Holiday seasons are the most stressful time of the year! Once Halloween is around the corner, Thanksgiving is not too far away, and as soon as you know, Christmas and New Year’s is here! When it is time for Halloween, Thanksgiving is being promoted in many different stores and Christmas songs have been playing all throughout the radios. There are times where I would wonder what happened to a specific holiday because stores tend to skip specific holidays to make more profit from consumers. Many people tend to worry about preparing for family dinners, having all the presents ready for Christmas day, and finishing all of their shopping before it is too late. Since there is a lot for us to accomplish, a lot of us tend to pack everything in our schedules to finish what we have not gotten to start. There is overwhelming evidence that daily stress may be harmful to the overall health of humans (Cohen, Tyrrell, and Smith, 1991; Glaser, Rice, and Sheridan, 1987; and Schleifer, and Keller, 1991). The mechanism by which stress influences health outcomes is thought to involve the immune system.
Everyday interactions with people, the environment, and even minor stressors all pile up, creating an overload of stress for the individual which slowly takes a toll on their overall health.
With the end of October and the beginning of November, two historically celebrated holidays come to pass. Each holiday has been celebrated for centuries, and each one continues to have a large impact on society. Interestingly, they developed in two separate civilizations from different hemispheres and occur around the same time. The two distinct holidays of Halloween and Day of the Dead both share similar origins and a focus on spiritual aspects and yet have still remained unique celebrations that continue to largely impact culture.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday time together with my family because it is the one time out of the year in which my entire family from all over the country comes together, to giving a feeling of unity. I walk into the kitchen to a smile from my mom as she reminds me to wash my hands. It is not time to eat yet, but just as every other year, she hands me the fresh green beans to help her prepare the last dish, the green been casserole. The dish often does not hold significance to many but depicts a symbol of unity as I reflect on the times with my family. For some, a casserole can date back to mark a period of struggle in American history, but the idea of a

Holidays are the most stressful money wise. My parents have to spend money on food and a ton of presents. It’s hard to enjoy the holidays when you are stressed about all the money you are spending. Christmas is the worst. I have
