Romania is situated in southeast Europe .The Carpathian Mountains divide Romania’s upper half from north to south. North and west of these ranges lies the Transylvanian plateau, and to the south and east are the plains of Moldavia and Walachia. In its last 306 km, the Danube River flows through Romania only. It enters the Black Sea in the northern Dobruja, jut south of the border with Ukraine.
Romania, in southeast Europe, is mountainous in the north while the main feature in the south is the vast Danube valley. The river forms a delta as it approaches the Black Sea, which is a wildlife reserve for countless native and migratory birds.
The Romanian climate is firstly determined by the location of the country, as well as its geographical positioning on the European continent. These particular traits create a temperate continental climate with transitional nuances.
The country landscape has an essential role in delimiting climatic areas and levels. The Carpathian Mountains form a barrier that separates the harsh continental climates from the east by the oceanic and Adriatic one to the west.
Ethnically, the population is 90% Romanian and 7% Hungarian. The Romanian language, like a number of others in southern Europe, is directly descended from speakers. Romania has considerably natural resources-oil, natural gas, coal, iron, copper and bauxite. Metal-working, petrochemical and mechanical engineering are the main industries.
The spine-chilling tale of Dracula was inspired by the 15th century Romanian Count Vlad Dracul whose son was famous in wartime for impaling captured enemies.

...f awareness within the country of tourism's value as an economic sector, of the opportunities it offers people throughout society and of how to interact with visitors. The staff currently employed in the industry often lacks the skills and training to perform at international service standards. Training and educational institutions provide mainly academic instruction and graduates frequently lack the practical skills required by employers. Many service staff is leaving Romania to work abroad where salaries and opportunities are perceived to be better, thus creating a shortfall of qualified staff.
To remedy the current deficiencies and provide sufficient well trained and motivated staff for the future a number of actions are to be taken:

Be able to recognize and name the various geographical features within these areas of study.
Hungary is in Central Europe, Northwest of Romania. It was “a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until its collapse during World War I” (Factbook). After World War II, the country fell to Stalin’s regime. The announcement of Hungary’s removal in the Warsaw Pact caused a vast riot. The Hungarian Revolution was a spontaneous nationwide revolt against the government of the Hungarian People's Republic and its Soviet-forced policies. It was the first major threat to Soviet control since the USSR's forces drove out the Nazis at the end of World War II. In spite of the failure of the revolution, it was exceedingly significant, and came to play a position in the downfall of the Soviet Union years later.
One of the most prominent features of Russia is its gigantic and varied landscape; this makes it the largest country in the world. This immense landscape covers 11 time zones, borders 2 oceans and 14 other countries. Its land area stretches 6.6 million square miles and extends across parts of two different continents, Asia and Europe. Russia is about twice the size of Canada, which is the world’s second largest country. It includes the world’s deepest lake, Lake Baikal, Europe’s longest river, The Volga and Europe’s largest lake, Lake Ladoga. The variety of landscapes and landforms is enormous and can typically be divided by geographers into 5 natural zones with the largest zone being the Taiga or forest zone. These areas can differ in temperature and vegetation, for example: temperatures have been recorded in the tundra zones from -90°F with little vegetation while in the taiga zones, it can get to above 80°F with different type of trees. According to Daria Erzakova, a native Russian resident of Yuzhno-Sahalinsk for 2 years, “Russia is a gorgeous, scenic land in which I would love to be back living in. After residing there I disagree that ‘Everything’s bigger in Texas’ because of the various conditions of superior and limitless beauty in which I witnessed firsthand”. Evidently, this evokes Russia as the massive, diverse landmass it is and gives insight on the...
Temperate forests are located on every continent except Antarctica and Africa. The biome can be found in the eastern portion of the United States as well as much of Europe, eastern Asia, and eastern Australia(see figure 1). The Appalachian Mountain Region of the United States is one example of a temperate forest biome. A large section of the temperate forest biome is located on the eastern coast of China and it extends northward towards Korea in which it transforms to a different biome, then a another section extends from the southern part of Siberia and continues on into the Korean Peninsula(see figure 1). Europe is largely covered in forest. The location causes the climate to be specific.
1.2 Problem Formulation In the problem formulation part of my report I would describe the overall situation of the U.K Tourism industry. Greece is a country with an interesting geography that is diverse in many senses. The location of Greece itself, as well as the lithosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere come together to form the cumulative geography of the country. These categories of geography interact with each other to form Greece as it is. The location, its longitude and latitude, effects the country’s climate, or its atmosphere. Likewise, the country’s relationship to water, the hydrosphere also effects the climate. This is just one example of how the different categories and characteristics of a place’s geography can effect it.
Alpine Region consists of four major areas, namely: Alps, Apennines, Pyrenees, Scandes, and the Carpathians. Geographical features such as slopes, snow pockets, wind-blasted crags, and uneven rock screens are noticeable due to the mountain-formation that occurred about 50 million years ago. Because of the steep gradient, the rugged mountain range creates different micro-climate zones and rapidly altered life zones. High altitudes of the Alpine System increase the temperature drop, making it relatively colder. The forest composition declines with the elevation and gradually give way to grasslands and scrub-lands. At the rocky summit, the vegetation is limited to only a few number of plant species that are able to tolerate harsh weather conditions. These geographical and climate changes explain why the Alpine system has a rich and a diverse ecosystem. The Alpine claims two-thirds of the plant species exist in Europe and supplies the continent with much of its freshwater resources. In the spring and summer, the major Alpine rivers Rhine and Po play a vital role in supplying freshwater for agricultural development and human consumption. The highest peak - Mont Blanc stands15,781 ft. in height on the border of France and Italy. The Brenner Pass, the Simpson Pass, the Saint Gotthard Pass, and the Great Saint Bernard Pass have made transportation possible across the rugged mountain range. The glacial deposit belts in the broad valleys of Alps provides rich soil for farming. The highly maintained diversified cultural landscape of the alley is attributed to the agricultural operations. Also, the warm summers and cool, wet winters support the cultivation of seasonal crops such as olives, citrus fruit, figs, apricots, and grapes.
The climate region that I had chose to do my essay on is the Arid Dry climate region. This climate is a very plain and also very exciting climate to be in. You could do a tremendous amount of activities such as offroading and sports.
The Slovak Republic, or Slovakia, is located in Eastern Europe with a population of 5.4 million people and borders the countries of Poland, Austria, the Ukraine, and the Czech Republic (The World Bank). Geography is a decisive factor in many different aspects of human life and development and it has played a major role in battles, building, cultural events and the development of civilization. Geography refers to all the physical features and resources in any area.
