Is the Womb Dangerous for African Americans? Analysis to an ad by THATSABORTION.COM, the womb is the most dangerous place for an African American : the ad is attempting to inform and stop African Americans from getting abortions. This ad seems to want to persuade african americans to not want to get abortion which is good in my opinion, but the way their going about it is all wrong. The ad was published back in 2011 in Missouri. After reviewing the ad I noticed that there is a young child in black and white with a look of concern on his face and he seems to be looking right at you. The ad has a light blue background and words in large yellow font with message “ The Most Dangerous Place for an An African American is the Womb.” The ad also displays another smaller message in black “Over 37 % of Missouri’s abortions are performed on African American, who comprise 12% of our population.”I placed a picture of the ad below:

Abortions are done on all racist for various reasons and should not just gear an ad towards one race. There are so many other dangers in this world and womb is not the most dangerous place, even after we are born there are dangers we face everyday just walking out our door. We face health issues, violence, and weather all factors that can cause death. Who is to say if abortion was abolished and no one received abortions anymore that any of the aborted babies would have survived after they were born. It could be more to an abortion than just wanting to get rid of a child. The child in the womb could have had a life threatening disease and might not had made it to birth. We never why someone might need to get an abortion. Discrimination will not get anyone anywhere in my opinion it only makes people upset and it does not teach lessons and will not stop african americans from getting
The pictures used in the ad, cover many common areas used in political campaigns such as pictures with school children, construction workers, factory worke...
The ad is called “Someone waits at home, Don’t drink and drive.” The ad is about a guy
Keeping with the legacy of American history, the African American family is a topic of controversy and concern. While other aspects of the family are studied, it could be argued that the area of African American motherhood receives the most attention. Unequivocally, African American mothers are depicted as matriarchs, crack-mothers, and welfare queens. In addition, Black mothers are often portrayed as lazy, irresponsible, destructive, and even worthless. These stereotypical images of African American mothers are important because they have powerful implications for African American moms, and for their families at large.
How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live and have a future? You wouldn't have the opportunity to crawl, take your first step, have your first kiss, or experience those butterflies in your stomach at the sight of first love. Millions of special moments, a life, shredded to pieces. This is essentially what abortion does. Abortion is not the answer in the case of an unplanned pregnancy and needs to be stopped! First of all, abortion is a type of unnecessary murder that occurs in inhumane ways and cannot be tolerated. Moreover, there are alternatives to abortion and many families who are looking to adopt. Lastly, the side effects of abortion can cause life threatening health risks to the mother. Excuses will always be made, but the bottom line is that abortion is not acceptable and should be stopped.
African American Hardships During pre-colonial African kinship and inheritance, it provided the basis of organization of many African American communities. African American men were recognized for the purpose of inheritance. They also inherited their clan names based on their accomplishments, as well as other things when one died. Land was not owned in many parts of Africa during the pre-colonial period. It was yet held and distributed by African American men.
Abortion, like any other medical procedure, carries some risks. When one considers, however, that “the risk of death associated with childbirth is about 10 times as high as that associated with abortion” (“Know the Facts”), the threat of abortion suddenly does not seem as perilous. Additionally, contrary to popular misconception, abortion does not contribute to future infertility or development of breast cancer. It is therefore safer and more prudent to have an abortion than an unwanted pregnancy.
The reason behind my thinking of the ad with the victim as the main point is that the image is right in your face the second that you see the ad. You see a person missing half of their face
The advertisement portraits children baring horrible facial bruises and cuts. some children look as if they have a broken nose, while others with severe looking bruised eyes. The ad has a caption that illustrates the relationship to their mother 's features.
Abortion has been a hot topic of debate for many decades and will continue to be controversial because no one will ever agree on a common ground. Women have abortions for various reasons. The number one reason why a woman would have an abortion is because they feel as though they are not emotionally or financially ready for the responsibility of raising a child. Many people would argue that abortion should be illegal. Aborting a fetus in their eyes is considered murder. “Before the Supreme Court’s landmark Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion in 1973, some dedicated and well-trained physicians and other medical practitioners risked imprisonment, fines and loss of their medical licenses to provide abortions”( OBOS Abortion Contributors 2014).
You would sickening form the thought. God has given you the precious gift to bear a child, why harm this precious gift. Children are not asked to be here; we create and bring them here. My mother always told me, you women enough to lay down and make a child be women enough to take care of the child. She believes that once a child is conceived there is no such things as abortion. You never know the potential a child may have on this Earth. Once, you become pregnant, that child destiny is already prepared, the creators has given that child purpose and meaning for their life. After, seeing the presidential election, who’s to say that a child that have been aborted, could have been in the race, and a far more compelling than the others. For, example Simone Biles is Olympic champion whose mother gave her up at the age six, due to drug related problems. Simone was later adopted by her biological grandfather. If Simone mother would have aborted her because she couldn’t care for her, then the world would have never seen such an inspiring African-American teen. Since, Simone mother was smart and loved her kids she gave them to her father, who she knew would do a great job of raising them. She has become one of many adopted kids to make a drastic difference in this world. So why take a child’s life away when you can simply give them to someone who can care for them in many ways you cannot. If you get an abortion you wouldn’t know what the child must offer, by giving them up for adoption, you can still have the choice of not knowing what the child must offer
Women get abortions for personal reasons. Weather its because she just doesn’t want it or she got pregnant out of rap and doesn’t want to bear the looking at a child that brings back pain of the night she had to endure the worst night of her life. Step in to her shoes. In the article written by Fernandez explains abortion should be legal because its more than a abhorrent judgment.
Most of the time, when an advertisement is made to be racist on purpose, it is done so for the sake of humor. However, to the people that are affected by racial discrimination, it remains incredibly hard to view these advertisements in a humorous way. A source from Desginmatic.com says, “The idea that racism in advertising can be of good may be laughable. However, there’s a major difference between the multicultural marketing practices of the 1920s and today’s racial stereotyping in advertising” (desginmantic.com). This is basically saying that although today’s advertisers believe that we still live in a culture in which advertisements like these are actually acceptable and humorous, they need to realize that we do not and that these advertisements are not only unamusing, but they are extremely insulting as well. The effects of racism are often one
Outlawing abortions has many consequences ;women lose their financial independence ,safe medical facilities, and their personal choice to choose what best for them in their private lives . A lot of anti-abortionist fail to realize that abortion isn't an easy choice for a woman, but is labeling her as a murder really necessary? During the first few stages of pregnancy a baby is considered an “Embryo” ,which is basically a potential human being ;undifferentiated cells that exist as a part of a woman's body. Therefore , if the pregnancy is terminated in the early stages ,this concludes that this is not murder , it's a woman choosing what's best for her and her future. Women should be allowed to control what happens in their personal lives .“The
Since only women live with the results of an unwanted or unhealthy pregnancy it is biased to criminalize abortion and punish women for undergoing the procedure. Motherhood typically limits resources to education and employment as well as other areas of life. Forcing women to become mothers places us in a submissive role in society further strengthening the inequalities women face in economic, educational, and political life. Whereas, abortion allows women to participate equally in society because she can choose when she wants to enter into motherhood. Laws that deny access to abortion effectively remove women’s ability to make decisions about her own body and life and keep women from equally exercising her human rights and fundamental freedoms. This is similar to denying women from making political, social, economic, social, and cultural decisions. Society never makes any attempts to control men’s bodies the way they do women. Abortion has made women equal by giving us the chance to manage our own bodies. Abortion restrictions are typically shaped after enforcing stereotypical sex roles of society, therefore they should be
It became an Internet sensation and expeditiously became one of the most verbalized about topics at the time on Twitter. What brought it so much attention to it was the very different style that the ad showcased with series of Moms singing about losing their children to manhood, but as for my experience and many others, there were very comical moments throughout the advertisement that made this ad into something very different than others. The mothers were singing perpetually throughout the advertisement and following their sons around with their girlfriends and seem to be having an arduous time with relinquishing their boys. The components that are creepy to most people is one part where a mom elevates out of the couch and slithers to the other couch dejected over her son’s incipient life. Another is where a woman’s head pops out of the sand while the son and his doter are on the beach. One mother hangs on to her son’s car while riding in a laundry basket, while another disguise herself as the school janitor with a mask frighteningly reminiscent of Michael Myers. It is understandable after considering the details of the ad that this could be very creepy. The main and only musical composition of the advertisement was engendered to be catchy because it most definitely is. It has a nice soft rhythm and flows together
