“Charlie St. Cloud” Movies with horror, romance, and joy all in the same film are the ones to watch. Having a mixture of themes in a movie makes it more interesting, catching the eye of more than one selective group of watchers. “Charlie St. Cloud” is a great example of this, having the joy of a small town family, the loss of a brother and the romance between two yachting competitors. Not only does the theme of this movie catch the eye of the watchers, but the scenery of this movie is breathtaking. The choice of actors also helped this movie get even more views. The critics enjoyed watching this movie because it appeals to more than one selective groups eyes. Movies, which are all about the visuals, have a time-honored way of representing virtue- by casting someone beautiful (LaSalle par 1). In this movie Charlie is a normal teenager, graduating from high school, having a loving family, and then everything is flipped upside down when one night he loses his brother in a car wreck. Now his daily routine is waking up, going to work in the town graveyard and then at sunset when the canon’s go, off he has to go to a special place to play catch with his deceased brother. The critics loved the story behind “Charlie St. Cloud” because the mixtures of feelings. This movie should be a horror movie (Scott par 1), but also has a convincingly romantic look and mood to it (Scott par 6). The movie toys with your emotions. Having a movie that switches from family fun, to horror, to romance, back to horror and finally ending with romance keeps the attention of the audience.
