This job requires auditing of the contractors that work for the military oversees as well as here in the United States depends on your location. The Pathways Internship Program offers applicants like me the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job training and experience related to the Auditing career field. NYC Ladders for leaders can help me get one step closer to my ultimate career goal of becoming a forensic psychologist. Today, internships are very important for adding experience and setting a person apart from other applicants for the same job position. It is very difficult attaining employment without education and experience. Last year, I received the opportunity to be part of NYC Ladders for Leaders and it gave me valuable work experience working in a field involving forensic psychology. My internship began with a short orientation of KPMG’s office located in the Wells Fargo Building of downtown Minneapolis. After some introductions and a few training sessions that outlined what was expected of us in terms of the rules and laws we were required to follow including disclosure of client and firm information and independence affidavits, for example, we were briefed on our trip to Orlando for National Internship Training which would take place the following work day. Training for Partnership-focused federal tax interns would last a whole week filled with events and educational seminars that would introduce us to tax fundamentals and software tutorials that would be helpful during our time with KPMG. National Internship Training would be the primary training session for every KPMG intern in the nation, hosting thousands of interns assigned to all pillars of accounting (audit, tax, and advisory). The decision to enroll in graduate school came after considerable time and soul searching. While contemplating the decision to return to school I thought about life, school and work. I realized that my experience in these areas have prepared me for the challenge and I am going to succeed.
Among the sterile field of the cardiac catheter laboratory, a student is observing over a cardiologist’s head while a surgical technician narrates their role in the standard ablation. This is just one of the many pivotal experiences that a student in Liberty High School’s Allied Health CTE program can expect. The student is on a path made available by the Western Maricopa Education Center and, if followed properly, that student can expect to graduate high school as a skilled worker in the medical field. Allied Health is just a small portion of a much bigger picture that provides ever growing opportunities to high school students prior to graduation.

Since starting my nursing career at Penn, my commitment to primary care across the lifespan has consistently been reaffirmed. While the accelerated nursing program has challenged me, I utilize outside resources when necessary while building upon proven personal strengths and learning strategies. This approach will help me succeed through the family nurse practitioner (FNP) fast track program and as I become a leader in my field. YWCA’s Youth Mentorship Program (YMP) is designed to promote positive youth development and leadership while combating issues leading to increased drop‐out rates, teen pregnancy rates, and juvenile detention rates facing the enrolled youth in the program. YMP’s strength lies in its unique family‐oriented atmosphere. Mentors act as role‐models and tutors while interacting with the families of each participant in order to provide the best possible service to each youth. There are several preliminary requirements that one must undergo on their journey to become a teacher. When applying for the initial certificate to become a teacher, you must follow the Pathway designated for the Approved Teacher Preparation Program. This pathway is developed by the New York State Education Department. There are numerous pathways constructed to outline the necessary requirements on becoming a teacher. One must be dedicated, devoted and committed in order to successfully accomplish their goal of obtaining this certificate and to become future educators. The requirement for The Pathway for the Approved Teacher Preparation program initially starts off with the students being recommended for the certification by their college.
Some of the limitations that I felt myself come across is that as an intern I was not able to follow up with my case load as much as I would have wanted. For one, my program is outpatient community based, meaning most of my interactions were at his home with a social worker because we are not allowed to use government vehicles to make home visits. This was difficult because I was not able to gain full rapport with my client because there was always an extra set of eyes that was also interfering with the process of rapport building. My other limitation was that I was only available two days a week which made it hard for me to be there as his case manager given the fact that he was in crisis a couple of times.
During my first week doing my internship at Department of labor of Veterans employment service (VETS), I was super excited to start because I know it was going to be an incredible experience working at a Federal government setting. In my first week being in the office I had to get all the paper work ready in order to be able start working for the government. For example, they will have to do a background check and copies of two of my personal documents. Furthermore, I had to do online questioners that is called E-Quip of which I had to create a password and username and also answer multiple questions about my background information and all the jobs activities that I had worked before. Business internships are helping students gain real world experience while they are not actually out in the real world yet. Internships are becoming more and more popular with college students in today’s world. An internship is basically when a student in college goes to a company or business and works while they are still enrolled in school and still getting academic credit. The main purpose of the internship is for the student to gain valuable on the job work experience. But there are also other things that a student can get from internships. Internships help the student decide whether or not this line of work is correct for them. Since the student works in an occupation in which they are highly interested in it really helps them get a bigger picture of the outside world.
Initially when I was looking for an internship, my goal was to find one that complemented my double major in criminology & criminal justice and psychology. During my search, I found some reputable organizations, but quickly discovered that they either required an extended training/orientation period or were not compatible with my schedule. Thus in finding the Urban Education Leaders Internship Program (UELIP) of the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), which primarily focuses on an interest in education and public policy, I was skeptical that my interest in criminal psychology would be met. However, I quickly learned that this was not the case. Not only did my internship with DCPS indirectly appeal to my major, but it also provided me with a valuable experience in which I acquired fundamental skills and learned more about myself.
In particular, it was helpful to here from individuals on the panel that were graduates from our program. Elizabeth Cowart, a LPC at Transitions of Augusta, informed my classmates and I about about her personal internship experiences. She noted four key things (1) the importance of getting as much hands-on experience as possible (2) taking a mental note of the what you like and dislike at each internship site (3) using weekly supervision hours to discuss your areas of strengths and weaknesses and (4) remembering to always maintain a professional image. In addition, she also gave a brief overview of opportunities (e.g., adolescent group therapy, child and parent therapy, disability evaluations, etc.) that interns might have at Transitions of

Through all the experiences gained from this internship, it has provided skills such as multitasking in a fast paced office setting, keen organizational skills, and improvement on communicating in a professional workplace as well as the ability to handle situations as they arise.
