I am writing this letter with unwavering confidence in recommending Mr. Wayne Pondexter for admission in your undergraduate program.
As I have watched Wayne develop, I have grown to know him as a poised and respectful young man. This is mirrored through his commitment to excellence in all of his endeavors. Wayne incessantly demonstrated exemplary academic performance, displayed strong leadership skills, and has embodied an exceptional sense of integrity and character.
Wayne is a talented, intelligent student whose strong values and respect for others make him an ideal candidate for your undergraduate program. If granted acceptance into your program, I am most certain that he will continue to continue to grow and achieve great things in
Attending Purdue allow him to get higher education, something that most African American did not have. He attended it at a very young age which is even more impressive. His mind for engineering and math grew was developed even more. I learned from this that when you followed your passion, it could take you anywhere. If he did not get higher education, he would not have been such a genius and he would not have his dream job. The most impressive thing about Crosthwait to me is how hardworking he is. He was so hardworking that he got a grant for college at around 11 and the graduate at 15 instead of dropping out. He has inspired me to hard work and follow my passion, to set an impossible goal and then achieve
Using martial arts is a unique way of trying to connect back to his ancestors and be prideful about his culture. Many aboriginals are taught in residential schools that being First Nations is something to be ashamed of, but Wayne does not want to be ashamed: “Lillian spent long hours teaching the boy the intricacies of the Anishnawbe, so know he spoke it better than most seventy–year-olds” (150). Wayne is trying to live a more traditional life than his sister, but the world has become less and less traditional in its own way. By living on an island by himself, Wayne is trying to live off the land. He couldn’t do it on the reserve, but he can easily do it on the island. He is also spiritual like an aboriginal, and demonstrates this spirituality a couple times. One example of him doing this is “I know that she was contributing to what we call the circle of life. She passed on so that somewhere out there, a baby could be born in her place.” (187) She was clearly in tune with nature and spiritually, and I think that some of that passed on to Wayne. Wayne seems to understand that his mother was okay with dying, just so that a child could be born. In his eyes, it could not be stopped and a family with a young child would be made. His martial arts use a variety of animal tactics to be more tactful. “It took me a while, but I have based a style of fighting on each of the
More often than not, the quality of leadership lies deep within certain people. It is not a quality that people build or develop easily. The basis of good leadership is personality. Those who have dynamic and charismatic personalities can lead, if they choose to do so. Malcolm X possessed these types of qualities. Throughout his life, Malcolm—born Malcolm Little—always showed a proficiency for leadership, as evidenced by his roles as seventh-grade class president, as leading hustler ...
Wayne Gretzky was just as gifted in his earlier years as his latter years of hockey; he was a better player than the older kids on his team. According to the web page “Wayne Gretzky Biography”, Wayne was born in Brantford, Ontario on January 26, 1961. His parents, Phyllis and Walter Gretzky, had four other children: Keith, Glen, Brent, and Kim Gretzky (Zoll 1). Wayne was the eldest of five, and took interest in hockey at a young age, sparked by his father’s love for hockey. When Wayne turned six, his father constructed an ice rink in his backyard. The construction of this rink greatly helped Wayne in his early career as a hockey player, because it allowed him to practice daily. The main reason for Walter building the rink was for “self preservation”; Walter spent countless hours freezing at the local park’s pond, while he watched Wayne skate (“Gretzky Biography”). While he continued to improve upon himself, he started playing in leagues that were higher than his age group (“Gretz...
I will continuously improve my character by being active in our community, and seeking additional opportunities to better myself in the near the future. In conclusion I'm sure that everyone has someone inspiring in their lives but I couldn’t have asked for a better role model in my life. He always encourages me to never give up and strive to be the best. You can love him or hate him but to me he’s
“As an athlete he’s dropped his 200-meter and hurdle times. He’s become a leader on the track and he’s matured in the classroom. He’s really become an all-around student athlete, and the face you’d want for your organization.”

To sum up, Obama has always been and will always be a great example of how to succeed in spite of difficulties or obstacles. Such a strong personality is worth to be admired. Obama has left me with positive feelings about the
Oscar Rodriguez started off being determined. Coming to Florida without the ability to speak fluent English, then attending community college shows this. There is no way simply being in the right place at the right time had anything to do with this man’s success. The desire to succeed, coupled with sheer determination are the two main reasons for the end result of success.
Hello, Mrs. Evans. I hope all is well. Though you probably remember me asking you this favor, I was considering you write me a college letter of recommendation. I acknowledge you do not know much about me besides my academic background, thus making it hard to write a recommendation letter. I remember you asking me a list of interest to help in writing the letter, but I realize that might not make a convincing letter. So I decide to summarize a little about myself.
