Have you ever had to try something new? You should have at least tried something new, like a new food, video game, website, chore, etc. it could be anything. To me trying new things isn't really that hard. Yes, it might turn out bad but it might turn out good, its a 50-50 chance. Well, anyways one new thing thing have tried is switching between 7 classes. At first, I thought switching class wouldn't be that hard but I soon figured out it is actually very difficult. One way it is difficult is you only have 5 minutes to switch between classes and only 3 minutes to switch from one class to fast focus. Also there are usually clots or packs of students in the hallways that you have to push through and you get pushed and sometimes there
During my career as a student, I have moved schools a total of six times. It is a challenge to adapt to a new school and catch up with their curriculum. I personally have experienced this when I moved to Orchard Hills. I was behind in Mathematics, Language Arts, and Social Studies, and being in the honors program only made it that much harder to catch up. In
In the 2007 movie Sicko, Filmmaker Michael Moore examines America 's health-care crisis and why millions of citizens are without coverage. Moore spotlights the cases of several ordinary citizens whose lives have been shattered by governmental red tape, refusal of payment, and other health-care disasters. He explains how the system has become so challenging, and he visits countries where citizens receive free health care, as in Canada, France and the U.K.
I learned that I have a control issue and that my OCD gets in the way. I am not going to lie I contemplated several times about quitting online learning. I felt that I was not as smart as others are and when I would not get good feedback, I started to doubt my ability to go on. I am afraid to consult with my instructor for the fact of sounding less intelligent. When you got assignments that did not make sense that was because I was afraid to ask. What I enjoyed most about this class was getting a better understanding of what type of learner I am, and why I do the things I do. I never knew there was even a test that could tell you what type of learner you are. What I would change about this class is nothing. This class made you think about your learning. It did that plus some. My expectations were met because this class had a purpose to show each of us what kind of learners we are. It changed my mindset and it met my expectations
Moving to a new school, especially high school, in itself is a very daunting and
In DE/AP level classes, everything is basically harder and more fast paced than regular high school level classes because they are college courses. College courses are, for the most part, more in-depth and go through the material at a faster pace than high school classes. DE/AP level classes will probably spend one or two days on a topic or a chapter, do a couple of practice problems in class and at home, and expect the student to fully understand the topic or chapter the next day. The expectations of DE/AP level classes are considerably more strict than regular high school level classes. These classes expect much more time and effort inside and outside the classroom. They expect all time spent in the classroom to be engaged in the lecture
The hard technological innovation refers to hardware resources, while the soft one represents the information and computer software systems. The installment of hardware resources at the airports significantly helps in the prevention of crime (Andrews, Bonta & Wormith, 2011). However, criminals may use the same hardware resources to commit crimes and other associated offenses at an airport. The hardware resources include, firstly, CCTV cameras, electric fences, metal detectors, luggage screening equipment, and bullet proof teller windows and doors at the airports. These hardware installments prevent crime in their own way. Secondly, other hardware technological devices that are important in crime prevention include personal protective devices, such as maces, lifeline call mechanisms, and tasers. Thirdly, the airport security personnel need new weapons that are less lethal, but effective in crime prevention. Moreover, airports should purchase technologically advanced patrol vehicles and personal protective gear for their security officers (Sampson, Eck & Dunham, 2010).
When I was young they used to ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and until six years ago I never knew. It took me exactly eleven years until I figured out the one thing I wanted to do with my life. The very first show I performed in was Guys and Dolls, and from then on my devotion to acting only grew. I feel as though the Early Middle College Program is a good opportunity to further myself in my future goal of a Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre, as well as saving money while doing so. The Early Middle College Program is a very large stepping stone on my way to a Master’s Degree, and is the most effective way to get where I want to be.
I have always gone to school for 8 hours, and coming home after or going to practice. Now it is 2 to 3 classes a day with a lot more homework. That transition didn’t surprise me it just was weird having that much time on the day. I enjoy the classes here. The teachers are excellent at what they are supposed to do, and they treat everybody like they know them. Which is an aspect I had in high school, and I like that setting here too. I do not think the classes are challenging just more work which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how a person looks at it. I thoroughly enjoy that because besides general classes I am taking classes that I want to take to eventually get a degree, so it may be more work, but it is more work in a field I would rather learn about unlike high school. I do enjoy the time between to because I have a lot more free time than I thought I would which is unique to what I thought it would be like. Another thing that I like about the classes is that they are not too easy, but not too challenging. They have an intermediate tone to them which is probably because most of them are general education classes, but I do think that the difficulty in them is just right. Sometimes in high school it would be one extreme or another varying on the class which is why here I have 5 classes, and they all have the same kind of difficulty to them. I enjoy that because it is easier to study and work
In my time at Haddonfield Memorial High School I have choose to take some of the hardest classes and pack the most into each year. With six to seven classes and very few study halls or electives, my days are filled with academically challenging class after class. I always come home in the spring after picking schedules with the excitement that I have picked the hardest classes and have one of the most rigorous schedules. For some this may seem daunting, and at times it can be, but I also love learning, and because I have taken every class I can and pushed my self there are so many interesting things I would have never learned if I haven't done that.
The teacher comes to us. So if I get put in one classroom, I would be stuck with them for the rest of the year. In fact, when I was in 5th grade I got put into a classroom full of people that I never talked to before. At that point I knew that I was going to hate this year. After a month I started talking to people I did not know. Then I started talking to more and more people. Ever since then I loved meeting new people.
I stayed focus with it and as my class started getting done I was so focus on trying to get out early as possible.
It's always great to "get to know" yourself again. From the Learning Style Inventory I have discovered that I am a visual learner. When planning my week, or an event or even a project, it is mandatory that I write it all out on a whiteboard. If I don't visually see it, chances are there are some pieces to the project that may not be completed. It's the same with our online classes, I enjoy the actual lectures. My wife is completing her MBA with Bethel and often listens to her lectures while doing other things. I have to sit down, listen and watch the lecture to better understand. Knowing that I am a visual learner will helps me in every aspect of my life. Even when my family members give me directions to a location, they know not to tell me streets or highways, but rather give me actual
Imagine sitting in a class, completely bored out of your mind. This is not difficult considering everyone has taken a class like this somewhere along the road of their education. Not every class can be exciting and we should know that. Now imagine every class is of this level, with no “break”, or elective, classes incorporated into your day. Although this may not apply to all private schools, there are many that focus on specific topics. So even though the...
Most freshmen like me that enter the school are scared. I think the first week of the school is the easiest since there would not be a lot of homework and what you need to do is to listen to what you need for the class and know other people well in the class. But I am wrong, as soon as you get seated on your assigned seat, new teachers start to introduce themselves and start giving tons of homework. As the bell rings, I start rushing to my next class hoping that I wouldn’t be late. The first day of school is always the hardest since you don’t have any new friends and you have to sit in the cafeteria alone when it is lunch time. As day starting to go by, I found myself getting earlier and earlier to class. Talking starts to increas...
Coming into this year, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from college and my classes. So far my experience at Ohio University has been pretty great, I have meet some really great people that I could end up being friends for life. My learning community has to be probably one of my favorite classes, out of all of my other classes that I am taking. The classes that I’m currently taking during my freshman year is Math 1200, IArt 1170, Eng 1510, Anth 1010, and UC 1000. I really enjoy all of my classes currently except IArt 1170, something about that class just really rubs me the wrong way. It’s just not very interesting but I need to power through that. Other than that I really can’t complain too much.
