Time management in sales is extremely important for us; this is because a lot of sales will work like trial and error being that the more people you can quote the more likely you are to make sales. That is the main reason that managing time in sales is so important. Another reason that managing time is important is because if everyone took 30 mins to give someone a quote then there are going to be a lot of people on hold trying to get through to us and this would result in a large percentage of them will hang up and therefor lose the business potential clients. This helps a lot because it get you used to running through all of the site and when you get into real time pace you are a lot quicker than you even need to me. Another time management technique that is quite effective is by setting yourself small goals for each task that you are doing. E.g. if I had to fill out 10 pages of information and I knew that I had only 5 minutes to do it, I would break that up into smaller tasks by telling myself that I have 30 seconds to do each page and try to stick to that. I do this because it is easy to think that you are ahead or behind when you have a long term goal but if you have a short goal like 30 seconds then you can track your progress and know if you are ahead or behind a lot easier. One of the best ICT tools that we have at our disposal to manage our time is an application callled formfill, this application cuts our time to run through calls in half becuase instead of having to manually run through these sites we can use this application that insteantly gives us results. There are a lot of actions I could take to improve my time management. I could turn off my phone to remove the possibility of distraction. When family or friends invite me to go somewhere, I should go instead of passing up the opportunity. I often feel I am short of time when I have many things to do at one time point and this is very stressful. With effective time management, I discovered many ways in which I can be successful with the management of my time and able to adjust my schedules and to lower time stress. For example, I took time to check my everyday activity and where do I spend most of my time. By careful evaluation, I realize I spent my time browsing the internet which often focus on some of the unproductive things. I started making my time productive by active focusing on important goals which included fitness, scheduling important work to less important tasks every day and slowly I effectively organized myself.

(Lakein, Alan., 1973). Being effective in time management is key in order to be successful in college and beyond. In college it can determine your grade on a test or paper. When you are not conscious of time and lose track of it, it can hurt you in the long run. It is important to have a schedule or calendar on tasks you need to finish. How effectively people manage their time has a major influence on aspects of their working lives and their personal lives. Some people are born with the knowledge on how to maintain and manage their time and others learn it as they grow. I was not so fortunate. While I managed to keep my work areas organized and had somewhat of a routine to help keep my life in relative order, I was always struggling with “losing” time. It was a problem that always left me feeling guilty about not finishing on time while at same time I was overwhelmed about things that were piling up. I always procrastinated and never got things done the day I thought I should. When I was occupied at school or hanging with friends, I was constantly stressing about the many task I had to get done at home. Then when I was at home I would think about tasks that were left undone in the “outside world”. It was a never ending cycle that prevented me from being relaxed or enjoyed some days.
Helps prioritise: Time management helps prioritise what needs to be done per time which forces you to create a “To-Do” list to ensure all important set tasks for the required time are done. This helps get rid of un-necessary/un-important tasks, and helps focus more on set priorities.
There are many different parts to time management, such as procrastination, strategy, organization, expectations and being prepared. All of them contribute equally in many ways. All of the things that we have spoken about in this paper are highly recommended. The best thing to do when it comes to time management is to set a strategy, become organized and do your best to avoid procrastination. When you manage your time make sure you include the following; studying, sleeping, eating, relaxing and other necessary things. By checking e-mails, texts and so on, we will easily get stressed out and worried if there is not enough time for us to complete everything. We can set specific times for our tasks and do not go over limit. Some of us like to check for online updates and feedbacks from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and so on every single time. This lead to procrastination and the tasks that are waiting to get completed are being left out. Max Wideman presents a wider definition for TM as the “function required to maintain appropriate allocation of time to the overall conduct of the project through the successive stages of its natural life-cycle, by means of the processes of time planning, time estimating, time scheduling, and schedule control.” Ultimately at it’s core however, TM is about time, its planning and control during all stages of the project. A further look into Wideman’s definition of TM by means of identifying its importance throughout the entire project life-cycle (Initiation, planning, execution, controlling and close-out) is required. It is hoped that by analysing how TM tools and techniques can positively and negatively effect the different stages of the Project life cycle a better understanding of productivity, TM and project success will result.
