The Running and Functions of a Business
For my business studies coursework we had to set up our own mini
enterprise within the school boundaries. The coursework describes how
a group of 14 girls from Chily High School for Girls got into small
groups of about 14 pupils and set up their own business. The aim of
the coursework was to help us understand how a business is run and how
it functions.
In order to raise capital for our business every member of the group
contributed a small amount of money every week. As long as they all
gave equal amounts of money they would then get an equal share of the
profits or loss's made.
The partners in the business had to understand a number of things
about running businesses, such things like the nature of marketing,
business factors, and business in its environment, internal
organisation etc. they also had to be mature responsible people who
was willing to contribute time and effort to the business.

Business Plan

In order for our business to be successful we had to do a number of
things so that it would run smoothly. Our first few meetings played an
important part in this because they were the foundations of any
success for the future of our business. In our first meeting we
organised the role that each member of the group would play. We also
decided on the name for our group, which was quite hard to do because,
no one would agree on one name.
In our business we had we had five different departments, they were
the following:
