Teaching Children Accomplishment

‘Teaching children is an accomplishment; getting children excited about learning is an achievement’. This quote is by Robert John Meehan. After reflecting on educational work experiences I now appreciate the impact teachers have on the lives of young people. I now see and truly value the sense of accomplishment that teachers gain from teaching children new skills, and after helping do so within my work experience this is one of the main reasons I am wanting to join the teaching workforce.
Over the recent years it has become more apparent to me that my real interests lies in education; guiding and shaping the lives of young people. One of the huge influences on this is the birth of my niece and nephew, as I have witnessed first-hand their development, watching them advance in their language and skills. As well as witnessing the impact the huge impact their teachers have on them throughout the years. After seeing this I have now understood that as a teacher every day is different and no child is the same and personally for me this makes it the most fulfilling job there can be as not only are you their teacher but their mentor through their early stages of life. …show more content…

Such activities included are given a helping hand at opening evenings for the school. On these occasions my role is to act in positive and polite manner on behalf of my school. By helping out on different events I have shown I am a polite, mature and organised young adult. In the recent years I played the role of a sports leader. As I have completed my level one qualification. As a sports leader I was responsible for organising events, for example a busy badminton event for year 2s.
