because you have greedy fat cells. When you eat you tend to store calories as fat instead of burning them and when your other tissues need those calories the fat comes out slowly if it comes out at all. And you do what your body is telling you to do. You eat more.” Which means you’re not getting fat because you’re eating more. You’re eating more because you’re getting fat. However eating things such as grain, which is at the bottom of the food pyramid which means it should be the main portion of your diet, can impair your body at the cellular level. “When you
The Cheater’s Diet sounds good, but I am not so sure it really works like he claims it does. I also am a firm believer in exercising at least five days a week, which includes cardio and weight training. Rivas believes if you are just being active in daily tasks and follow the diet, you will lose the weight still. He does recommend that you workout a couple days a week, but I personally believe it should be more. Rivas also includes supplements into his diet that some say could be doing more harm to your body than good.
Imagine a diet with quick weight loss, and being able to see immense results in only a few months, sounds like the life doesn’t it? Well the impossible has finally become possible with the help of special diets, otherwise known as FAD diets. FAD diets are known as weight reducing diets of extreme nature that either eliminate one or more of the essential food groups or enhance the consumption of one group of food in excess, and intend to produce results more quickly than diet-exercise combinations. One specific FAD diet is known as the Cookie diet.
This meal plan will be a drastic change from my current meals. According to the Super Tracker website I
I have enough exercise from doing yoga and hiking every weekend with my family. Any time I’m free, I try to do something active that will benefit my physical health. Although I maintain my physical health pretty well, I have a difficult time to eat 3 balanced meals everyday. For example, I skip lunch almost everyday on school days because I have a lot of meetings to attend and don’t have the time to eat. Also, I skip breakfast if I wake up late and need to get to school. I need to work on eating meals everyday to satisfy my hunger even though I have no time to. It’s difficult to stay active when I don’t eat enough meals
The question comes up again; “How is your diet?” Jessica revisited her diet analysis from the first week of class. She noticed that some things have changed and some things, unfortunately, have not changed. She knew that some things would not change because of the hectic and busy semester and summer she had ahead of her but the things that did change surprised her. This class did some good for her, but she still needs some work on her diet and nutrition.
Nutrition and physical activity are important aspects as they improve health and reduce chronic diseases. In June of this year my family physician placed me on a doctor assisted weight loss program that enabled me to eat my favorite foods but in appropriate proportions and in heathier ways. The best part about Supertracker is that it gives me wonderful tools to support me in understanding and meeting my goals. Once I created a profile through Supertracker I was provided a personal plan to follow including the amount of grains, vegetables, fruits, and protein I needed to be successful. For three consecutive days, I entered my food and activity intake into Supertracker and was able to analyze the excesses and deficiencies
If you are careful about what you eat, how much you eat, and when you eat, your muscles should become healthy and lean. It is also important to note that skipping meals does not help you loose weight, but gain weight, because when your body does get food it stores it as fat because it does not know when you ate going to eat again.
The diet that I am currently on is not as nutritious as it should be. By looking at the Dietary Recommended Intakes for my age and comparing it to my current dietary habits, I hav...

I would plan my meals out for the day and place them in the system and see what my outcome would be before I cook or prepare them from me and my son. I also tied to bake a lot of my foods and not fry them. I eliminated a lot of salts and sodium from my diet as will. The food tracker counts everything! I made to sure not to substitute to many to snacks to replace my craving of bread. Me and my son came up with fun things to eat like the old school peanut butter and celery with raisins for snacks. On the third day we actually ate nothing but veggies for dinner like asparagus, corn, and sliced Irish potatoes. The meal was very different but for my son to like it I was shocked. I even
Although the treatment process was often frustrating and challenging, I actually came to enjoy my appointments with the nutritionist in her tiny, cozy office, cluttered with food models and recipes. She taught me the basics of nutrition and helped me form a healthier relationship with food. It took time and quite a few tearful sessions, but I slowly started to view food in terms of the nutrients and benefits it could offer me instead of thinking of food as the enemy. During my recovery, I experienced the powerful impact that proper nutrition could have on overall health. I gained back all the weight I had lost, and my hair stopped falling out. However, the biggest changes were the ones most people could not see just by looking at me; they were the emotional and mental changes that came from properly nourishing my body again. I could concentrate on schoolwork instead of planning out my next meal, and I ...
For this paper I decided to take a second and evaluate my life and think about what were some of my current lifestyle habits and behaviors and which out of these habits would I like to change. After sitting down and evaluating all of my main habits I categorized them into groups of which ones were helping to lead me to a long healthy lifestyle and which ones were likely to lead me to an unhealthy life and lifestyle. After narrowing these unhealthy habits down to my top three I decided to focus this paper and my attention on my current nutrition and most of all on my negative eating habits. After evaluating my lifestyle and all of my unhealthy habits I felt that my current nutrition level and eating patterns were in need of the most improvement and change.
Nutrition is an important key to learn and understand in your life while you get older. Many people do not know the proper diet and exercise to keep their body healthy and strong. Throughout this course, I have learned information on different kinds of vitamins, carbohydrates, amino acids and other helpful diets. After reading and logging my dietary log for a week it has helped me re-organize my diet and health. I have learned about how to personally manage my exercise and diet and I am seeing some good results because of what I learned from this class. I started to see what I was missing in my diet and started to know what quantity and quality was for your diet. I also took a leap into my family health history to see what I need to change
While I was tracking my eating for these three days, I began to learn about the benefits of the food that I am eating and the nourishment that they provide for my body. I had never realized how big of a role that the food that I eat plays in my everyday life. Eating has never been something that I really think about it is just something that I do. After I looking at the data of what I eat on Choose My Plate, I realized that my eating habits are far from balanced and that I needed to work on bringing my eating habits to a better balance. While there are a lot of things that I have been doing right, there are also many things that I can work on.
