A health triangle is based off of 3 different factors. It consists of your social, mental, and physical health. All sides will need to be balance in order to be truly healthy. However, my health triangle can be represented by the triangle above. My health triangle is unbalanced because I have issues in certain areas I need to improve on. I am trying to balance my health triangle as best as I can to become healthy throughout my life. The base of my health triangle is my social health because I don’t find any issues in this area of my life. The reason why I think my social health is the strongest health factor for me is because I don’t find it difficult to make new friends and I enjoy being around people a lot. For example, I am currently in Phi Theta Kappa, Student Council, Math Team, Key Club, HOSA and I’m looking forward to joining more clubs in our school. This means that I meet a lot of new people that I need to interact with. Even though there are people who are negative, I can adjust my attitude towards them so I can get to know them and possibly become their friend. I believe that anyone can be positive if they tried to. I work well with others and strive …show more content…
I have enough exercise from doing yoga and hiking every weekend with my family. Any time I’m free, I try to do something active that will benefit my physical health. Although I maintain my physical health pretty well, I have a difficult time to eat 3 balanced meals everyday. For example, I skip lunch almost everyday on school days because I have a lot of meetings to attend and don’t have the time to eat. Also, I skip breakfast if I wake up late and need to get to school. I need to work on eating meals everyday to satisfy my hunger even though I have no time to. It’s difficult to stay active when I don’t eat enough meals
My social health has improved over this year drastically due to asking for support and giving support as well listening played a huge factor this year. My strengths currently are giving support, accepting others for who they are, listening and communicating. My weaknesses in my social health is that I struggle in asking for support as in how much support I give to others. I give more support to others than I choose to receive, sometimes it makes me feel used but I live on knowing that someday I will be repaid in a different manner if it means by unconditional love or
This model believes that an individual may be free from disease or physical injury however social factors that surrounds a person will determine their wellbeing. In the social dimension of health a person has to be able to interact with people, such as friends and family. According to Antonia C. Lyons and Kerry Chamberlain (2006) Health Psychology a Critical introduction ‘studies have demonstrated an association between what is called social integration and physical health, including mortality rates’. The skill to be able to build healthy relationships may give an individual a positive self-image. Poor social skills may mean that an individual may become isolated or stressed. If an individual becomes stressed and isolated they will be free of disease as they will be physically and mentally fit, however the stress will contribute to the health status of the individual. According to Charles L. Sheridan and Sally A. Radmacher (1992) Health psychology challenging the biomedical model ‘attributes like strength, health and attractiveness can be helpful in coping with

Overall, as seen in my self-assessment tool (appendix), the dimensions of health in which a change may be beneficial are my physical, emotional, environmental, spiritual and personal health promotion/disease prevention dimensions. In these dimensions I scored under 30/40 or the 75% of over which I consider to be achieving healthy living. The social and intellectual health dimensions had the highest scores, with social health being the highest at 38/40.
This also discusses health in relation to social institutions, for example family, employment and school. However, health can be defined in a number of ways, such as negative and positive. The negative is where health is perceived to be the absence of disease or abnormalities in the body. This is similar to the positive, where health focuses on the presence of certain attributes, rather than the absence of them. This is different from the World Health Organisation (WHO 2008) where health requires a person to be completely physically, mentally and socially well, but not just in the absence of disease and illness.

"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." An individual’s health fluctuates throughout their life span, but must be maintained or balanced in order for personal life goal fulfillment to occur. The health triangle is a triangle that has 3 different aspect of your everyday life. The most commonly known factor is physical health. Physical health is the body’s ability to function depending on the state of your body and how it is treated. This includes exercise, nutritions, rest, and weight managements. The remaining two factors is known as emotional/mental and social. Although it is not considered by many people, the two factors is just as important as much physical health. Mental health deals with how we think, feel, and handle or react to situations. Social health deals with how we deal with the people within your environment. By blending all sides of the triangle, you can achieve maximum health to your life. But in other words, if you lack a side, it could affect the other 2 sides as well.
healthy is a major component in ones’ overall wellbeing, more so mentally, but being healthy
Health is described as physical and mental well-being and freedom from disease, pain or defect. However, such descriptions only superficially define the actual meaning of health. There may be many occasions when individuals are not necessarily ill or in pain but may be overweight, stressed or emotionally unstable. Health is a quality of life involving dynamic interaction and interdependence among the individual’s physical state, their mental and emotional reactions, and the social context in which the individual exists. There are many factors that influence your health, but three major components contribute to general well-being: Self-awareness, a balanced diet and, regular physical activity.
Health, nutrition and fitness are the three interrelated areas that determine an individual's sense of happiness and well being.
The Health Triangle includes the aspects of physical, mental, emotional, and social health. As a teenager, I have strengths and weaknesses that contribute to all three aspects of my health. There is always was for me to improve my health as I point out where that improvement in needed.
While I was tracking my eating for these three days, I began to learn about the benefits of the food that I am eating and the nourishment that they provide for my body. I had never realized how big of a role that the food that I eat plays in my everyday life. Eating has never been something that I really think about it is just something that I do. After I looking at the data of what I eat on Choose My Plate, I realized that my eating habits are far from balanced and that I needed to work on bringing my eating habits to a better balance. While there are a lot of things that I have been doing right, there are also many things that I can work on.
