Three Day Diet Analysis
My goal is to consume 1500 calories per day. According to the Super Tracker website, for breakfast I should have 1 ounce of grains, ½ cup of fruit and ½ cup of dairy. I will be able to have a midmorning snack that can include 1 ounce of grains and ½ of fruit. For lunch, I can have 1 ounce of grains, ½ cup of vegetables, ½ cup of fruits, and 2 ½ ounce of protein foods. This meal plans also allows me to have an Afternoon snack, that can include ½ cup of vegetables and ½ cup of dairy. consume entirely too many fats and unhealthy foods and not enough fruit and vegetables. My current diet exceeds the amount of calories that I’m aiming to eat each day. On the first day, I tracked my foods the results showed that I ate 2 ounces of grains, 1 cup of vegetables, 1 cup of fruit, 0 cups of dairy, and 2 ½ ounces of proteins. For that day I didn’t reach my recommended daily food group target. On the second day, I ate 1068 calories.
My goal was to eat 1500, and I had 432 calories remaining. According to the daily food group target I went over on my recommended grains eating 6 ounces instead of 5 ounces. I ate ½ cup of vegetables, this was under my target of 2 cups. I didn’t eat any fruits that day. I had 1 ¼ cups of dairy, which was under the 3 cups that I was supposed to consume. I also ate 3 ½ ounces of protein foods which was under the 5 ounces that the meal plan calls for.
For the final day, I did not reach any of my recommended portion sizes for the daily target food groups. However, I did consume too many fats, sodium, and saturated fats. This was a result of eating fast foods and process foods. I also ate too many unhealthy snacks this day such as chips, cookies, and pastries.
I plan to make some modifications to my current diet in order to reach my goal weight. My task will be strictly sticking to the Meal Plan A on the Super Tracker website. I will have to closely monitor my portion sizes. This will insure that I don’t go under my target daily food groups or exceed these target foods.
A few nutrients that I can add to my diet are: potassium, vitamin D, Dietary Fiber, and calcium. I can gain potassium by eating bananas. Potassium helps with heart function, as well as smooth and skeletal muscle contractions. By in taking lima beans, peas, or broccoli I will be able to make sure that my body receives dietary fiber. Fiber helps with
digestion. Some nutrient rich food that I could add to my diet are: Greek yogurt, beans, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and sunflower seeds. If I modify my current diet to only include 1500 calories per day and make sure to eat the target daily food groups then I should reach my goal weight if these methods are paired with exercise.
As labeled on the estimated daily calorie needs for adults chart, I am an active man under the group age of 19-30 years old. As per mentioned on the chart I need 3000 calories per day to remain healthy. After looking at Canada’s food guide, I became aware about the recommended number of food guide servings per day for various age groups.
Susanne’s original customized food pyramid was generated for a goal to lose weight. Her target calories per day are
For the second phase of the Military Diet Menu, you are allowed to snack, but you ought to limit your total food consumption to 1500 calories each day. You should limit your food portions to a modest amount to mimic the portions of the first phase.
The dietary goal for total fat intake is 20 to 35% of total calories. How did your fat intake compare to the stated goal? (6 pts.)
According to the Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) website food pyramid, two to three servings of the meats, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts group are recommended. Joe consumed 18 servings. This is six times the recommended amount.
The question comes up again; “How is your diet?” Jessica revisited her diet analysis from the first week of class. She noticed that some things have changed and some things, unfortunately, have not changed. She knew that some things would not change because of the hectic and busy semester and summer she had ahead of her but the things that did change surprised her. This class did some good for her, but she still needs some work on her diet and nutrition.
... like tuna, mackerel, and salmon. some dairy products, orange juice, soy milk, and some cereals. The only mineral that was the least of the 100% recommended by my DRI was potassium, Which I plan to get from bananas like I stated before, avocados and cantaloupe.
Overall, I am pleased with the changes that I have made to my diet, and plan to continue working towards my goals. In order to accomplish my goals in the future, I will try to slowly increase my fruit, vegetable, and whole grain consumption. Another goal that I need to work on will be to slowly limit the amount of meat products that I consume. Incorporating these changes will help me to accomplish my goals of increasing my calories and decreasing my protein intake to the recommended values set by the Dietary Reference intakes. As long as I can continue to practice these healthier ways of eating, I am sure to have a longer and healthier life and decrease my risks of chronic diseases as I age.
I would plan my meals out for the day and place them in the system and see what my outcome would be before I cook or prepare them from me and my son. I also tied to bake a lot of my foods and not fry them. I eliminated a lot of salts and sodium from my diet as will. The food tracker counts everything! I made to sure not to substitute to many to snacks to replace my craving of bread. Me and my son came up with fun things to eat like the old school peanut butter and celery with raisins for snacks. On the third day we actually ate nothing but veggies for dinner like asparagus, corn, and sliced Irish potatoes. The meal was very different but for my son to like it I was shocked. I even
I was born in one of the countries in Asia, and our staple food is rice. Rice is always at the center of the table, and the rest of the viand surrounds it. Here in the United States, my household still eat rice every day, accompanied by cooked vegetables and meat. My food choices are influenced by culture and family. Vegetables and fruits of my choice are abundant at the International Market and other Asian grocery stores. Vegetables are also available for a cheaper price at the farmers market. I myself buy these foods to ensure its freshness, prepare and cook them for my entire family. Inspired by Asian and American cuisine, our food is prepared with variety of cooking styles; such as dry like barbecues, baked and fried, with sauce
...e completely healthy attempting to avoid my punishment and then there were days where I ultimately caved and failed at eating well. On those days, I followed the rules I set in place and worked out as I said I would that evening. Part of the time my boyfriend would inevitably cause me to falter by cooking a nice fattening meal, but I don’t blame him at all considering it was up to me to make the decision to refrain from eating it. I probably didn’t do as well as I could have around lunch time or dinner but I’m glad at the fact that I did keep away from sweets and snacks throughout the entire week. I was really intrigued with getting good results for this project so I tried my hardest to actually follow the program set. Even if I don’t keep with this change after the project it’s very comforting to know I CAN eat healthy when I want and I CAN workout if I need too.
Since we have been learning about nutrition in class, our task was to record a food log. Nutrition requires a well-balanced diet containing nutrient and vitamins like amino acids and fatty acids. Over the past seven days I have been recording and have been looking very carefully at my intake of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and fats. In our task, the objective was to record the basic foods we ate during the period of seven, but it did not require recording every single detail or our intake of food. Doing this food log was a pain and it was disturbing because I never wrote about what I ate like breakfast, lunch, dinner, or additional meals. I found this food log useful because it helped me learn what I can change in my intake of foods to make my diet healthy and to see what about my diet is affecting me from being healthy because I could affect me in the future.
My dietary habits complied with MyPlates Dietary Goals and Guidelines. I was very happy when I noticed the variety
While I was tracking my eating for these three days, I began to learn about the benefits of the food that I am eating and the nourishment that they provide for my body. I had never realized how big of a role that the food that I eat plays in my everyday life. Eating has never been something that I really think about it is just something that I do. After I looking at the data of what I eat on Choose My Plate, I realized that my eating habits are far from balanced and that I needed to work on bringing my eating habits to a better balance. While there are a lot of things that I have been doing right, there are also many things that I can work on.
Here is day one, two and three. My carbohydrate intake; Breakfast, I had four servings of frosted miniwheats (milk included) with an average of 164 carbs, 694 calories, 3g of fat, 29n g of protein and 20g of fiber. So the foods that were mostly carbs were the miniwheats and the beans, followed by the soup and the crackers.
