The field of accounting is a field of work where there is the availability of high work demands and work pressures. This chapter puts forward suggestions which can be considered for improving work life balance.

5.1 Work to family Conflicts
The overall results show that women accountants do face this type of conflict whereby their work life intrudes their personal life. This therefore causes work life imbalance and ruins family life.

To combat work to family conflict these women professionals should adopt strategies such as leaving work stress at work by:

It is ‘whatever thing’ that you do just for yourself. There are no rules as such to abide and no expense associated when enjoying “My-time”.

• Keeping up limitations: In order to achieve WLB, it is required to set up restrictions between work and home. This will involve determining what boundaries need to be established and how and to whom they should be communicated

Moreover, the employers should look for proper means and ways to help their employees combating the work into life conflict by improving the work conditions or even changing the work system by adopting policies such as flexible working time, job sharing, telecommuting and also by providing Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

5.2 Family to work conflicts
The findings clearly show that family to work conflict do not have a great influence on the women accountants, however some women reported that they are affected by their family duties interfering their work life. Factors rousing these conflicts should therefore be identified and provided with adequate support.

Management non commitment towards WLB makes it difficult for these employees to balance their work life and family life appropriately. Therefore, management should research well on factors daunting them in implementing WLB policies in the work lieu and they should encourage WLB strategies like:

• Telecommuting: Telecommuting permits employees to work from home and mail their assignment in when they are due.

• Job Sharing: Job sharing is a well-liked alternative that make it possible for employees to balance their work and family lives. This method allows two or more people sharing a responsibility, with each one working part‐time hours.

• Job Redesign: This necessitates evaluating and altering the range and everyday duties of a position in such a way that will inspire human resources and enhancing their WLB.

• Flex time: Flex time give employees the flexibility to choose when they want to work, however, within a specified number of hours.
