Determination is very important in 6th grade and many events boost my determination. I feel many things contribute to having a strong determination. Mostly, I believe being motivated to have determination to do something, brings out the best in me. Some things that make me feel determined us my transition from Presidents to Patriots, having a good grade and doing social activities.


The largest boost in my determination happens when I joined AP. All of my former classmates from Atherton Hough, who would go to Central went to AP. I felt as if I wasn’t smart enough to be in AP. Through sports I get to be more social and make more friends. I get to talk about topics both me and the person I am talking to knows about. I try to play at-least one sport or other activities year around so my brain doesn’t get hardwired to think only academically. I believe a little fun goes a long way when talking about determination. If you are determined enough to shoot 5 hoops in a 5 minute game, then you can definitely write a 5 paragraph essay on wax paper.



Another major part of my determination in 6th grade is having A average in all my subjects. This inspires and brings determination to be to have an A+ grade and get more privileges not only in school and home. Because of my determination for a good grade through 6th grade, I try to keep up with all the work even if I am absent, dismissed, or present. I feel if I get an A or A+ average, I am equal to my peers in AP even though I missed the first month.


In conclusion, determination is a key part of surviving 6th grade. If I were a book on essentials to survive 6th grade, determination would be top of the list along with fun and hard work.With determination, I can help myself realize anything from MCAS to 5 paragraph essays can be
