Writing
The definition of writing is written work that regards to style or quality. Writing can be used as a career, a hobby, or a way to cope with feelings. For me, writing is one of my favorite hobbies. I started writing in middle school, and I have not stopped writing since. Throughout the years, writing has defined me and taught me how to not only to grow as a writer, but it taught me how to grow as a person as well. Writing is a hobby that defines me in three major ways, courage, strength, and determination.
Writing defines me as having courage to voice my opinion and emotions. Growing up, I was never given a chance to voice my opinion. As I got older, I noticed I could voice my opinion through writing on a piece of paper, and it gave me courage. I created the voice I never thought I had when I would write. In addition to having the courage to voice my opinion, I started to open up about my emotions too. Writing was the only way I could voice my emotions when I was younger. As I got older, writing gave me the courage to type how I felt, and start saying what I was feeling. Courage is one of the reasons that defines me when it comes to writing.

Having strength is another thing writing defines me as.
From the time I started writing to my previous years now, I have shown a lot of strength. Throughout the years, I have had to face adversities. These adversities affected me like they would affect anyone else. Although writing helped me through all my struggles in my life. It created a way for me to have enjoyment and cope with my feelings. It became a way for me to become a stronger person. I would write about my hardships in life and find ways to solve them while I am writing. When I would write, I never felt alone throughout these adversities. Writing was there for me and I had the strength keep fighting when I would write. To me, writing made me achieve strength throughout all the battles I went through. Writing defines me as having
strength. Lastly, writing defines me as passionate and determined. Passionate and determination play a big role in why writing is one of my favorite hobbies. To me, writing has always been a passion of mine. When I write it is about what I am most passionate in. I write poems, stories, persuasive papers, and journals. As well as when I write I am very determined throughout my writings. I am determined to accomplish goals, so I write about them. I also write about them in order to make them happen. It gives me a sense of responsibility to pursue the goals I write about. Writing gives me the determination and passion to do anything I put my mind too. Without writing, I would not be as determined or passionate in my life. To conclude, writing is one of my favorite hobbies that has defined me in a lot of ways. It has not only made me grow as a writer but as a person too. Throughout my life, I had gone through a plethora amount of things, and I would not be the person I am now if it were not for writing. Writing gave me the voice I was too scared to use. It gave me strength through my darkest moments in life. Lastly, writing gave me passion and determination to accomplish anything I put my mind to and helped me have hope for the future to come. Writing is not only something I enjoy doing, but it is also impacted the person I am today. The definition of writing may be written works that include style or quality, but to me, the definition of writing is a portal into an exciting and safe place.
Writing is a type of art because it requires you to think and be creative in the way you want it to be. I have a diary that I wrote almost everyday. They help me think about my day and sometimes turn my bad day into a good day. I write whatever comes into my head at that moment, and reflect on my day. Writing make me think deeper to what happen and help me turn my negative thought to positive. Writing is a very powerful tool. When I write, I have the power to change the story. I am the author of my own story so I can be as creative as I want.
What is writing? This is a question that is rarely discussed among people. I believe that most people have written something at least once in their lifetime. Yet if asked this question, no one can undoubtedly explain what the word “writing” means. To me, writing is a way to express your feelings on paper. In the articles “Why I write” by Joan Didion and George Orwell, each author expresses a different opinion on what good writing is. Orwell states that a good author should not put his/her personality into their writings, “And yet it is also true that one can write nothing readable unless one constantly struggles to efface one 's own personality” (Orwell 5). Orwell believes that what makes a piece of writing exceptional is based on how interesting
The very first chapter we read of Mindful Writing changed my perspective to see that anyone and everyone can be a writer. Brian Jackson, the author of Mindful Writing, wrote, “In this book I want to convince you that anyone writing anything for any reason is a writer…Writing is not something we do just in school. It is a vital means of influence in all facets of life.” It was through that very first reading that I began to think about writing as more than just a dreaded part of school, and I began to think of myself as more than just a student forced to write. Our very first assignment, My Writing Story, helped me to reflect on my identity as a writer. I realized that I was a writer every time I wrote in my journal or captioned an Instagram post. Throughout the semester, as I came to love writing more with each paper I wrote, I was able to create my identity as a writer. I learned that I loved research and analyzing others’ thoughts and ideas, but that writing simply on my own opinions, wasn’t my favorite past time. Through the countless readings this semester, I saw which writing styles I loved and which didn’t speak to me. Each day of class, I chipped away at creating my identity as a writer, and I’m grateful for the lessons that helped me shape and realize that
In conclusion writing helps me communicate with others in different ways. Writing is a remarkable form of communication, because it lets me acknowledge my identity through my living experience. It also helps me connect and communicate with my loved ones living abroad. Finally writing lets me touch hearts by composing musical lyrics.
What is writing? How do we write? These are question we all have on our minds before we write something. In the essay, what is writing? Barthes describes writing as an instrument of language and how writing has affected humans throughout history. Writing has many different components to it. Style, expression, freedom, and language. In his essay, Barthes explains how writing affects everyone and the different ways it has its affects.
Writing is a way in which a person can express their thoughts and ideas through the use of words. Everybody has their own writing styles. Some may consider theirs as inspirational while others think of it to be bad. Writing requires a lot of patience and time. In my case, writing has never been my favorite thing to do. I am no Shakespeare and I never will be, writing has always made me feel uncomfortable. In the past, I had always considered writing to be one of the most difficult tasks. I often wrote about topics that were not of my interest. I rarely did any writing out of school or for leisure as most people do. I only wrote because the teacher asked us to. Writing has always been forced onto me. Even though my writing isn't that great, I've felt that I've never been given the freedom to express my voice. Academic writing has always made me anxious. And, anxiety had resulted in my procrastination. Even though I consider writing to be one of the toughest tasks, I've felt that giving myself enough time to think allows me to do better. Silence helps me think beyond horizons. However, the fear of impressing someone, the anxiety and frustration is what makes me a developing writer.
Another one of my strengths as a writer and a student is my determination to complete every assignment to the best of my ability. I have never been the type of student that does not get her work done, whether it be an essay for English or a workbook page for Geometry. I work diligently in all my classes and aim to learn as much as I can from every assignment. Since English is not my best subject, I work twice as hard to improve every day and bring out the best writer in me. My determination is what drove me to enhance my weaknesses and polish my strengths.
In my opinion some individuals, counting myself, is thought that writing is just expressing yourself either by typing or handwriting something to someone and expressing what the person is feeling. I have learned that writing is a thoughtful process, is more than writing what is in your mind. Is thinking beyond what we are reading, is to put my thoughts in order and that everything that I am writing is coherent and have a relationship. One of the challenges that I face every day is trying not to summarize everything in one single sentence or even in a paragraph.
Writing is a tool that is universally known and used as a primary source of communication. It is a process that is taught, practiced, and perfected throughout the course of one’s life. The process of learning to write begins in your early school years and continues to develop all the way through high school, college, and even beyond college. However, once you get to college writing tends to become a little bit more challenging and is typically more articulate. Writing can help you gain more knowledge and also help you to explore and discover new ideas. In terms of college writing, it is the process of being able to express your thoughts and ideas in an intellectual and effective way.
There are many different forms and styles used in writing. Writing is a form of communication that is used to document and express ideas people have. Through the years as people grow and learn knew ways of writing, writing awareness of a person will evolve into a much higher level of thinking. From the first term paper a person writes in high school to the papers they hand in at the college level, the writing will have matured over the years. The authors of writing develop new and more sophisticated ways in expressing themselves through the words they use in writing. Throughout history writers have found ways in which they can achieve the goals of gaining the readers attention and keep them interested. A good form of literature doesn't just write out on paper by itself, much preparation and ideas need to be worked out before it is finished. An author can improve his or her writing by giving thought to different ways of expressing their writing. One way of improving their writing is by using voice. Voice can offer writers different ways of explaining their thoughts.
Writing. Something that we are all familiar with, some more than others. We use it in our everyday lives, going about the day and using it to accomplish what needs to be done. In the world, some people view writing as a tedious activity that is unnecessary, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. As you are aware, writing is always changing; adapting to the times to suit the needs of us humans. As time goes on, the technology that we invent is changing how we use writing and slowly the definitions of writing are becoming hazier.

I personally do not enjoy writing like most people would feel about reading a dictionary. I am cautiously treading water with every word I type. I have always found writing to be a tedious process. I have never found ease in wording something the way I want to; therefore, it usually sounds so much better in my head. I’ve never considered myself to be comfortable with writing in general. For example, I always had a hard time telling if I needed a comma in a sentence or not. Sometimes it was obvious, but it seems more confusing most of the time.
‘WRITE EVERYDAY’ it is a common advice. Indeed writing is an important and inescapable part of our daily life. When a person learns how to write daily, a whole world of possibilities open for him. He can pen up his thoughts, create a story and can make his own illusionary world. Writing promotes one’s ability to pose worthwhile questions. Writing is something which is enduring, it always leaves an impact on others. It makes thinking visible. Writing daily makes you seem more professional and genius.
During my time in high school I have been assigned many, many papers and writing assignments. Some have been hard, some have been easy. Some have been long, some short. Some purposeful, and others, pointless. Some writing assignments have not come especially easy for me.
