According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary the word Adaptable means to be capable of, suited to, or contributing to adaptation or to have adaptive traits that enhance survival. This is the word that I would describe myself with because although its one word it has so many meanings to it that describes me. This word in particular is one that stands out because of when you’re in survival mode you have to adapt to your current situation or to be an adaptable person in general is a good way to be successful. Nonetheless you do need intelligence to be adaptable but over time I’ve learned that your willingness to adapt and your ability to also comes into play. To be flexible is to be confident, optimistic, tolerant, and empathetic. When being confident you need to believe in yourself and trust that your judgments are right. I’ve always been confident in my-self that I can do anything if honestly try and that everything will work out the way it need to. As a result of having this mind-set I became a very optimistic person always having a positive outlook on life. The simplest definition of adaptation sees it as the process by which an organism that adjusts to the environment, both in physical and mental conditions. It is a dynamic process of mutual influence in the ultimate goal of maintaining life in changing circumstances. However, adaptation does not refer only to organisms, but also to the organization to which we can apply the rules of living systems because they are not just material goods but rather the people.
Firstly, people who show an optimism bias feel more happy and satisfied with their life. These people are also more in control of and engaged in their life’s goal, they will not just think about happy thoughts and wait for life to pass, instead they will be engaged in a meaningful life and do whatever it takes to accomplish their goals. They are also less likely to give up on a difficult situation and will cope with it. Ontogenetic adaptations can be physiological and psychological. Plasticity is the ability to adjust one’s behavior and cognition in response to environmental demands. This was necessary for them to be able to deal with current conditions and to foresee future ones.
A personality trait that lets you adjust to new conditions is the definition of adaptability. With me always had a busy schedule, things can often change at the last minute. Whether it’s in the plans that I had or in a soccer game or even at home, I’ve always adapted well to it without making a big deal about it. With a busy schedule and usually being on the road on the weekend, I adapted to doing homework in the car when necessary, staying up considerably late to take time with my animals and lastly is having a longer day at school than most other people. I cared for her; I put myself in her shoes and made myself available to her; I always sat at her bedside, held her hand, asked her how she felt, offered and administered some pain medications as needed, repositioned her every hour, gave her bed baths, assisted her with feeding, drinking and elimination activities, snuggled her with her favourite blanket when she was cold, talked to her with suiting words and listened to her with empathy while I encouraged her to be strong and happy. I sheared in her joy every time she expressed her gratitude to me and I found satisfaction in her healing, thereby finding my own healing. On our third day together, she passed happily with a quiet hiccup and her passing was the most peaceful passing I have witnessed.

Optimism is generally seen as healthy, while pessimism is generally seen as dangerous. The difference between optimism and pessimism is a difference in perspective and mindset. But which has better consequences for one’s health? Assuming that it is moderated, pessimism is healthy for a person’s well-being. Pessimism is more realistic than optimism because it prepares people for an unpredictable and possibly negative life. Pessimism is also better for expectations compared to future surprises.
