Topography and Geographic Region Analysis for Tourists The natural landscape within the UK consists of a mainly flat land area. With the majority of England included in the flat land mass the major cities are populated close to the edge of the country or on the side of a national river to allow easy transport and access. In England we have a few higher peaks than sea level as the Pennines run through the north of the country from the east of the Cumbrian Mountains down to the south of the country just outside Manchester. In the rest of England there are smaller peaks of hills/mountains which are:- * Cumbrian Mountains * North York Moors * Cotswald Hills * Chiltern Hills * Salisbury Plain * North Downs In Wales we have the Cambrian Mountains as there is a great deal of high ground in the country. As Wales is dominated by a mountains they also have a high number of sporting resorts within the mountainous regions. They can provide skiing at some of the highest points of the peaks and there are many outdoor activity resorts that can provide:- * rock climbing * absailing * rafting * hiking * mountain climbing The USA is divided into so many states with so many regions of mountainous areas that they find it hard to identify particular regions because of their similarity with other regions from around the world. The majority of the USA is suspended above sea level apart from the following states:- * Florida * Georgia * North Carolina * Alabama * Mississippi These are mainly because the sea is level with the states. Florida has a great deal of Everglades to its name as Florida is the main attracti... ... middle of paper ... ...ure that the building would certainly come in useful again. Visiting Friends and Relatives People visiting friends and family are more likely to not look at any of the reasons for people going to these tourist destinations. Carol Franc Buck, Kat Martin, Millee Tibbs, and John Pfahl are a handful of photographers that are associated with altered landscapes. Altered Landscapes are photographs depicting scenery that tricks the mind into seeing something that’s not necessarily there. These types of photographs transform our mind into seeing something at a different range, then it actually is or even changing the scene by adding additional images. These four artists work in a similar way, with a similar subject, to create beautiful landscapes that are highly unique.
The map presented is a map of California. The map shows roads, highways, regions of water, islands, street names, and landmarks. The map is from 2016. It was produced by Color-Art. INC. If I were to use this map in class I believe that it would fit into chapter 1 (Basic concepts). In chapter one we talk about GIS( Geographic information system) which is a system that layers sections for a map, in the map shown it must've used a GIS, because they would start out with the land mass, then the next layer would be the highways, then the roads, and finally the street names and landmarks. Chapter one also talks about scale, the scale on the map is one inch=.85 miles. Finally, the chapter talks about projections, the map shows is a Mercator projection.

“L’auditorium asimmetrico” from the architecture journal “Abitare” briefly summarises the Opera House briefly as Hadid’s first building that has been attended by a high-level British diplomatic delegation at the opening ceremony.1 The unusual significance of this building hints its extraordinary structure and form. The design has been made up by two buildings sitting on a promenade facing to the Pearl River; symbolising the idea of geological crystallisation of two pebbles from the river.2 The main building includes the auditorium and administration space, while the smaller building serves various functions, opening up the space to a wider range of audience.3 The smaller building floats on the mirror pool reinforced the idea of the architecture being part of the cityscape as the water reflects the surrounding skyscrapers; literally blending the design into the city skyline.4 As the title of the article suggests, the Opera House’s asymmetrical auditorium is one of the most marvellous achievements by the architects as well as by the acousticians. The idea of the asymmetrical auditorium might have been carried on from the unbuilt Cardiff Opera House.5 The unique form of th...
Romania is situated in southeast Europe .The Carpathian Mountains divide Romania’s upper half from north to south. It has three main land regions, the Pennies, which includes many mountains and slopes, the Southwest Peninsula, which is rugged and has many rocks, and the English lowlands, which has better soil for farming and is not as rainy or foggy. The Rivers england has are Tees, Thames, and Tyne that flow to the east. Great Britain largest lake is Lake District. It also has numerous offshore islands including the Isle of Scilly, the Isle of Man , and the Channel Islands. Many people can say that the climate in Britain involves lots of rain and fog. Although it rains a lot and is very foggy at sometimes, there is still many sunny days In the winter is it extremely cold and in the summer, it is blazing hot. The geography affects their daily lives because it can affect where they live (different regions etc.) or how they get to work. It may even affect what job they have, maybe you want to be a salesperson, but live in the lowlands so you farm
GIS is an emerging method of data storage and interpretation. GIS is, simply put a database. It is many tables of data organized by one common denominator, location. The data in a GIS system is organized spatially, or by its physical location on the base map. The information that is stored in the database is the location and attributes that exist in that base map, such as streets, highways, water lines, sewers, manholes, properties, and buildings, etc. each of these items don’t just exist in the database, the attributes associated with the item is also stored. A good example of this would be a specific sewer line, from and arbitrary point A to a point B. Ideally, the sewer line would be represented graphically, with a line connecting the two points or something of the like. When one retrieves the information for that line in particular, the attribute data would be shown. This data would include the size of pipe, the pipe material, the upper invert elevation, the downstream invert elevation, the date installed, and any problem history associated with that line. This is the very gist of what a GIS system is.
Many conspicuous topographic features on the largest land areas of the Earth. Familiar examples are mountains (including volcanic cones), plateaus, and valleys. (The term landform also can be applied to related features that occur on the floor of the Earth's ocean basins, as, for example, seamounts, mid-oceanic ridges, and submarine canyons.) Such structures are rendered unique by the tectonic mechanisms that generate them and by the climatically controlled denudational systems that modify them through time. The resulting topographic features tend to reflect both the tectonic and the denudational processes involved.
Since the beginning of humankind, the study of geography has captured the imagination of the people. In ancient times, geography books extolled tales of distant lands and dreamed of treasures. The ancient Greeks created the word "geography" from the roots "ge" for earth and "grapho" for "to write." These people experienced many adventures and needed a way to explain and communicate the differences between various lands. Today, researchers in the field of geography still focus on people and cultures (cultural geography), and the planet earth (physical geography).
