Children. Children are universally loved by all humans. Why then is our school system designed to manufacture them like products. Just like a factory produces the same car over and over again, schools put children through a production process which values quantity over quality. This results in our children getting a poor quality of education even though the technology and ability is already there to provide a personalised and high quality experience.
School should be designed to prepare children for the real world. With society changing so much under the influence of technology, one would think that education would change as well. However lots of our ideas and methods of teaching are outdated and fit the industrial age more than our modern society. All day at school children are taught to listen and follow instructions. This is evident in subjects like

Schools just don’t have enough money to teach every child individually at a high quality, or do they? With the rise of the internet, information is more accessible than ever with free websites like “Khan Academy” and OpenCourseware from Universities. These websites allow you to learn at your own pace with the material which teaches you best, allowing children to have a unique and interesting experience. This means teachers can focus on helping people who actually need help. Instead of falling behind in class when pupils don't understand something, they can ask for help to understand it from a different perspective. Not only does this help people who may fall behind in class but also lets pupils who want to excel to learn as much as they want. Sadly, society does not react well to change. Schools seem to care more about keeping technology out of classrooms, e.g. Phones and Youtube. When we should actually be encouraging it. Instead of removing technology as they are, “distractions”, we should teach students how to use technology effectively and
Education has always been at the core of our society. Education, along with society, continue to not only teach the young community, but model us into so called “civilized citizens”. A civilized citizen, is one who continues to behave and move along the path of human advancement. As a student, the educational systems will teach you the following: what to do, how to act, and how to think. Coming from a student’s perspective, schools are becoming more military based. For example, people within the military wear uniforms. Do all civilized citizens have to wear uniforms? The change in education is not through books, but the attitude of what freedom has allowed in the past years, violence in the school systems.
“Society is asking schools to accomplish two difficult goals: (1) guarantee that every student has basic skills, and (2) prepare an even larger number of graduates for a knowledge-based economy that requires workers who are self-motivated, can solve genuine problems, can communicate well, have the interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and can upgrade their skills by purposely continuing to learn” (Johnson, 2012, p 20). I believe we are setting up schools to fail in this regard and many schools do not have the resources to accomplish this feat. But technology is dominating our society and we need to address it and adapt.
The educational system must keep a certain number of children in schools at all costs. Sometimes the system is not concerned with the performance of the students as long as they are in school. If teachers graded the way they should, the failure rates would be much higher than they are today.
Education remains a cornerstone for society as it has for decades. Technology advances, the economy fluctuates, and politics change, but education remains, not only important but imperative for personal and social growth. Yet, as important as it is touted to be, the quality and purpose of learning is often lost in the assembly-line, manufactured process of education that exists today.
This is due to public school systems continue to follow the same teaching patterns over the years without offering any new learning incentives for students growing minds. What is needed in the educational system is a way to motivate. Motivation lights a fire in a child brain-actively wants to accomplish something helps students better focus, understand, and process the information needed to accomplish their
...sive to keep up with the every changing world of technology. All teachers can do, is to continue to educate ourselves so that we can build a generation of students who will have the ability to compete with students all over the world. If students continue to be trained in the use of new technology, then we will continue to see amazing things happen. The student using their iPod today, may be the one that creates a brand new form in a few years. This is not going to be possible unless each student continues to be properly trained and educated in the use of new and exciting technology.
Educating the future generation is very important the future generation to receive a good education. It very important for the future will become our care givers when we are old and sick. Children will need a steady education to become someone great in the future. Public schools do not have a high standard of education. School funding for public schools do not meet the standard it 's supposed to. Teachers are not paid enough and they just get paid just enough to get by in life. Teachers work day and night to just get a bit of money that is unfair to them. Materials are also needed for students to be successful. In classrooms the students have out-of-date textbooks A bit of Utensils as in markers pencils pens erasers for the year. Classroom are filled with many students per
In an age of rapid change due to so many technology and innovative advances, a revolutionary change in the educational system is as vital as what our next energy source is. Education is the most powerful wealth in the world and it demands more attention, and where better to start with than out youth. The school system will soon go out of date due to the information highway and information availability if there isn?t a dramatic change in the way things are run in our domestic institutional facilities. The reason why college was such a success in the 20th century was because books were all of a sudden available to students on university campus. Now with internet, a student could specialize their profession solely with the computer with the click of a button. Something needs to be done to smoothen the rigid gaps and cracks in the school system before the technological pace at which we are advancing decides to bring the whole thing down.
Schools exist to produce well educated youth that society will benefit from. From personal experience, ill-informed adults make for an unstable, rotten community. Schools hold a big responsibility. They should create a safe haven for students that creates a love for learning, and then also nurtures that same admiration for learning. Schools that students don’t feel safe in usually house students that aren’t interested in subjects that are being taught. They should maintain a well-educated faculty who is all passionate about what they do. If there is a lazy faculty, it will influence the students to become lazy. Schools need to produce the change that this world needs- well rounded, creative, knowledgeable individuals. An effective school in today’s society would have a strong basis on the common core, but make it so that the information is fun to learn. From experience, once the information fun to learn, the rest goes by
Education is a vital part of society. It serves the beneficial purpose of educating our children and getting them ready to be productive adults in today's society. But, the social institution of education is not without its problems. Continual efforts to modify and improve the system need to be made, if we are to reap the highest benefits that education has to offer to our children and our society as a whole.
But why are schools so eager to improve their use technology? And why is there so much importance placed on educating today's students with modern technology? The answer is simple: because technology has such a positive impact on education, and in so
Technology has rapidly changed over the years and has expanded our infrastructure greatly. In particular, as technology advances the education system adapts to the many changes. The world of technology brings about many new improvements and shows no sign of slowing down. Many people spend their day to day lives utilizing the great aspects of technology doing almost anything imaginable. Through technology teachers and students can connect and expound upon the many fields of education. Technology is an ever growing aid in education that has increased awareness, communication, and accessibility. How is technology shaping education? The uses of mobile devices and applications have shown a great influence in the education system.
Present education is now, and we do things differently, like use technology. Technology can help prepare kids for their jobs in the future, it gives the students chances to talk to each other, and it makes the classroom a happier place because students are happy to be using technology. Technology is important in classrooms because one day it will be our everyday lifestyle. We’ve gone over past and present education, so let's get into skills and what kids are
The Importance of Technology Education in Schools The education world has been greatly influenced by rapidly changing technology and the increasing availability of information. Schools have advanced by leaps and bounds when it comes to incorporating technology into the learning environment, however, many more advances need to be made. In all areas of the country, educators are trying to help students keep up with technology, but there are more changes that are essential to preparing the next generation for the future. By increasing computer usage by students, installing classroom Internet access and providing instructional classes dedicated to software and hardware education, schools have tried to provide an up-to-date education for students. This is all very important, but is it enough?
Albert Einstein once said, "As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.". The world around us is in constant motion, ever changing. New and exciting things are happening each and every day. So why can our school systems not seem to keep up? The concept of modern day schooling has existed since the 1800s.
