The definition of writing is written work that regards to style or quality. Writing can be used as a career, a hobby, or a way to cope with feelings. For me, writing is one of my favorite hobbies. I started writing in middle school, and I have not stopped writing since. Throughout the years, writing has defined me and taught me how to not only to grow as a writer, but it taught me how to grow as a person as well. Writing is a hobby that defines me in three major ways, courage, strength, and determination.

Writing defines me as having courage to voice my opinion and emotions. Growing up, I was never given a chance to voice my opinion. As I got older, I noticed I could voice my opinion through writing on a piece of paper, and it gave me courage. I created the voice I never thought I had when I would write. In addition to having the courage to voice my opinion, I started to open up about my emotions too. Writing was the only way I could voice my emotions when I was younger. From the time I started writing to my previous years now, I have shown a lot of strength. Throughout the years, I have had to face adversities. These adversities affected me like they would affect anyone else. Although writing helped me through all my struggles in my life. It created a way for me to have enjoyment and cope with my feelings. It became a way for me to become a stronger person. I would write about my hardships in life and find ways to solve them while I am writing. When I would write, I never felt alone throughout these adversities. Writing was there for me and I had the strength keep fighting when I would write.
