Consumerism
We live in a society where we need to buy items, use purchases, throw them away, then buy them again. This is consumerism. Such a cycle helps the economy to flourish, but if people lose this opportunity for various reasons, the economy fails. In the 30s, an advertising campaign was created that called for people to contribute to the development of the economy by purchasing factory products. At first, people paid cash for their purchases, but later they began to take the goods on credit. Thus, producers were able to sell more goods that contributed to economic growth. The government supported such a system, because the income from the tax grew. Consumerism was a great solution at the time, but now it also has several problems, such as changing human values and environmental degradation. …show more content…

Society split on rich and poor people. Also, we can observe how people buy more and more, hoping to get some pleasure from shopping, or thinking that this thing will bring them happiness or satisfaction. Often people buy too much. As a result, people take loans which they cannot pay later. Having unpaid bills, a person can experience constant tension and anxiety due to the inability to pay all this.
