I glanced at my watch, quarter to nine; I had 10 minutes to get to school. Every day I wait for Jade at my house. She was 5 minutes late so I decided to walk down to her house. There was no sign of her down her road. Maybe she slept in late. I knocked on her door, her mum answered, "Hello love, oh are you here for Jade? I'm very sorry she can't come to school today she has a terrible migraine." My head dropped, "Okay, um well could you tell her I hope she feels better." "Bye then!" Jade had never been ill before. Jade had always walked to school with me; I haven't ever been to school on my own before. I arrived at school 10 minutes later. Just enough time to get to my locker. My locker was quite stiff and often hard to open. Only when I got there I noticed my locker was on the last number of my combination. How strange. My locker clacked open; I got my geography book and my maths book and slowly closed the locker. I hesitated, out of the corner of my eye I noticed a red note attached to the door. I picked it out and unfolded it. It read, "You will pay, I will get you for what you've done!" The handwriting was large and scruffy. I thought that maybe it was a mistake. I looked around the corner expecting to hear someone laughing or someone to shout, "Ha! Gotcha, I see you got my little prank!" But there was nobody there. It was totally deserted. The people who normally stood there were gathered around the notice board. A cold shiver ran down my side. What have I done? I came back to my senses just before I entered the toilets I realised I was still holding the paper so I hastily thrust it into my pocket. A large tear wallowed in my eye, like a crystal glimmering in the sun. What have I done? I became aware of my surroundings... ... middle of paper ... ... a role model for the newer students. I started to ease across the row. The caretaker was now scanning shelves for the correct cleaning bottle. He came so close to my row. My heart beat increased, thundering. He was coming closer; I glanced desperately for an escape route. There was no way I could get out of this one. A few more steps… And he turned off just before my row. I let out a long sigh of relief. I heard the voice again It was coming from the end row. The voice seemed familiar. Hmm. I thought about who it could be. I was so curious to find out who it was. The voice grew louder. The person was so close. This was it. The end of this row. I stopped. The voice was laughing, a very faint voice. I saw a faint outline and shadow. The figure was small, perhaps bent over. I saw it straighten up. It looked like a girl. A few more stops. One more second. BANG!
The unpolished floors and graffitied lockers with pictures of the Beatles glued to them indicated to me that no summer cleaning had been done at school, for what seemed like several years. As I walked, a neatly folded piece of paper, which I placed in my pocket earlier this morning, grazed my outer thigh was not letting me forget its purpose. My palms were sweaty and all I could think of was that on the first day of school, I had decided to tell my crush that I liked her. What a stupid decision. I decided to wash my hands and then put my plan into action. My walk across the hallway continued till I reached the guy’s bathrooms. Just as I was about to push the door, it opened and out ran a blonde and petite girl. My crush. Her face was surprised and her hazel eyes were
Her eyes were heavy, her body weak. As she crawled into the bathroom two feet away, Abby felt her body slowly succumbing to the numbness. All of her pain would be gone in less than 10 minutes, so why would she want to turn back? What about the senior trip Abby had planned with her best friend? What about the chair at the dinner table that would now be vacant? A couple of hours later Abby’s family came home from her little sister’s soccer game. Little did they know what they would find as they approached the top of the stairs. Her little sister, Ali, stood still as she looked down at her feet. There on the cold floor lay her big sister, her role model, and her super hero. Ali was crushed when she saw the pill bottle in her hand and the pale color of her skin. Her mom fell to her knees screaming and crying, wondering where she
“ No, I would never hurt you,” I assured her as I grabbed her small, precious arm and pulled her away from the dangerous tree roots. Monique with 100% trust in me exclaimed, ” go on flip me.” She was so tranquil, which made me more nervous. I was panicking, my though dried up and I was starting to reconsider flipping her. I had a million thoughts, what if I hurt her, why does she trust me so much? ”Victoria, Victoria!”, Monique screamed. “ Yeah sorry!” I reply with hesitation. I pulled a confident face and started counting down, “ 3, 2, 1”. I grabbed her shaking arm and flipped her over my head into the air. Time stopped at that moment, Monique’s face turned from calmed and collected to scared and surprised in an instance. “Bang” she fell on the muddle, and rough ground. “ARGHHHH”, screamed Monique, from the excruciating pain. “It hurts”, she yelled while laying still on the grey grass
The night before, I didn’t practice my English so I knew what to say. By now, I knew most of the words, so I would just let my heart guide me. Besides, my cramped old house, which is actually just a junky garage in an abandoned alley, is too small to let out my feelings. Once I got to school after a cold walk in the snow, I placed myself by her locker and waited. Fourteen minutes had gone by, and still no sign of Lily. I only had a minute to get to class now, so I hurriedly collected myself and ran to my locker. I was disappointed, knowing that without Lily here, it would be the hardest day of school. I opened my locker and to my surprise a note fell to the floor. I quickly picked it up and gazed at the neat handwriting that clearly spelled my name.
My day was going well. I devoured a big breakfast, my brother, for once, got out of the shower quick, and no major assignment was pending. Life was very, very good. Then life began to fall into oblivion. I saw on the board in the front of Mrs. Smith's room the journal entry for the day. It was about what would I write about in a narrative essay. Hope faded away. Somewhere on the planet a nuclear bomb went. An earthquake struck in some unknown place on the Earth. A volcano erupted on Jupiter's moon Io and killed a bunch of Ionians. Somebody's red rose just wilted and the petals fell onto the ground. The end of the world was indeed upon us. My jaw dropped and warning bells went off in my head. I went completely and utterly blank. I tried as hard as I could to write my journal. Channel One came on and talked about a nuclear bomb going off in India that caused an earthquake that somehow caused a volcano to erupt on Io (that killed a bunch of aliens). My jaw dropped once again. It was now the floor. As I was finishing my journal, Mrs. Smith went to the front of the room and talked about, du du du, narrative papers. She gave us a cold, white study guide that gave me no hope for survival. She then gave us another evil sheet of pap...
“Shut up i can talk how ever i want!” Lilly yelled, before she could turn right on the left side of her cheek, Mr. WIlson socked her. She ran down the hall with tears rolling down her face all the way to her bedroom slamming the door before Mr. Wilson could say anything else. She then threw herself on the ground bursting into tears. Laying on the floor she spotted something under her bed which at first seemed like a piece of old bark but it was the Monkey’s paw. Curiosity Lily inspected he paw not knowing the dangers it had caused. She then placed it in her pocket, thinking about how bad life was treating her.
It was a nice summer day and I was at my friend, Melody’s, house. I had previously spent the night at her house. We had gotten up and started getting ready for our day. We were going to go out and get lunch at Chick-Fil-A. We were walking out to my car ready to go when I realized I did not have my car keys on me. I looked in my pockets and my backpack but they were nowhere to be found. In a panic, I turned around and headed back to Melody’s maroon bedroom to look for my keys. After about 30 minutes of intensely searching her room and we still could not locate them. I started to wonder if maybe I left them in my car from the night before. I went out to my white Ford Focus and sure enough there my keys were sitting in the driver’s seat with
11:14 p.m.-I slowly ascend from my small wooden chair, and throw another blank sheet of paper on the already covered desk as I make my way to the door. Almost instantaneously I feel wiped of all energy and for a brief second that small bed, which I often complain of, looks homey and very welcoming. I shrug off the tiredness and sluggishly drag my feet behind me those few brief steps. Eyes blurry from weariness, I focus on a now bare area of my door which had previously been covered by a picture of something that was once funny or memorable, but now I can't seem to remember what it was. Either way, it's gone now and with pathetic intentions of finishing my homework I go to close the door. I take a peek down the hall just to assure myself one final time that there is nothing I would rather be doing and when there is nothing worth investigating, aside from a few laughs a couple rooms down, I continue to shut the door.
It was a beautiful night. It was perfect for a walk. As I strolled further into the park a figure approached me. It was as dark as pitch so I couldn’t make out who it was. It was late; you wouldn’t usually see anyone at this time. My heart was beating faster and faster. The strange thing was I wasn’t frightened; it was just my heart beating rapidly. As the masculine figure approached, I began to walk slower. That was when I heard the voice.
At around seven o’clock, I heard my mom page me to come downstairs. “I just got a very interesting call from your principal, darling.” At this point, I was in tears. “Mom, I swear I didn’t do anything! Please don’t yell at me! I found it. I didn’t steal it. I promise. Please believe me!” I sobbed and sobbed as I put my hands into my face. I knew that I was going to get the bad end of it. “Sweetheart, I’m not going to yell at you. I understand that you found it. You just have to give it back if it’s hers. She said that it was hers, so just give it up.” My mom sounded subtle, and I started to understand her. “What am I supposed to do?” Just the thought of having to give it back hurt me inside. I know that I didn’t have it for long and that it wasn’t mine, but I found it. “The principal will call you down tomorrow and you can give it to her. Now go upstairs and get some rest.” I turned and walked upstairs to go to bed. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. But when I finally did, I fell
The dark, black sky was covered with a million bright shining stars. The moon shimmered above a small town in the suburbs of London. The gentle wind swept past the bare trees and danced with the leaves below it, creating a colourful array of orange, yellow, red and brown. Across the street, a light was on in a small house where a tall, dark haired woman stood, talking to her two children Nicola and Erin. While she was tucking them in Erin asked, “Mummy, will you tell us a story please?” “I’m sorry but its time to go to sleep now,” she said. “Please mummy,” begged Nicola “Okay but only one story,” she replied “This story is about how I got lost when I was a young girl and how I met an incredible man. It all began when…”
As I turned in circles trying to figure out where I was, I heard a soft voice in the background. I couldn’t find where it was coming from, but it was talking to me, calling my name. I was standing in the middle of the floor lost and confused then I heard the sound of heels walking softly behind me..
It was finally the first day of school; I was excited yet nervous. I hoped I would be able to make new friends. The first time I saw the schools name I thought it was the strangest name I’ve ever heard or read, therefore I found it hard to pronounce it in the beginning. The schools’ floors had painted black paw prints, which stood out on the white tiled floor. Once you walk through the doors the office is to the right. The office seemed a bit cramped, since it had so many rooms in such a small area. In the office I meet with a really nice, sweet secretary who helped me register into the school, giving me a small tour of the school, also helping me find
It was just another day of my life. The fourth ring of my alarm woke me up. As usual, I was not feeling to go in school. I slept a couple of more minutes. After while, the shine of the sun coming from the window woke me up.I slowly stretched my arms and slid out of bed. I brushed my teeth and took the shower. Downstair,my mother was calling me for breakfast.I was still undecided what should wear for school. After browsing for while I found something to wear, and finished getting myself ready for school. When I checked the clock, I was running late as usual, which was not a surprised. I quickly ate my half sandwich and left the rest of the sandwich on the table.I took my car key, jump in my black Lexus and made my way to school.During my way to school, I got a call from my friend John. John is my best friend since when we were in middle school. He told me that his car was broke down and he needed to ride to school. Fortunately, my friend house on my school way. I told my friend. I am on my way to pick you up from your house. As I got there, john come out from his house and jumped in my car. With sound of Drake singing and music blasting, it was a
One morning, as she was walking to her school, just as she did on every other school day for the last eleven years. Today became different when a car pulled up alongside. She was unaware of it until she heard a voice call out. She recognized the voice as belonging to a boy from school, surprised he was calling her name.
