1. How might different aspects of teams and teamwork contribute to team members thinking about quitting their jobs?
First of all, working on unproductive teams could possibly increase an employee’s thoughts of leaving their current job. Unsuccessful and ineffective teams have the potential of creating a sense of frustration and cause stress levels to increase within the members of the team. Ineffective teams can create a sense of distrust in management or feelings that management does not care about you. In order to avoid these poor management mistakes and downfalls, effective managers must ensure that their employees stay motivated by having measurable objectives (SMART Goals) that dovetail into the team goals. In doing so will ensure that their individual contributions will directly influence the teams’ results. Lastly, they improved on highlighting career possibilities for current employees and encouraged “stretch” assignments. Interprofessional teams in health care are considered to be one of the best approaches to improve patient outcomes. Interprofessional teams provide the means to integrate patient care with input from many different professional disciplines (Rose, 2011). Nurses are an important part of the interprofessional team, since they are often the team member that is closest to the patient (Miers & Pollard, 2009). I recently participated in a team that developed a work flow for daily readmission rounds. The team was interprofessional, the hospitalist, who was an APRN led the team. There was the case manager and the primary nurse who were both RN’s. The team also consisted of a resident, pharmacist, nutritionist, physical therapist, and social worker.
The Varsity team lost to the JV team because they did not work together as team. Though the Varsity team consisted of high performing individuals for speed, strength, and endurance but together they lacked the cohesiveness to perform as a single unit. Also among them there were a lot of internal conflicts cropping up like blaming each other, lack of trust and confidence in the ability of others etc., which were not identified, or resolved at appropriate time. Each one did not believe he was working as a part of the team; rather they tried to maximize their individual capabilities alone. In addition the Varsity team lacked a strong leader, mostly people were disruptors.

My team consists of four other people besides myself, Lauren Chojnaki, Alexa-Louise Patnode, and Jacobe Loewen, and Ryan Tyriver. Together, we are tasked with the mission to complete a stakeholder analysis regarding a specific organization and their structure. For this project to be completed successfully, it is important that all team members are able to cooperate with one another and are able to use their different strengths to create the best end product.

Team Dynamics is how a group of two or more that works together for a common goal. One definition of a team is: two or more individuals associated in some joint action. (Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary (1976). In the business & education world, these joint actions should have some mission or objective that achieves results like a research paper. The research study concluded that the teamwork is positively and considerably connected with job satisfaction and that job satisfaction is also positively and appreciably linked with the workplace performance. The relationship between performance and teamwork is positively associated with one another. Employers may be able to improve establishment performance by increasing the volume of team training and by taking action to raise the performance of the workforce, but to succeed in this they also need to pay attention to the training and teamwork activities offered (Jones, 2008).
Overall company will find it extremely hard to succeed without the support of teams. Work group members will not only help each other improve their performance but also help improve the performance of the business. Teamwork allows them to learn to trust and respect each other; this will come in handy when the business is forced to deal with a loss of a team member or loss in revenue. Creating strong hard working teams will benefit a business in the short-run as well as in the long-run. That’s what business of the 21st century should strive for.
The four main barriers are poor communication, an unclear common objective, conflicting attitudes, priorities and values, and the lack of equal responsibility amongst the team.
It is important that members of a group be knowledgeable and skillful in their positions, the degree to which those members can work harmoniously and cooperatively together is equally important and will form into a high performance team. Effective team management plays a high role in building high performance teams. It should always be a question as to what management can do to actively promote successful work teams.
Companies that have been successful in organizing hi performing teams have reaped the benefits of having appropriate team cohesiveness.
