Miranda expects her staff to drop what they are doing to cater for her personal needs, she has no boundaries and often makes her staff work before and after hours, for example Andy and Emily staying at work until 10pm every night to collect the book and then having to deliver it with her laundry; this type of behaviour can hamper work productivity and could result in less profit. Miranda is an autocratic leader who’s staff fear her despite not raising her voice once, she fires staff without warning and often gives unveiled threats which can lead to staff quitting or being fired this job inconsistency will lead to less productivity as there is constantly a new flow of employees having to learn new

Andy then has to learn three books of people that will be there so that Miranda doesn’t have to remember, this all takes place a few hours before the actual benefit (1:00:14). As well as Andy who is now trusted by Miranda has to wait for ‘the book’ most nights until 10pm.

There is no perfect job out there and keeping up with changes, rules, and working well with employees is what Barbara did to
Management is the basis of how any given organization operates and how each activity preformed is organized that makes each day possible and profitable for the overall good of the company. Power and responsibility levels are ranked amongst each individuals own skill set, education, and experience level in an organization. Management has many levels depending on each individual company and its size. This can consist of several people answering to one main head of operations, or thousands upon thousands answering to several different tiers of management (Bauer & Erdogan, 2012).
Planning – Employees must plan the use of their time and resources. There are many ‘tools’ available to help with this from simple daily ‘To Do’ lists to more long-term Action Plans or Development Plans. (These will be explained in more detail later).
control to ensure the company is not overextended should a severe economic downturn occur the plan period.
Controlling in management is a function of management that is concerned with making sure that all other functions of the management are put in place and operated effectively. Controlling ensures that it has taken into consideration the monitoring of the output of the employees as well as the establishing standards of performance that will guarantee that the performance of the will always meets the set standards (Spellman,
not having any interest in their suggestions to the employee that thinks they were hired
The third function, leading is the function by which managers are able to implement planning and organization to lead and motivate employees to finish tasks and work. It is important that the employees understand their tasks and responsibilities and this requires the managers to move them through these areas (Higgins, 1994). For example, if employees are not comfortable with their responsibilities than the manager must lead the person through the work process to ensure that it is being done
Organizing is defined as the assembling and coordinating the human, financial, physical, informational, and other resources needed to achieve goals (Bateman & Snell, 2004). The aspect I want to first discuss is how knowledge plays a big role in the organizing function of management in my organization. This is extremely important for organizing an organization because management has to obtain as much knowledge as possible. Here is a quote I will share that I have in my office from management “To know that we know what we know, and that we do not know what we do not know, that is true knowledge" (Thoreau, n.d.). They have to know about their plans for the future, their employees, competitor’s plans, changes in their market, and what to expect from the customer. They also have to try and plan for the unexpected things that happen to an organization. My organization starts the knowledge process by attending a convention called Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). It is a meeting of medical device organizations and customers who are there to preview and review existing and new products. It gives my organization a chance to know what is out there presently and what is on the horizon for our competitors. Baxter Healthcare uses this convention as a steeping stone for planning in the future. They will involve a large amount of management to go around to the different booths of other companies and find out what their products are all about. That gives the organization an idea of what we are up against and what we have to plan ahead for. It is here were organizing comes into play with management for gaining all the knowledge possible to achieve maximum success. It is also a very important function for management to organize ...
“Leading: is stimulating people to be high performers. It is directing, motivating, and communicating with employees, individually and in groups. Leading involves close day-to-day contact with people, helping to guide and inspire them toward achieving team and organizational goals” (Bateman & Snell, 2004, p. 17).
Operational planning is what drives strategic planning goals to a success. On a day to day basis, operational plans are being communicated and decisions are being made. Operational planning is important because it leads to the goals and visions of the organization and by doing that, operational plans must be made daily to keep the organization competitive in the market. Friend & Zehle (2004) discuss operational plans central to the allocation of resources, it uses inputs to scale operations in order to deliver information about all stages of the primary value chain activies and the support of those activities. Without operational plans, an organization would have no way to reach its goals that were set. The market is changing constantly and operational plans help keep organizations making effective
...d realization of the goals; planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating and controlling processes are vital and essential (12manage).
The report highlight’s the essential aspects of the control process. In terms of concurrent feedback as well as feed forward, that companies can use to implement so that they can have better outcomes in terms of efficiency of the business. Consequently the report underlines as well as emphasizes of the many contributing factors of these controls. The authors have contrasting views on the control models of an organization, they believe that in order to create an effective control process, and organization first needs to determine its strategic plans for instance in terms of what it is and where is it going.
Planning can be used to help the organization map out a way to efficiently achieve their goals. The beginning of the planning process should include analyzing of the current situation. From this information the company can determine the goals and start to outline the steps that need to be taken to ensure that the goal will be met. Other planning activities that should be completed are determining the company’s objectives and were they want to be in the future. This will help them to choose their business objectives and strategies. In addition, the company should look at the resources that they have available and determine if they are sufficient to achieve the organizations goals.
Organization is the function of assembling and coordinating human, financial, physical, informational and other resources needed to achieve goals. Without this function, my business would have folded in the first week. I have midlevel managers to gather together my employees, and discuss the plans for the week. Specific shoe styles must be displayed and organized in a certain order. Information must be disseminated to our marketing team so they know who we are targeting and what steps to take to increase our visibility and productivity. Organizing is not something just one person can do alone. For this function to work, it will take the entire team to pull together for us to triumphant.
In order to achieve the goals of the organisation, managers have to set goals and developed a workable plan to complete the goals. Organising is one of the processes to organise people, activities and other resource in a logical way (Davidson 2009). Through the organising
