Thank you for the opportunity to present my credentials for the Business Development Associate position at Twitch. As someone who considers themselves a gamer, I have had the chance to become very familiar with Twitch over the past couple years. Whether I was using Twitch to watch live streams of “lets play” walkthrough videos, or using it to view the Ultra Music Festival, Twitch has been an essential media outlet that I utilize very often. Understanding how various internal and external partnerships can help or hinder a business is something that has always been an interest of mine. Evaluating the metrics of partners and assisting a team come to an analytically based conclusion and minimizing uncertainty truly brings me self-fulfillment. The opportunity to be a part of the Twitch team would be a dream come true because it would allow for me to do what I love to do, for a company that I am passionate about. In my tenure with the Golden State Warriors, I was a member of the corporate partnerships team and evaluated the team’s corporate partners through financial documents and various metrics. For example, with the Golden State Warriors making their transition in moving from Oakland to San Francisco, many of their corporate partners were in one or two year contracts due to their pending migration. My responsibility was to …show more content…
In addition, while studying International Business I have become familiar with the ins and outs of business-to-business operations on a global scale. This past summer I had the opportunity to serve as a Junior Research Analyst for a pharmaceutical start up in Sydney, Australia, Aruma Labs Holdings Pty. In time with Aruma Labs I assisted in monitoring Aruma’s statistical analysis, and forecasting of market and sales trends. Through my analysis, I synthesized large amounts of data into clear, concise and meaningful
For this discussion, I have chosen the sports property of the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors play in the NBA within the Pacific Division and have a large local and regional fan base in the city of Oakland and state of California. Even though the Warriors have a large fan following, there are several ways of extending the Warriors brand reach beyond the basketball court with conventional sports minded consumers and non-sports fans. In order to accomplish this, the Warriors must think outside the box and look at attracting typically unaware markets and consumers that are missing the marketing and advertising plans that are currently being used. The Warriors can use partnerships, alliances, licensing, merchandising and sponsorship activation to build the brand awareness and effectively increase their revenue.
I have always set big goals, and had even bigger dreams. However, these dreams aren’t like those of some of my classmates such as becoming a movie star or a famous soccer player, but ones of curing cancer and providing the world with answers to scientific phenomena. Should the Gatton Academy provide me the chance to take the next step toward fulfilling these dreams, very little would prevent me from attending.
Since my first visit at the Air Force Academy as a young boy, I instantly realized this is where I want to go. Ironically, I never why I wanted to go, was it my parents will or the expectations of others and myself? As I started to mature and grow, I learned more about the academy and what it really meant to become a cadet. The opportunity to have a world class education pushed me to pursue acceptance to the Academy. Going to the Summer Seminar will give me a chance to explore many aspects of cadet life to further enrich my interest in the Academy.
On the basis of these findings, I recommend that Johnson & Johnson is a considerable place for employment for someone who is seeking to be part of a pharmaceutical organization
Through my case study analysis I recommend areas that are instrumental toward increasing market share in the pharmaceutical distribution sales industry here in the US and the globe. The areas of focus are in enlargement of Retail Clinics, pharmaceutical delivery, enlargement in store branding, urban focus with organic foods, pharmacist availability, international expansion, and meet competitor coupon offers to improved market penetration both nationally and international...
Over the past years, the U.S. pharmaceutical industry R&D spending has increased at a rapid rate. Costs have been relatively stable in the preclinical phase, but have risen dramatically in the clinical phase both in terms of direct costs incurred and in time required to complete the trials.2 DiMasi reasoning for the increase in costs is from the focused development for chronic and degenerative conditions that require more costly studies for efficacy and larger clinical trial sizes.2 Some pharmaceutical companies found ways to fill their pipelines through: 1. mergers and acquisitions, 2. in-licensing new compounds, and 3. form strategic alliances and partnerships with other companies. Forming a partnership does help developing a product or drug...
The ability to compete globally is a problem all companies face. It requires a departure from traditional methods of operation and an awareness of external and internal forces that can undermine a company’s success. Thus, a clear strategic plan engineered by experienced and committed managers is necessary. B&D assumed that its past success with diversification and acquisitions inoculated them from making a mis-step. This bravado, if you will, caused B&D to ignore the warning signs when acquiring Emhart; a venture that took approximately ten years to recover from. Consequently, B&D returned to its core strategy of product innovation, quality, and concentration on profitable company acquisitions in order to remain competitive in the global market.
As a child growing up in Communist China, I woke up every morning to the blasting of People's Central Broadcasting Station from a large radio on the dresser and fell asleep every evening in the surreptitious murmuring of Voices from America from a small radio by Grandpa's pillow. By fourth grade, I figured out that the two stations often reported the same events from opposite standpoints, using different words and tones, and thus projected contradictory interpretations onto the same events. Eager to share this revelation with my grandparents, I pointed out the differences between the two stations by singing their respective theme songs and by imitating the voices of their newscasters. To my disappointment, they were much more alarmed than amused. "Don't you talk nonsense in school," Grandma warned me. "You'll bring us trouble."
The most common way that the pharmaceutical industry uses their power and influence to create lifelong customers is in the manipulation of clinical research. When a pharmaceutical company creates a new drug, it must first get the go ahead from the Foo...

Over a decade ago, Chris Johnson, Executive Vice President at Nestle, was presented with a huge project that would change the way Nestle operates. He established a “Global Business Excellence program, [which is] a worldwide initiative to implement a single set of procurement, distribution and sales management system (Steinert-Threlkeld)” and he was struggling to generate buy-in from managers. He had one chance to help managers ...
