Meanwhile, Nick, Amy, Russ, and I were standing in the jungle that Amy’s father called a lawn. All of the sudden, a loud rustle came from the grass behind us. The towering green plants were pushed aside by a force. Currently, I was in a castle. Well, a lego block that looked like a castle to me. I poked my head out of the area I was in and froze for a split second. There in front of me was a giant, godzilla-sized scorpion. I stared at it for a good minute, taking in every detail of the insect. That’s when I realized what the insect had its eyes on. “Amy! Russ! Look out!” I screamed at them, gaining the attention of the monster that lay ahead. I watched Amy and Russ take off, leaving me with a giant. The creepy looking animal caused a shiver to fall down my spine. In fear, I gulped, but then heard a voice yelling at me. …show more content…
“Ron c’mon!
Run!” I heard Russ shouted. Before I could make my quick escape, I pushed myself to the back of the legos inside, screaming as the scorpion attempted to grab me with its claws. The sight was terrifying and I swear I almost passed out. In my fear, I closed my eyes and hugged my knees close. “And it is over for me…” I mumbled extremely quietly to myself. I began to imagine what my funeral would be like. Dark clothing, everyone mingling and moarning. My eyes were closed when I heard someone scream into the blue lego I laid in, interrupting my thoughts. The voice sounded familiar. I didn’t expect it, and for a moment thought I was dead. “Ron!” I heard a familiar voice yell. I nearly leapt out of the large blue structure I was in. The giant was currently in a battle with an ant. I ran with the others, thinking our situation was at its worse. But when I glanced behind me, It got a hundred times worse. On ours tails, was the monster. I realized the ant was nowhere in sight. “We are doomed…..” I said
aloud. I gained a strange, sideways glance from the others. “Run faster!” I heard Russ scream. I guess he had spotted the terrifying monster. We had survived a lot of things so far. For some odd reason, I didn’t think we would run faster than the insect. I glanced behind me, noticing that the creature had gotten closer, it’s dark eye staring right into my blue ones. I gasped, and turned back to look at what I was doing. Running. I was running like my life depended on it. Mostly because it did.
could not escape a feeling that this was my own funeral, and you don’t cry in that case”
Consequently, she veers off from the group one day and stumbles upon an enormous crumb that could help her colony thrive in the winter. Unfortunately, she is unable to lift the massive delectable and decides to solicit for help. Throughout her adventure, she interacts with numerous animals, each time moving up the food chain: a lizard, spider, rooster, wolf, and farmer. Each animal conjures an excuse not to assist the young ant, leaving the ant exceedingly hopeless after each failed attempt. Despite such crippling rejections, the insect persists as she crosses paths with the large figure each animal fears, the farmer. With a sigh of relief, the ant exclaims “¡Hombre!” as the man increases in magnitude without any signs of acknowledgment. The farmer, unaware of the little ant, takes a powerful step that heads straight for the young insect, leaving the ant to jump onto the farmer’s shoelace and travel up
One day as I was walking along through the tall blades of grass, I came upon a massive figure. I thought to myself, oh just another one of these uninteresting creatures, but this one, this one was different. This one was clad with long flowing hair, and other features that did not fit my ordinary image of these marvelous creatures. I quickly realized it was going to place itself on the ground, and I was in its way. I quickly sprung to safety as the massive creature collapsed where I was previously stationed. How rude, I thought, It ruined the perfect flow of the grass. But I did not ponder too much on it as it was commonplace for these large creatures to land here. By the tree. Next to the water.
This instantly made me think of a funeral, as next to the body was a
The face is of a statue in the cemetery where the Comedian is being buried, raindrops running down its face as though it is crying. This chapter focuses on the funeral of Edward Blake, known also as The Comedian. As such, this chapter centers around and is the first presentation of the theme of death, a common theme in Watchmen – both real and symbolic, or “ontological”. Ontological death is best described as “the phenomenon of ‘world collapse,’ which occurs when one experiences an incident so jarring to his/her personal reality that the thing which gives one’s fundamental life, or world, meaning – whether God or something else – no longer applies. Preconceptions are extinguished, pushing one into a ‘new world’ where a revised reality must established.” (Stanford Encyclopedia of Psychology, 2007. The Encyclopedia of Death and Dying,
I went in to the front lounge and sat on the sofa, all of a sudden I was floating in this black void, I was in complete darkness but I could still see my arms and legs, I could here a voice calling, a cold eerie voice but I didn't understand it.
As I entered the small, cramped room, some were trying to sing the hymn, "Father in Heaven, We Do Believe," while most wept, catching a final view of my friend before the oak coffin was closed and his earthly life was officially over. I was standing in the crowd, looking at Eric. He looked so peaceful, as if he was just sleeping and would wake up at any moment. The makeup on his face disturbed me. His skin was a bright peach color, his cheeks were pink, and his lips were full and red. He did not look like my friend, but like some sort of dead mime. His small, unmistakable smile eased my apprehensions, however, and the program went on.
But my very feelings changed to repulsion and terror when I saw the whole man slowly emerge from the window and begin to crawl down the castle wall over the dreadful abyss, face down with his cloak spreading out around him like great wings. At first I could not believe m...
I looked around and saw all of the missing people. I saw the dark figure huddled over Ethan. I slowly rose and grabbed a rock. I walked behind the dark figure, but before I could swing the rock at him, he was pushing high up the wall. I hit him but the rock went through him. He laughed but it almost sounded like a scream. Ethan got up and shined his phone flashlight at the thing. It almost looked as if it turned solid. I swung at it again and this time it hit it. I saw a sharp, jagged piece of metal on the ground. I picked it up and tried to stab the thing, but it cut me with it’s hand. Ethan jumped on it’s back but it shrugged him off. The phone hit the ground and it shattered. I ran to the small crack in the cavern. When I climbed out, I was in the basement of the school. I ran upstairs, but I could hear the thing stomping after me and screaming his laugh. When I got outside, everyone was gone. I turned around and watched the thing come out of the school. It said, “Just face the fact that you’ve lost.” I replied, “No, you’ve lost.” The school collapsed behind it. I said, “You have nowhere to run now. The sun is out and you are exposed.” I ran at him and stabbed it in the head with the metal piece. It backed up and tripped over the fence. It hit the ground and shriveled up into a ball. I ran back to the cavern and dragged everyone out. We all looked at the thing. It reached up and whispered, “Help.” I kicked it and it
“This is going to be so much fun!” said Thomas. “I can’t wait till tonight when all the ghouls come out.”
These noises sounded like lips smacking, flesh tearing, and painful groans. Com turned, looked at her group, and motioned them to be mute and walk nonchalantly. She quietly pushed her way through a forest of grasses to see that one Giant Devil was making a meal of another. The victim was still alive, but barely. Being too distracted by his meal, the Giant Devil failed to noticed the Peaceful Ones walking past.
I'd let out a reluctant shiver from being drenched from the rain as I heard the door close behind me with a boisterous bang. My clenched fists slowly loosened as I reverenced at how the mansion sent such an ominous feeling in every cell of my body. I had already came to the conclusion that a promised nightmare was y...
On my way to his house, I just couldn't help but think why just why? I lose my mom and grandpa in the same month, isn't that enough? Apparently not cause here I am probably about to lose my best friend unless he has a really good explanation which at this point I honestly doubt. With all these thoughts flowing through my mind I soon realize that I have arrived at his house. I walk up onto his front porch feeling like I could black out at any given second. I lift my shaking hand ready to knock. Then I hear a voice. But no, no it's not just any voice. It is the voice of my dead
Pointedly, I knew that I only had a couple of minutes before the things were upon me. Quickly and quietly then, I withdrew to the wall in front of me-the only one free of anything-and slowly inched my way around the monsters. Reaching the door, I proceeded to open it as noiselessly as possible. Surprisingly, I made it in. Then, I heard something that made my heart stop: the sound of a recovered
And he turned off just before my row. I let out a long sigh of relief. I heard the voice again It was coming from the end row. The voice seemed familiar. Hmm. I thought about who it could be. I was so curious to find out who it was. The voice grew louder. The person was so close. This was it. The end of this row. I stopped. The voice was laughing, a very faint voice. I saw a faint outline and shadow. The figure was small, perhaps bent over. I saw it straighten up. It looked like a girl. A few more stops. One more second. BANG!
