Throughout time many people and research have implied that childhood experiences shape your adult life and behavior. They say depending on the type of childhood or life experiences you had as a child you would become molded by it. As someone that went through a lot of life changing experiences as a child I would have to agree with the statement that childhood does mold you into the person you are as an adult. You can definitely escape from it if you wish to do so but, no matter what you do it does affect you and your life in the future. I believe that most childhood experiences change us in a good way even if the experience may have been a bad one.
First and foremost, our experiences that we had as a child defiantly changes and molds us into the person we are today. From my own experiences I can say this statement is true. I was born in Cuba, my dad, brother, and grandparents left Cuba when I was only one year old. Only my mom and I stayed back. It was only us for about 6 years until we came over to the united states as well. When you grow up in a country like Cuba you must mature very quickly. Technically I was already the man of the house by the age of six. I had to help my mom out on pretty much everything since it was just us two. I believe even those types of experiences can help you become a better person in the future, it all depends on yourself and how you handle it. You can let it change you and get consumed by it or act on it and become a better person later in life, even this changes who you are. You see this in everyday life, there’s people that had terrible childhoods and came from really messed up past and now they are very successful because they learned from their past and overcame

By the time they have reached the age of 16 and up, they most likely have already decided or already have become the kind of person they want to be. In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird, many themes are discussed throughout the story. The most significant theme is how over the course of the story, Jem and Scout slowly mature after specific events, and realize the reality of good and evil. Along the way, they meet Tom Robinson, a black man who is convicted of raping a white girl, who plays a major role in the story. Mrs. Dubose, a senile grumpy woman, shows what “real courage” is. Arthur Radley, known as Boo, is a recluse who is said to have tried to kill his father. As the events unfold, Jem and Scout are hit with the reality of racism and social inequality, but most of all, how good and evil play a role in people’s minds, and hearts.
The novel of Cather in The Rye portrays the protagonist Holden Caulfield’s internal conflictions in dealing with the loss of his innocence in facing towards the ideals of adulthood. Subsequently, the loss of his younger brother Allie impinged Holden’s future actions in attempts of preserving the memory of his brother along with his innocence. Holden creates mental illusion as to how or why the idea of elusion in adulthood is best. As his own way in dealing with his long list of afflictions, Holden responds with irrational actions of immaturity and hostility. Holden then creates this untouchable barrier that prevents people from getting close to him. A single incident that tore down Holden’s façade of being young minded was one with Maurice.
During my transition from childhood to adulthood, I have learned and accomplish many things within my education, community, and family. My transition from childhood to adulthood education made me come into reality that everything can’t be done for you and that you have to stay more focused and organized if you want to be somewhere five to ten years from now. My growth in the things that I do in my community such as church and basketball summer leagues made me realize that it is all right to participate and help out for the positive things in my community. It is through the events in the journey of life that shapes and molds who we are as people. As for me, immigrating to America was one of those milestones that have shaped who I am. Those who have had the opportunity of moving from a different country to America know what a privilege it is. I felt the same honor to know that I would be journeying to the land of opportunity. Without hesitance, I spent the last two months packing and making the final preparations before moving to a new continent. Although it was a bittersweet time, leaving my beloved family behind, I knew that I couldn’t resist the treasure that waited for me in the new land. A childhood is the delicate phase of every adolescent's life where they must mature into their own person, with their own responsibilities. Although every individual will eventually bloom with their own personality, morals, and perspectives, the education and values we learn and see along the way add to the fingers that mold. We begin when we are born, and are taken in by strangers. These priceless people show us love, and just how strong attachments can be. Family ties snare us in their loving webs and become the support network to catch us throughout our youthful falls. During young adulthood, range from 18- 40 years old, life is quite busy since people are always on the run. It is easy to say that many people do not think what they eat before they eat. Perhaps, it is because of the busy life during young adulthood that has a huge impact in our diet which can be detrimental to our health. In addition, many people have to go to work and school and they end up having little or no time to eat. In this case, they run to the closest fast food place and order something that is not very healthy. Childhood and adulthood are two different periods of one’s lifetime but equally important. Childhood is the time in everybody’s life when they are growing up to be an adult. This is when they are being considered babies because of their youthfulness and innocence. Adulthood is the period of time where everybody is considered “grown up,” usually they begin to grow up around the ages of eighteen or twenty-one years old but they do remain to develop during this time. However, in some different backgrounds, not everybody is not fully adults until they become independent with freedom, responsible for their own actions, and able to participate as an adult within society. Although childhood and adulthood are both beneficial to our lives, both periods share some attributes such as independence, responsibility, and innocence that play distinctive roles in our development.

I strongly believe that everyone’s childhood is reflected in their adulthood. Wearing the same dress every day for a year and being born a stubborn child has molded me into the young woman I am today. Talking a lot and taking in what I learn has helped to develop strong opinions and morals that help me in making decisions every day. I am proud of who I am and where I come from.
In 2001, there were 6,600 children surveyed to see if the expectations parents held for their kids had an effect on their future lives (Gillett) (BE10). Neal Halfon, a professor from the University of California, discovered that 97% of children were expected to go to college (Gillett) (BE11). This study shows the expectations that parents have for their children affects minors later on in life. In my childhood, I thought everything was fun and games and I was immature. As I grew older into adulthood, not only did I mature but I realized just how serious life is. Even though I didn’t have to make hardly any major decisions or take anything seriously in my childhood, I realize now that I have to be mature and make decisions on my own.
