Teaching Assistant. I had been a teaching assistant at the Department of Chemistry, Oklahoma State University for several semesters. I was responsible for teaching General Chemistry Labs and tutoring students in their coursework problems. In addition, I also assisted Dr. L. M. Raff in the Physical Chemistry courses. During my teaching assistant time, Dr. Raff informed me the students’ comments that I was helpful to them in their coursework.
Instructor. Even though I finished my Ph.D. in Chemistry, I have a strong background in Physics. Therefore, most of my teaching involves Physics-related subjects. Since joining the Department of Materials Science, Vietnam National University in 2010, I have been the instructor for three courses at undergraduate and graduate levels: Quantum Chemistry/Quantum Mechanics (undergraduate), Introduction to Group Theory and Electronic Structure Calculations (graduate).
Mentoring Students. Besides teaching, I also hold training responsibility. Devoting efforts to promote undergraduate research, I supervised many senior undergraduate students for their directed research, which is mandatory for graduation. These undergraduate students are

For higher-level courses, I usually assign a specific topic (involving material searching, reading, and solving real computational works) to each group of students. I believe that it is hard to digest the physical chemistry and computational chemistry materials, while Google search is a powerful tool which grants access to very specific problems. However, students are not motivated to perform Google search and look for the necessary materials. Therefore, by assigning real calculation problems, students are motivated to look for problem solving sites, such as ccl.net, researchgate.net. Eventually, they acquire the self-studying
My choice to become a part of the childcare profession was not just made casually. This decision was the result of a thought process about what I wanted to do with my life. I finally took a career in childcare because I believe that it is one of the most important duties performed in the community. Within this profession, I hope to find both personal and professional accomplishment. Hence, it is my desire to be a part of a noble profession.
What began as tutoring sessions designed for a child to learn how to solve fractions evolved into the moment that forever parallels my revelation to become a doctor. When I first met Abby, she hid behind her mother and struggled to even count. After this disclosure, Abby began talking to me, her grades improved, and she accumulated several friends. I soon realized that the greatest lesson I taught her was not cross multiplication, but the belief that someone understood her and that she mattered. Additionally, she bestowed me the moment that began my journey to become a doctor. I just had yet to realize it.

After over 15 years of working as a CNA and Caregiver, I decided that I wanted to continue my education in the medical field. In 2013 I took the first step towards gaining a better future with more experience as a medical professional. I enrolled into a Medical Assistant program at IBMC college of Longmont. It has been a long road and I am almost to the finish line having gained essential skills needed to move further into my career. It has been a grueling and eye opening experience for me being an adult learner returning back to school at 33 years of age. I persevered through these pass two years with courage and determination, never letting my short comings get the best of me. As I approach the end of my journey with IBMC I have realized that I have a passion for helping those persons who
Differences in mentoring and guiding styles of the mentors can have a considerable influence and impact on the mentee’s development of the skills and personalities. Through the arrogant and ambitious yet skillful guidance of Dr. Blalock, Vivien Thomas is able to learn how to rightfully challenge conventional theories in order to develop revolutionary changes in science. Additionally, Thomas also gains more confidence in himself and has the courage to stand up against discrimination. On the other hand, I have also learned how to be diligent and passionate about what I do as a consequence of Dr. Cron’s caring and dedicated mentoring styles. In the end, the tutelage and guidance of the mentors can have lasting effects on their mentees’ lives.
Growing up, I contemplated a future in the education field; I enjoyed my experiences volunteering with children and I have always been intrinsically motivated to learn. When I started college, I decided to delve into the social sciences, but I never forgot about my interest in education. The summer of my freshman year, I joined the education team through the University of Arkansas’ community development program in Belize. I worked with my co-teacher (a senior education major), and education and literature professors to create creative writing lesson plans and methods to improve literacy for underperforming children. In Belize, my co-teacher and I facilitated daily literacy skill small groups for 2nd and 3rd graders and taught creative writing lessons with 4th and 5th graders. This experience not only strengthened my desire to work in education, but also awakened my awareness of how different levels of educational privileges affect students. I recognized, however, that while I was energized by this experience, I still lacked the skills and training that would allow me to most efficiently help
When I was born, my family had just migrated to California from Mexico. In a new country, my father worked in landscaping earning less than $4 dollars an hour, while my mother relied on public transportation to take her newborn child to and from doctor visits. In the land of opportunity, my family struggled to put a roof over our heads. But never discouraged, my parents sought to achieve their goals and worked tirelessly to raise my younger brother and I. From a young age, I was taught the importance of education; this became a major catalyst in my life. My desire to excel academically was not for self-gain, but my way of contributing to my family’s goals and aspirations.
Iam a motivated, adaptable and responsible student who has the temperament, key skills and knowledge that are essential for the social work sector, with room for improvement. I have worked in the care industry for a quite long time now as support worker with Richmond council. I look after the physical and mental well-being of vulnerable adults in care. My main tasks are checking each resident’s needs and progress, providing physical care; which includes bathing, toileting, dressing, and feeding. More to that, creating safe and positive living environment, providing one to one counselling or group therapy sessions, teaching daily skills such as budgeting, shopping and claiming benefits.
I have always dreamed of having a career that is fulfilling where I could make a significant contribution. During my freshmen year of undergrad I started volunteering at NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center in the oncology department. I saw how hospital staff worked tirelessly to bring joy and care to patients; each with a unique set of experiences and stories that they shared with me while I volunteered. Even though I had a strong desire to be part of the medical field, my grades in college prevented me from thinking I could have a successful career as a medical professional. Instead of seeking help, I kept on the way I was going, until I was placed on academic probation. I went through a lot of self-reflection and realized that I needed to get my life back in order. I transferred to another college and began afresh with no looking back or sulking. I regained my drive to pursue the career of physician assistant. I continued to volunteer at NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center but transferred to the Emergency Department. It was there that I gained patient care experience and insight into the medical field. I was given the opportunity to shadow Physician Assistant Marina Lev RPA-C at an outpatient surgical clinic, and it was through her that I gained a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed as a physician assistant. Through her work, I gained a glimpse into the future I desired for myself. Through my shadowing experience I learned to interpret x-rays, place splints, and how to conduct a thorough physical examination. The role of a PA often includes discussing a full medical history and taking the time to educate patients. Mattie Stepanek once said that “Unity is strength...when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful thing...
I am applying for the acceptance into the Doctor Business Administration program at Liberty University. My aspiration and love of learning has lead me to pursuit this next step. My desire is to develop and obtain a greater emphasis of researching management and leadership. A DBA will expand my knowledge of what I have already obtained through my MBA. Strong leadership skills sets are the highest and most prestigious aspects of both leadership and management. A DBA can help me to obtain my aspiration of becoming an executive leader. It can help promote my knowledge of the different areas of management and build new skills to apply and adapted to our changing world of business. My desire is to obtain full knowledge of long-term business
My interest in becoming a social worker started at a very young age. I remember always possessing the desire to help people who were in need and have frequently being the person who others have approached when faced with difficult situations. Often, I felt as if listening was not enough. I remember feeling unequipped to help them. When I spoke about this career choice with some of the big influences in my personal life, I was told no matter what situation I have ever been faced with I have always managed to handle myself appropriately in what were, sometimes, delicate situations. Whether these situations were with complete strangers or people I have known for years, mediation, has been something that has come naturally to me. In addition to
Healthcare administration is a field that is often overlooked, but is essentially the beating heart of any healthcare organization. With more and more hospital, and clinics, and other healthcare organizations popping up everywhere there is a need for people like me to manage the day-to-day operations. I am choosing to apply to this program because I want to study how the U.S. healthcare system operates. I want to learn the essential skills of operating a healthcare facility such as managing a budget, reducing healthcare costs, analyzing the efficiency of an organization and proposing ways to improve it. This program is going to give me the necessary education and skills so I can carry out my goal of being a healthcare administrator.
In the article by L.G. Bolman, the secret of a successful team is revealed. The Eagle team went against the grain and defied all of the traditional attributes of building an effective team. The driving force for the team’s success was “power” and; the team used a symbolic perspective which proved that a very effective team could be formed using this method (Bolman, 1992). Each team member was committed to excelling in their individual roles to make the team better as a whole. The Eagle Group elected culture over corporate strategies, which according to our text is always the winner (Bolman, 1992).
Research Assistant is an important job and I am not very confident in my research skills yet, but the first research assistant task I feel I can do is the score and/or code the collected data, enter them into a spreadsheet or statistical analysis program. I feel I can score and code because ever since I watched a soccer or football game with my dad, I always kept saving the scores for each team in my head and keep track of the game. The other research assistant job I like is to conduct literature searches using resources like PsyclNFP,Google Scholar, and Social Sciences citation Index;search my local library database for books and periodicals; make copies of articles available; order unavailable resources through interlibrary loan; organize PDFs; undertake general library research. I like this type of research because I feel that literature expands our thinking
I always have been passionate about delving into the fundamental explanations for mathematical concepts. In high school, my curiosity led me to teach myself calculus. In college, I furthered my understanding by taking a year-long advanced calculus/real analysis course. I spent hours with my classmates discussing proofs and pointing out flaws in each other’s arguments until we agreed it was rigorous.
