To be healthy you must have four unsettles ingredients. These four things are eating healthy and the right amount, exercising regularly, sleeping well, and getting the right nutritious vitamins. A child two to eight years old need the same four unsettles to be healthy. The only difference is that they need a different amount of each that an adult. They must eat the recommended intake in each food group corresponding with their age and sex stated in the Canada’s food guide. They must also get daily excurses, with lots of sleep. The National sleep foundation recommends that children one to five years old should get 11 to 14 hours of sleep each night (National sleep foundation, n.d.) They must also get the right nutritious vitamins to help them grow. A good way to achieve this is with a child baste motley vitamin. I will be inspecting the intake of food a child in daycare consumes each day to see if them meet the recommendations set by The Canada food guide. Studying their strengths and weaknesses and how thy can be improved. Austin is a four year old boy; He is still in need of a nap every afternoon. He will sleep for three hours each day, and sleeps 10 hours during the night. Austin has been diagnosed with chronic constipation since birth, in spite of him following the Canada food guide, he still fights this problem. I believe that Austin is at a healthy weight for his age. Austin does not have a good eating habit, he is vary picky with what he eats. I also believe that he is in a food jags face. “This it part of normal development and should be handled casually. Continue to offer a variety of food at meal and snack time, and most children will eventually start accepting other foods again”. (Pimento & Kernested, 2010, p. 2... ... middle of paper ... ...to eat by his caregivers, but he has not learned why he is eating these health foods. Teaching him why he is eating them and encourage him to eat this way, will help him make health chases on his own. Austin is not always as active as a four your old should be, getting him involved in a sport of group would help him become more active, become more social and have more opportunities for new experiences and learning. Becoming more active may also help his chronic constipation. Another thing that might help this problem is for Austin to drink more water thought the day. Everyone needs the same four ingredients to be healthy. The four ingredients are eating healthy and the right amount, exercising regularly, sleeping well, and getting the right nutritious vitamins. The age and sex of each person is a factor in how much of everything you need to consume in a day.
The boy is suffering from Marasmus which is a chronic malnutrition caused by the deficiency in both the energy and the proteins. Diluting the formula causes the dilution of the nutrients it contains as well. So feeding your baby a diluted formula would cause him to not get enough protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals, which are essential for the normal growth and development for the baby. Since the boy not consuming any solid foods or breast milk
As labeled on the estimated daily calorie needs for adults chart, I am an active man under the group age of 19-30 years old. As per mentioned on the chart I need 3000 calories per day to remain healthy. After looking at Canada’s food guide, I became aware about the recommended number of food guide servings per day for various age groups.

The Canadian Food Guide1 is an important health promotion tool, as long as it is adapted to the sociocultural context in which it is used. This is crucial for the First Nations, which are struggling with health problems related to nutrition and whose traditional eating habits must be taken into account2. Drawing deeply into their values and culture, Atikamekw health services have developed their own Food Guide (AFG) in 1998. For ten years, it was the main tool used by health workers to teach basic principles of healthy eating.
Children between the ages of 8-12 are defined as being within the developmental stage of middle childhood. At this age, the rapid development of previous stages has decreased and the physical changes within this period are slower and more defined. The refinement of gross and fine motor skills is a critical aspect of this stage as the delayed or retarded development can have significant impact on the areas of cognitive, social and emotional development. In order to ensure children are equipped with the correct knowledge and understanding of health, well being and healthy eating, the period of middle childhood is one in which these aspects are incorporated and failure to properly do so can result in long term ramifications and problems.
Suzy is a 5 year old girl with Cerebral Palsy (CP). She has recently entered Kindergarten, where she is receiving early intervention services. Suzy’s teacher has noticed during snack that Suzy shows little interest in most of the foods the other children enjoy, such as animal crackers and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. After several weeks of picky eating and food rejection, the teacher suggested the parents look into the matter further, as she was worried about Suzy’s nutritional needs being met. Suzy’s parents took her to their Primary Care Physician, who suggested an evaluation by a Speech Language Pathologist. Although picky eating is not uncommon for young children, it can have adverse effects on growth and development if not addressed early (Justice, L.M., 2014).

According to healthpromotion.ie healthy eating is about having a balance diet that contains all different types of foods from each food group. When eating the right amounts of food from each food group you get all the nutrients you need to stay healthy and have a good healthy weight. There is six main food groups that are recommended to have daily:
The patient may no longer be able to orally take in food, and the artificial means of feeding may worsen the patient’s quality of life. The concept of food cessation is often difficult for the patient’s friends and family to understand and accept, especially because food is essential to life, and eating is a sociocultural experience. Family must be reminded that to feed the patient may do more harm than good. However, until the time that oral intake stops, nurses must be providing other ways to increase the patient’s nutrient intake. The performance of symptom assessments and the development of plans of care should begin at the time of diagnosis and continue throughout the remainder of the patient’s life. These assessments and plans of care are both critical to preventing the onset of early malnutrition and to maintaining the patient’s quality of
I remember quite vividly how he would react at meal times because he thought he was getting less than the other children because of the shapes of the cups. There were three other children at the house within the preoperational stage, but were a little older than he was, so I had bought four cups of different colors and shapes to motivate them to eat and drink, not knowing that there would be a fuss over who gets the most. Each time I fed them, he cried and refused to eat because he thought he was getting less. I tried to explain to him that they were the same quantity, but this was futile; I even re-poured the juices to show him that they were all the same. Piaget says he does not have the ability to conserve. The concept of conservation refers to “the idea that the “amount” of some substance stays the same regardless of its shape or the number of pieces into which it is divided” (Osborne, 2015). Hence, despite the fact that I tried to make him understand that the cups all hold the same amount of juice, he remains perfectly comfortable with his reasoning. But with time (as he grows older) and more experienced he will eventually realize the similarities and differences and change his way of thinking to correspond with the new findings.

A child’s proper growth depends greatly on their nutrition and health. A healthy diet is essential to the developing child. Food should never be used to reward, punish, or bribe a child. Instead children should have three healthy meals with snacks in between. It is also important for children to have good self care behaviors (including bathing, washing hands, brushing teeth), and adequate sleep.
Proper nutrition is one of the most essential elements to being healthy and living a long life. People deal with food every day, and food has been a part of life since the beginning of civilization. What we eat becomes our diet, and our diet plays a major role in deciding how healthy we are and how well our body functions. Without proper diet, our body cannot carry out the functions it needs to perform. Most people have some common knowledge on what is good and what is bad for the human body to consume. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains are some common items people think of when they think of healthy foods. However, it is not enough just to know what foods are good for your body, it is also important to understand why certain foods are good for you and what they do to help the body function.
