If you were on social media over the weekend, you probably saw at least one post about the movie, Deadpool. Premiering on February 12, 2016, Deadpool was released just in time for Valentine’s Day. For the ladies, it featured the handsome, Ryan Reynolds, and for the men, it delivered some action packed fighting scenes, and of course, a few explosions. Directed by Tim Miller, the film has pooled in approximately 333.4 million. While Deadpool was Miller’s big debut, it made such a killing that Deadpool 2 was confirmed to be released in 2017. Reynolds has appeared in other movies centered around superheroes, such as The Green Lantern and even playing Wade Wilson (Deadpool) in X-Men: Wolverine. He worked as a hit-man with a solid forty-nine kills. He lived with his fiancee, Vanessa, played by Morena Baccarinand, and was content with his life until his doctor delivered some bad news. When offered the opportunity to be cured, he takes it, ultimately leaving Vanessa and putting his life on the line. The “cure” doesn’t turn out as it seems, although when has it ever? Wilson becomes immortal but, with one catch. He is covered in scars and burns that make him look deformed, and therefore, cannot face Vanessa. He sets out to get revenge on the man who was in charge of the center that made him this way, Ajax, played by newcomer Ed Skrein. Ajax is the only one who can cure his deformity. Wade takes on the identity of “Deadpool”, an immortal in a red suit that looks like a knock-off of Spider Man. He does not identify as a “super hero” as he doesn’t intend to help anyone but himself. The one that stands out the most was during an action scene which took place on a main road. The camera seemed to be placed on the road as the cars zoomed over it. It then turned into a reverse angle shot. In the beginning of the movie, when Reynolds first breaks through the fourth wall, he takes the camera in his hand as he moves from the back seat of the car to the front which was unusual. Towards the end of the movie, after an especially intense action scene, there’s a crane shot which shows the enormous amount of damage that was wreaked on the city. The movie ended with a wide shot, as stated by Reynolds who incorporated that term into an indecent but undeniably humorous
