Sports; friendly competitions that date even before the Olympics. Traditionally, these sports are activities like boxing, discus, wrestling, soccer and basketball. However, there might be a few new activities joining that list; League of Legends, Dota 2, StarCraft II, and Call of Duty. A few popular videogames that currently have described as Electronic sports these names. Electronic sports, or more commonly known as eSports, is a term used to describe to describe organized electronic game competitions. All Skipper had to say on the matter was “[Esports are] not a sport — it’s a competition. Chess is a competition. Checkers is a competition. Mostly, I’m interested in doing real sports.” (Schwartz) Skipper is not alone in believing esports are not real sports. On an HBO segment called Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, Mary Carillo, sportscaster and former professional tennis player said, "It 's still not a sport. It 's a game." (Makuch) Some, such as Elsa, a writer for Destructoid, a video game news site, say the very name says esports are not legitimate sports. She says, “I personally don 't think that videogames are actually sports. They are GAMES. Call them e-sports, or v-sports, or even "intellectual sports" if you must, but they are not actually sports. Sport requires physical fitness and physical training, and I think that this is the dividing line between "sports" and "games. The multi-billion dollar multinational soft drink and beverage company, Coca-Cola, is currently the biggest sponsor of the esports, within the League of Legends scene. Last year at the Season 3 League of Legends World Championships, was held at the sold-out Staples Center in Los Angeles, Coke announced that they would be sponsoring a new minor league series, called the Coke Zero League, in the ammeter scene, of League of Legends. Matt Wolf, who is the head of gaming at the Coca-Cola Company, said, ““Our partnership with Riot symbolizes how serious we are about the space. Pairing Coke Zero with League of Legends and collaborating with Riot on a new amateur series will bring something special to the players and help elevate eSports to a new level in the world of international sports. “Marc Merrill, President of Riot Games, is a strong advocate of esports being considered real sports.
