The ability to connect with other students and identify within the community, communicate with each other in a trusting environment, and develop relationships through expression of individual personalities. Social presence is open communication and group cohesion with my fellow students, which is important as we collaborate through online assignments. As a student, social presence has promoted successful learning outcomes and satisfaction in online learning. In addition, social presence has lead to increased interaction and engagement with the students. Social presence was encouraged by requiring the students to introduce themselves and exchange comments. students. Students had the option to use email, Skype, google hang out or google doc for group planning and assignments, whichever tool they found most effective and convenient. The instructor provides activities and assignments that require critical thinking in groups and independently offering a forum where students can demonstrate the application of their knowledge. Furthermore, instructors must provide a variety of instructional techniques to move students to stronger understanding and eventual greater learning independence. In conjunction with the students, the role of the instructor plays a major factor in helping students reach the highest levels of inquiry. The cognitive presence has enabled me to apply and resolve problems as I critically think to come up with individualized plan of care for patients. The application of the newly gained knowledge in the clinical has prepared me for my future career. Cognitive presence was promoted through challenging assignments that required critical thinking or application of concepts learned in the course such as discussion questions and collaborative group presentations. Course activities were laid out to intellectually engage learners in the course content. Teaching presence lays the course framework throughout the program and made it possible as a student to realize the intended outcomes, perceived learning, satisfaction, and sense of community.
The teaching presence has been effective as instructors give directions for assignment completion. Through minimal or direct involvement, instructors can facilitate student activities was they critically think while completing discussions and course activities. Strong and active presence of instructor has allowed me to develop a sense of community and learning. Teaching presence was established first by structuring the course into accessible weekly learning units divided into weekly modules on a sidebar. In addition, a course library, technical help, daily or weekly announcements, grading, and communication tools were also included. The beginning of the term, the faculty and the students posted and shared personal lives and interests to build familiarity among students and the faculty. Instructions for the course assignments and rubrics were provided and the instructor participated by providing feedback in a timely manner to the students questions and responses on the discussion

College helps students learn interpersonal skills. Being in college is way for students to socialize better. Living on campus students have many opportunities to interact with many different types of people. Students also can develop better social skills whether it is by partying or joining different clubs and organizations. “According to Arthur Chickering's "Seven Vectors" student development theory, ‘developing mature interpersonal relationships’...

The five articles presented common themes about educational learning. They illustrate the need for teacher reflection and adjustment to meet students’ needs, establishing quality rapport and providing students strategies become an active learners and involved in the learning process through and monitoring their own understanding. Digital communication has become the most frequented and effective platform of our generation’s form of instant communication. Within the most recent years of our technological development, we were able accelerate our communication skills via popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. These new platforms have allowed us to advance our society in a unified channel, where everyone is connected anywhere in the world at any time. Due to the fact that social media is a relatively new and growing platform, we have come across issues that we are beginning to fall in the allure of getting lost in our own fictional persona’s, while losing touch with ourselves in the real world.
The social skills aspect of college is highly advantageous for a student to develop socially. It benefits the students to build a branch of colleagues that are interested in the same program or has the same academic standard as them. In an online platform this experience would be missed out on especially since the freshman year of the students term is being
A learner’s ability to interact with others and attitude toward learning can have a profound impact on student achievement. According to the Grasha-Riechmann Student Learning Style Scales (Grasha, 1996), six categories—independent, dependent, competitive, collaborative, avoidant, and participant—are used to describe student learning styles. These different learning styles affect how much support the instructor needs to provide. Also, having an understanding of student learning styles is important so that instructors offer plenty of opportunities for the students to feel comfortable in their class.
i will discuss how I evolved as a teacher, how i felt about my session and how happy i was with the outcome. I prepared myself to my teaching session by using credible resources to find my information, i decided to use a variation of communication and learning theories to give a balanced session. I gave a handout to each student, asked students question t get them involved and organised a quiz at the end of the session to reinforce the learning within the session.
“Social interaction and social presence are addressed by allowing users to collaborate and communicate with peers either using the system or external applications for online collaboration or communication.” (Kozuh) In other words in order for social interaction to occur Kozuh does a terrible job explaining that the subject or in this case college student has to present or interact with the system in order to have success on online collaboration. If students do not use the school sites then it is a waist of time and money for the school to have them. Social media like Twitter or Facebook is being used as a tool to connect students with their professor in a more modern and up to date. Every school campus offers student’s sites in which they are able to connect with other students and professors, but the sites that school offer are not very common. R. Junco, G. Heiberger and E. Loken, the authors of the article “The effect of Twitter on college student engagement and grades” discuss their semester long study on whether or not Twitter could be used to improve the learning of college students. The author’s main arguments is that by incorporating social media like Twitter into the curriculum would improve the ways that the students interact with their classes and professor, which would help them get the most out of their classes. By having students feel more comfortable and know
The learning environment of universities we experience today greatly differ from what our parents used to experience. Technology is omnipresent in our daily lives and that the use of technology in higher education is on an increasing trend. In the past, instructors were using chalkboards and face-to-face interaction to communicate and convey ideas. However, with advancement in technology, exchange of ideas and communication can be done through the internet or other gadgets. Technology has a positive impact on higher education through the establishment of an effective teaching method, improved communication and accessibility, and the reduction of cost.
Who knew a single building could be the most relaxing place for students. This single building holds the key to all the resources on campus. With the peacefulness that it provides, the student’s journey to understanding whatever material he or she needs starts there. Everything that a student needs to succeed and make something out of themselves is provided in this building. From the books to the computers and the tutors provided, students are able to conquer anything that they need help me or might not understand. The library also assures the students a place where you can sit down and catch a breath from the chaos outside.
In the course itself and in each module students would be provided with opportunities to interact and connect with other students and the instructor. Discussion boards were built into each module to facilitate communication, collaboration, and interactivity. Additional group exercises were developed to further foster the development of collaboration and community building within the course.
“With face to face interaction you develop lifelong contacts, memories and experiences ... These types of interactions humanize the educational experience in a way that online learning does not.”

The physical classroom environment is designed to promote collaborative learning and group work. To address the issue of inattentiveness whereby the students are not doing their work, we can arrange to have inattentive students to sit with more attentive students such that the positive peer influence can help the child focus better. To better engage students, this seating arrangement allows for small group activities to help students to take a break from the didactic teaching style and apply the knowledge they have learned in the lesson.
Face to face students also gain from socialization with peers and interaction with teachers. According to Association for talent development, (2016),”One of the key elements of the learning process is the dynamic relationship shared between
