The Writing Process
Writing can be a very difficult process for those who do not know how to go about constructing
a work of writing. I have my own ideas on how I think the writing process should be done.
Time and good ideas will make for a good paper because when I begin writing a paper or an
essay I take a day to think of all the possibilities to write about. If I am lucky if I have the chance
to come up with my own ideas rather than have them given to me, but if that is not the case then I
follow my simple steps to get through with my work .
To start off, I remember that it may take awhile until I am sure on what I am going to
write about for the topic. It is all right to change the subject many times if I absolutely have to.
Absolutely do not start out writing the paper with the opening or ending paragraph. It is best to
do the end and beginning paragraphs once I have finished completing and editing the entire
paper.
First of all I sit down where I can really concentrate on my topic, and I make outlines. I
start off with numbers and label them what the topic of the paragraph is going to be about. After I
finish figuring out what each paragraph will be about, I then go in subdivisions on the details that
will be included in each specific paragraph. This will help to avoid getting off of the subject and
the paper will be in a good order.
After finishing the outline, I go on to start writing down ideas that are at the top of my

I have always had troubles writing the introduction of papers. The introduction is the base and sets the mood of the whole paper. I believe it is the most important paragraph in the paper. But once I develop the introductory paragraph, I find the rest of the paper easier to write. In order for me to better myself in writing introductory paragraphs, I just have to get more in touch with my creative side. After the rough draft, the students of the class would bring their papers to the course and would get into groups to peer review the papers. This would helpful to receive the views of our peers to help edit our assignment. After the peer review of the rough draft, the next step of the writing process was the revision. The revision was when we take the information and opinions from the groups and corporate them into our papers. Also, for the revision, you would offer work days for you to proof read our paper before we had to type our final copy. This was extremely beneficial for us to get your opinion on our paper d...
NOTE: This isn’t even close to how I would like the essay to be laid out. I’m just writing paragraphs and eventually I will get them in an order I like them and revise.
I just begin to write and see what happens. Sometimes it drifts off to being poetry, sometimes short prose. I sort of kind of follow it and see where it 's going. The process is pretty much the same. It 's sitting there with your notebook, waiting for something to happen (“Ted Kooser”).”
Use transitions and make connections not only between paragraphs, but among sentences, too. Play with different types of sentence structures (some long, some short, etc.) and more vivid, descriptive word choice to make the essay engaging to the reader.
The process of writing papers can be very frustrating. You must first get your ideas together. Getting your ideas together can be one of the hardest parts of writing because you could possibly not know what di...
Your purpose in reading source materials and then in drawing upon them to write your own material is often reflected in the wording of an assignment.
Typical outlines aren't the only way I prepare to write my papers. I often tend to simply start writing random paragraphs about my subject, in no particular order, and slowly begin to bu...
I am sitting in my bed, thinking about my process of writing as I am trying to go through it. It seems the more I think about it, the less I understand it. When I am writing, I don’t think. Which I know, sounds bad. But, I spend every single moment of every single day over thinking, over analyzing, and over assuming every aspect of my life. When I’m writing, I’m free from that for just a little bit. Until of course, my hands stop typing or the pencil (no pens- never pens) stops moving, then I’m right back on the carousel that is my brain. Heidi Estrem says, “...writers use writing to generate knowledge that they didn’t have before.” (Writing is a Knowledge-Making Activity 18). I believe my ability to write without an exact destination

My writing process is maybe unorthodox to many. I think of an idea and outline
Section 1: What is your topic, and why is it important to study this topic?

Writing is a process that involves at least four distinct steps: prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing. It is known as a recursive process. Prewriting is anything you do before you write a draft of your document and it is the planning phase. It includes thinking, taking notes, talking to others, brainstorming, outlining, and gathering information. Drafting occurs when you put your ideas into sentences and paragraphs. Here you concentrate upon explaining and supporting your ideas fully. The first five traits are essential for effective revision of content are Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, and Sentence Fluency. While you are revising, you might have to return to the prewriting step to develop and expand your
When I sit down to write, I must do so in a clean, well-organized, and well-lit area. The space must be free from distractions, such as the television or radio, so that I am able to focus and gather my thoughts. I like to begin my writings similar to the way William Stafford says he starts, "To get started I will accept anything that occurs to me." Writing down any thought that will help support and provoke more thoughts and ideas. When my thoughts become cloudy, I like to rise from my seat and walk around speaking out ideas to myself. I find this practice helps to jumpstart my brain activity and clear my foggy mind.
In the twelve years I was in school, I learn three forms of writing, essay, letters, and stories. My favorite form of writing is creative writing. My least favorite is writing a letter. The reason I prefer creative writing over the other, form is because I have the freedom to make up anything. The reason I dislike writing letter is because many letters have different formats. For example, I can’t uses the friendly letter format on a business letter; I would have to use block format. Even though I prefer creative writing, my most commonly used skill is to write essays. Though, I may find essay writing a chore, I still prefer it over letter writing. Among these books I still read The Odyssey and Macbeth, for inspiration.
