Today I will be talking about the empire known as Apple. Where it originated, how far its come, the trials, and tribulations about this brilliant company. The story begins in 1976 when there were no home computers, Steve Wozniak, a brilliant engineer, created his own home computer that connected to his T.V. His friend Steve Jobs was too interested in the computer science realm and together on April 1st , 1976 they founded Apple Computer Co. Wozniak then went on to re-design his first idea into what is called the Apple II which became extremely popular due to its faster processing capabilities and its color screen. Steve Jobs went off to find investors, one of the major investors was Mike Markkula and finally with enough money they became …show more content…
At this point Mac was asserted as the number one company for any computer graphics. In 1989 Mac went on to create the first portable computer, however it weighed in at 16lbs and it wasn’t until 1991 the Power Book 100 was the first modern laptop. IBM was right on Apple’s tail the entire trail and went on to creating literally dozens of machines that all ran on new software that was being developed by Microsoft. Apple then attempted to sue Microsoft for using some of their development software, but lost the lawsuit. In 1994 Apple switch their processors to aid in the new design of the PowerMac 6100, which at the time was being developed by Motorola and in collaboration with IBM. Apple also went on to allow certain “clones” of their computers to be re-developed by other companies, this was to allow Apple a certain percentage of developers to come up with their own ideas on a computer that could run it all. However, these companies undercut the software and re-developed a monstrous abomination of a computer, slashed the price, and made Apple work twice as hard to come up with a software that could help run these new designs, which lead them to the Mac OS …show more content…
Now Apple had to get creative. They then hired a new CEO, Gil Amelio to assist in their downfall at the time. Aelio decided to stop development of software at Apple and in stead purchase a new OS from a different company. This lead to the creation of NeXT, which at this time was still being run by Jobs. Jobs took over the company within a few months and announced in 1997 at MacWorld their new plans to take over the computer world. The iMac was the first step in revitalizing the company. In 2001 Apple created the iPod, with its easy to use scroll wheel and user interface it was the clear choice for any on-the-go music enthusiast and it held 1,000 songs. Mac OS X soon followed and dominated the older OS’s and allowed all of the old OS apps to run. Apple was clearly monopolizing the world by coming out with new iPods of all color to reach the masses of people who were swallowed by its modern design. But the true brilliance was found in the OS itself, the iPod product was so easily changed and modified with its older brother the Mac. The App of choice of cores was iTunes which at the time was only featured on certain Mac products. This soon changed as Mac allowed Microsoft the same App and would allow the legal sales of all music over a simple
Sir Steve Jobs, the almighty co-founder of Apple started apple dreaming big. The Harvard College dropout carried through with that dream. According to Leander Kahney, author of “Inside Steve’s Brain,” “apple went public 1980 with the biggest public offering since 1958” (2008), this offer proved successful as apple soon became a super power. Apple suffered a fall out though, but Steve Jobs came back and rescued them, reviving them to their previous stature.
Steve Jobs and his friend Wozniak started to create their very first computer, and it came out a lot better than what they thought it was going to be. With very little education, the first computer that came out was extraordinary. “It was the first single-board computer with built-in circuitry allowing for direct video interface, along with a central ROM, which allowed it to load programs from an external source” (“Steve P. Jobs”). Without the education that most people get, for someone who dropped out of college, Jobs created such a powerful computer without the knowledge that most people have. Jobs computer that he created along with his friend was so astonishing a second computer came out. “A year later, the Apple II was launched with a simple, compact design like the Apple I, plus a color monitor” (“Steve Paul Jobs”). The first computer that Jobs created was excellent enough to create a second one, which was also a superior computer. Even though Jobs dropped out of college, he was still intelligent enough to create one of the biggest companies in the world. Apple incorporations was going strong until one day the company decided to let Steve Jobs go,...
Apple Computer Inc designs, manufactures, and markets personal computers and related personal computing and communication solutions. The return of Steve Jobs, the companies founder, as CEO has pulled the company’s stock price up 775-percent through his launch of innovative products such as the iMac computer line. On January 5, 2000, Jobs announced that he was dropping interim from his CEO title and taking the job full-time. With this news and Apple’s new products such as the iBook, a portable pc and Quick TV, an internet television access feature, Apple Computer is headed for success and is sure to increase their share in the computer market.
Once Apple was bought back to life by the iMac, Jobs shifted his focus to improve the diminishing market share of Apple. He decided that he could make use of the unique knowledge available at Apple for designing both hardware and software to achieve
In 1976 college dropouts Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, assisted by Ron Wayne embarked on a path to start a tech company that would create new innovative products by connecting people all over the world. This company came to be known as Apple Computers which has become a global leader in Technology and cultural innovation. The rise of Apple computers did not come easy and along with the major success obtained their failures have not gone without notice. Yet, through the joy of success and the agony of defeat, Apple has continued to reinvent its brand over four decades.
The development of Apple Inc. came during the unstable economic times of the 1970’s. Best friends and college dropouts, Steve Jobs and Stephen Wozniak pooled their electronic and business skills to market what was to become the first personal computer. Stephen Wozniak had designed a small computer, the Apple 1, for the enjoyment of some friends at a Homebrew Computer Club meeting. The Apple 1 developed in Steve Jobs’ bedroom and garage, while he envisioned the commercial potential of a personal computer that could help families with personal finances and small businesses with day to day tasks. Vision, drive and creativity allowed this entrepreneur to take the risk to create a business. The challenge of building that business and the desire to control his destiny required passion and perseverance along with innovation.
From the first Apple computer to the iWatch, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak started out in the business of kit computers with the Apple I. This initial production run, although popular as a collectible now, will mainly be remembered for helping the company get enough capital to build the Apple II in 1977 - the same year Apple officially incorporated. Steve Wozniak primarily built both these computers and Steve Jobs handled the marketing side. The Apple II drove the company’s revenue until the mid-1980s despite the hardware remaining the same. Apple attempted updates like the Apple III and the Apple Lisa, but these failed to catch on commercially. Although the Apple II was still selling, Apple as a company was in trouble when the 80s began. The 1984 release of the Macintosh was a leap forward for Apple, but in the intervening years between the Apple II and the Macintosh, IBM had caught up. Disappointing revenues from the Macintosh and internal struggles for control led to Apple’s board dismissing Steve Jobs in favor of John Sculley. Steve Inc. Under Sculley, Apple started growing its product lines. John Sculley served as Apple’s CEO
Apple one of the best company in today century. Apple was started in 1976 by two handsome guys, Steve Job and Steve Wozniak. Job and Wozniak meet each other through a mutual friend they both knew. They had some much in common and one of those was the love for electronic. Wozniak use too designs computers before he meets jobs, so he was very advance when it comes to electronics and designing computer, it was Jobs intelligent and creative thinking made these two a perfect match. Job and Wozniak were both 21 of age when they started Apple computer. They started this little business in Jobs family garage. In order to make money to buy equipment Jobs and Wozniak had to both sacrifice something valuable so they can raise money. Job sold his Volkswagen bus. Wozniak sold his precious scientific calculator. Jobs and Wozniak made a big impact in the computer industry by adjusting the technology and making the machines a lot smaller, cheaper and usable to everyday consumers. Wozniak establishes a list of user friendly, personal computers, while Jobs was in charge of marketing, ...
The introduction of Apple’s Macintosh in 1984 revolutionized the personal computer industry (North, 2011). Although Jobs did not invent the
In almost every part of the world Apple and at least one of their products is known. The Apple brand started in the 1970s. Three men founded the organization in 1976, to produce a computer that every citizen could use personally (Sohail, 2010). The first item released was the Apple 1 personal computer kit made by Steve Wozniak (Sohail, 2010). Through the 70s, Apple concentrated on developing storing technologies such as the floppy disk and the use of color, graphics, and spreadsheets used for business (Sohail, 2010). Apple was about to have their first major product release with a million dollar ad campaign. This was the release of the Macintosh personal computer, which also led to Apple’s great reputation (Sohail, 2010).
It was Steve Jobs who made Apple leave the garage and make leaps and bounds in the world of technology. Steve Wozniak made the first prototype, but it was Jobs who “saw the potential” in his computer and persuaded Wozniak to sell it (Peterson 106). Even though that first computer saw very little success, Jobs knew that Apple had potential and so released the Apple II. From the beginning Jobs knew what the consumers wanted, and where computers were going to take the world; he had a vision of the opportunities in technology and saw that Apple needed to move in a different direction. In 1984, one year before he left, Jobs finished the Macintosh computer system. He was pushed from his original computer design project, “the Lisa”, and then raced to release the Mac first, but the Lisa was released to the public first. Although the Lisa came out first, the Mac “[became] synonymous with Apple, mark[ing] a…revolution in…personal computing,” (Peterson 106).
The history of Apple began thirty years ago, when the two friends, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak decided to found their own company for the production and release of computers.
Unannounced to Jobs Hewlett admired his initiative and gave him a summer at HP assembling frequency counter. In 1975 the first apple computer was created and officially sold to the public. At the time Jobs and his business partners where...
The Apple II earned the company handsome revenue until the mid 1980s though the hardware remained largely the same. Later Apple attempted Apple III and the Apple Lisa which failed.
In 1976, Steve Jobs founded Apple Computer with his friend Wozniak in the garage of Job’s parents. In 1984, Jobs introduced the Macintosh to the world. It was a very innovative and good product but sales were not strong. Apple’s board wanted to Jobs to step down from his position. In 1985, Steve Jobs founded NeXT Inc. Steve was able to create technologically advanced product but the cost was too high to be successful. Company made first profit after 10 years of operation. In 1997, NeXT Inc was acquired by Apple Inc. In 1986, Jobs bought The Graphics Group. In 1995, the first film, Toy Story, came out. It was a big success and Pixar became one of the biggest animations producing company in the market. Jobs had opportunity to return to Apple, after Apple decided to purchase NeXT Inc. After Jobs returned to Apple, He started to invent new product. iMac was introduced to market and Jobs became permanent CEO of Apple. Apple started to expand their expertise under Jobs guidance. Apple started to introduce digital appliances like iPod, portable music player. In 2007, Apple introduced the iPhone, the very first multi-touch display cellphone. iPod and iPhone completely changed world. These inventions were not only a better product but also new way...
