Walking races (also called racewalking) are an athletic competition similar to running races but not completely the same. In walking races, individuals walk at fast speeds, follow specific rules, and travel long distances. A popular Olympic sport, walking races are challenging because they require the participant to keep one foot on the ground at all times and the athletes back toe can't be lifted until the front heel hits the ground. Participants are also required to keep their back leg straight until the person has moved forward and is ready to take another step.

* Participants must walk in a specific way and carry their body in a set position. Judges look at how a person is racewalking. If they are not doing the race in the proper way the participant can be disqualified.
* When walking ,one foot must always be in contact with the ground. Not keeping one foot on the ground can get a participant disqualified.
* Unsportsmanlike conduct can disqualify participants: competitors that drive, cut, and block other athletes; competitors who put obstacles in front of other participants.
* Usually racewalking contestants are given advanced warning if they commit an offense. When committing a second offense, they are immediately disqualified.
* In a fast walking race conducted on a track, a disqualified participant must leave the track. If a fast walking race is held on a road or highway the disqualified participant must must immediately leave the racing area.
* If circumstances, like in highway races, do not permit referees to notify disqualification to participants, then they will be told after the race ends.
* We recommend using the white flag as a warning sign to notify the other referees of a race that someone was

A runner must use a strategy that is specific to that style of racing. If a distance runner attempts to apply pacing to a short sprint he has lost the race before approaching the start. Although racing strategies differ between every individual race it is possible to associate some basic strategies used in particular types of races. These techniques are common amongst the runners of a particular event but vary compared to runners of different types of races.

Track and field-style events are among the oldest of all sporting competitions, as running, jumping and throwing are natural and universal forms of human physical expression. The first recorded examples of organized track and field events at a sports festival are the Ancient Olympic Games. At the first Games in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece, and only one event was contested which was the stadion footrace. We have track athletes to distinguish who is the best athlete for the event in which they are competing in and the athletes can be distinguished from high school, college, and even countries. All tracks athletes come in different shape and sizes, but one thing they
There are even steps for cross country runners who aren’t as good as everyone else. The most important step in my opinion is to master walking without anyone seeing you. By doing this it lets people think that you hadn’t walked at all so they will think that you have more endurance than you actually do. Next when you do walk, fast walk. That way your pace isn’t as slow, therefore; it makes it even less noticeable that you walked. Lastly don’t compare yourself to anyone else in the race. You are doing what you can do they just may have been running for a lot longer than you. Set a goal of how fast you want to run and really work towards it. A good thing
With many runners claiming that barefoot running is better than shod running while several others believe otherwise, it’s fairly difficult to know which one to follow. However, for runners who intend to transition from running with shoes on to running barefoot, podiatrists advise to take one step at a time and do so gradually to avoid injuries.
What is Race? Race is defined as a category, or a population of a species differing geographically, morphologically, or genetically from other populations of the same species. The differences between humans began a long time ago because humans lived in different parts of the world. Originally all humans belonged to one pure race. Most of todays’ people now have mixed racial ancestry. For example, some children in America come from an African American and Caucasian background. Race is somewhat not acceptable to humans because the division of humans into discrete types does not represent the true nature of human biological variation. In some societies race is an important social category. People from ancient societies would not separate people because of their physical differences, but by class, religion, language and even class. A trait or, gene, or characteristic can distinguish one’s race from another race. Scientist in Europe, have tried to classify Homo sapiens into categories, or race, based on where they live, physical features like body size, head shape, hair texture, and skin color.
The Pentathlon was the name for the five events in Greek gymnastics: running, jumping, wrestling, discus throwing, and javelin throwing which began with the 18th Olympiad. In the wrestling event, wrestlers were anointed with oil, dusted with powder, and forbidden to bite or gouge one another. Wrestling was looked upon as a weapon-free military exercise. Since there was no weapons wrestlers that competed used their weight and strength as an advantage especially since there were no weight categories. The Javelin was thrown in the same form back in ancient times as it is thrown today. The first recorded Olympic Games had one event, a race, called the stade which is a measure of the distance of the length of the track. By 724 B.C. a two-length race was added and by 700 B.C. there were longer distance races. By 720 B.C., men participated naked, except in the foot race in armor that weighed between fifty to sixty pounds. The outfit included a helmet, greaves, and a shield that helped young men build speed and stamina in preparation for war. The Pentathlon included three running events such as the Stade, the Diaulos, and the Dolichos. The Stade was a 200 yard foot race, was the first and only Olympic event for 13 Games. The dolichos was a variable length foot race averaging twenty stades or four thousand yards for the fifteenth Olympiad. The Diaulos was a four hundred yard foot race that was instituted for the next Olympic Games. The discus was considered by ancient Greeks, an event of rhythm, precision, and finesse of a competitor to throw the discus was as important as his strength. The discus was made of stone, iron, bronze, or lead, and was shaped like a flying saucer. The Sizes were different for the boys' division, since the boys were not expected to throw the same weighted discus as the men. The athletes who competed in the jump event used lead or stone jump weights called halteres shaped like telephone receivers to increase ...

The team was disqualified on behalf of the “no taunting rule”, which includes raising your arms. A kid should be able to celebrate their own personal achievement. Unfortunately, this child, along with the rest of his teammates, cannot celebrate as it may offend the losing team, and whomever created the rules does not yearn to be “politically incorrect”. Then, there was a situation at a public school in California. A girl was told that she would not be permitted to wear a cross.
Runners are split into two groups, and both groups run a 40-yard dash twice, with an equal resting time period. In the music group, runners will run a control 40-yard dash, then take a minute to rest while listening to the song mentioned above. At the end of the section of the song, participants in this group will
