Libya dates back to the Berber tribes settling in around the North African coast as early as 3000 BC. Berber tribes were mostly farmers, and so it made sense for them to live close to a water source, such as the sea, and it was also perfect to settle in on the Libyan coast as it had the needed soil for the farmers to
Everyone’s surname has a history behind it, some surnames have been around since the very beginning of Christ and some have been moulded and reformed over the centuries. The Millar Clan has had quite a journey from Scotland all the way down to Southern Africa, to me. Some say it was originally another surname and some say that it was all made up, but I have researched the true and factual origin and formation of the Millar surname. Which I will give a brief over view to how it came to be today all the way up to me, Zane Millar.
Africa is filled with several hundred distinct tribes that all bear themselves in a different fashion, depending on each other, or even fighting each to get what they want. This exchange between the many tribes has resulted in a rich history of conflict, economic development, and culture. One small example of the possible hundreds of tribes is the Mossi tribe, who reside right at the border of sub- Saharan Africa, in Burkina Faso and also the second largest ethnic group in Cote D'ivoire . While a relatively small tribe compared to the likes of the Zulus or the Dinka, their tribe is made up of roughly 3.5 million people, which is still quite a large number. The Mossi are neighboring the people of the Dogon, Kurumba, Gourmantche,Gurunsi, Bisa,Dagomba, and Sisala tribes. The Mossi have an official language called More, pronounced Moray, that is spoken by the them and most of the population of Burkina Faso, as well as about 60,000 people in Togo and Mali. Like many African languages, More uses pitch to distinguish the meaning of words and phrases. Their political was very closely connected with their religion, so as the Muslim religion began to spread throughout Africa, they resisted conversion to the religion even as most of the tribes around them accepted the religion. This may be why there are some Muslim influences within Mossi society. As Africa was being colonized by Europeans, the Mossi were one of the last tribes to be colonized, and when French colonists conquered them in 1896-97, taxes were imposed that impelled many of the Mossi to move to Cote D'ivoire to earn money. While they did not leave their families behind, many Mossi men went south to Cote D'ivoire in between crop-growing seasons and would return with the money th...

In a world where the government censors all books and knowledge, replaced with advanced technology that limits people's curiosity, Guy Montag goes against this way of life by escaping his society and gains his own knowledge and individuality. Over the course of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the technology in Montag’s society affects and limits the connections and emotions shared with their families and others. In this case, Mildred and Montag's marriage and Mildred's strong bond with her parlor wall are true examples of how technology hurts and helps. To start, Mildred limited knowledge and advanced technology, she doesn’t know how to communicate to others empathy and her emotions. Montag felt sick after the rough night he had experienced at work, and complained to Mildred about why he didn’t want to miss a day.
West African Kingdoms It is generally accepted by scholars and scientists today that Africa is the original home of man. One of the most tragic misconceptions of historical thought has been the belief that Black Africa had no history before European colonization. Whites foster the image of Africa as a barbarous and savage continent torn by tribal warfare for centuries. It was a common assumption of nineteenth-century European and American Whites - promoted by the deliberate cultivation of pseudoscientific racism - that Africans were inferior to Whites and were devoid of any trace of civilization or culture.
There is a diversity of tribes that the human society was once uninformed of its existence. Until the 1970, mankind was unaware of the Korowai society existence. The Korowai also known as Kolufu are from the southwestern part of the western part of New Guinea. The Korowai tribe follows a common language, economic system, and an exceptional lifestyle. They practice rituals and have incredible architectural knowledge. In the verge of extinction the Korowai tribe continues to practice their unique culture and traditional rituals.

In 2003, the United States began accepting for non-forced migration the largest 'single' group of African refugees to date. Members of this group, comprised of over 13,500 'Somali Bantu' refugees, have since been resettled in various parts of the United States. Although this population of minority Somali nationals has been labeled, for the purposes of humanitarian response, under the single ethnonym 'Somali Bantu', it is misleading in that it implies a cohesive ethnic identity for a group that is diverse in number of ways. Held in common, however, is a history of persecution and discrimination that is the reason for the creation of the ethnonym by western humanitarian aid workers, as well as a main driver behind its evolution as an identity.
..., town by town, to brutalize men, women and children, the world refused to stand idly by”. This refers to the notion that when one state is suffering, that is when international relations has to kick into gear and help out. But was there an incentive for the international system to help Libya(oil maybe?). Specifically a unipolar superpower like the US. They didn’t help in Tunisia or Egypt, why Libya in particular? During the revolution, NATO backed the Libyan rebels and cause them to win vey battles during the civil war. US made a promise to continue to help Libya in its’ pursuit of democracy, but it looks as though Libya is going to have to figure this part of it fate on its own as most countries are staying away at the moment. But when the economy is up and running, and oil production is back at its peaks, What will the international system look like for Libya then?
Libya, though very dry and uninhabited, contains much history and ancient architecture. It is a very interesting country, and to think that that much land can be covered by flat desert is amazing. Libya is a well run country and very populated considering the conditions.
