INTRODUCTION
This report will discuss the history, company philosophy with the mission statement, code of ethics, community service, and customer service of Tyson Foods, Inc. This report will also cover products and employees benefits, along with some financial information of Tyson Foods.
COMPANY INFORMATION
History
In 1931, John Tyson got his start in the chicken business as a delivery man. In 1935, John Tyson decided to start a business in the chicken industry in a town in Arkansas. It started out as a small, private, family business that dealt with raising chickens. It later changed into a business that dealt with the chicken that is eaten as food. In 1963, Tyson’s son decided to take the company public and it became Tyson Foods, Inc.
Since then, Tyson Foods, Inc. has grown into a huge company. To go along with their chicken, Tyson Foods has branched out into the beef and pork industries as well. Today, they are continuing to grow and improve as a company (Heritage Our Story, 2013).

Tyson Foods has a lot of great incentives and benefits for their employees. They offer many different kinds of insurance and classes to help employees farther their career. They train all of their employees so they know what they are doing and can produce great products. Tyson Foods operates in the billions of dollars and makes millions of dollars every year. They are a very successful business and are continuing to work to be more successful. The company was started in Arkansas, and they are staying to their roots by having their headquarters in the same place. Overall, Tyson Foods is a great company.

Chick-fil-A has become a very successful company throughout its history till today. Many different events have occurred throughout the history of Chick-fil-A. The owner of the first Chick-fil-A, Truett Cathy, opened his restaurant in Hapeville, GA in 1946. Later on the first Chick-fil-A acquired the nickname the Dwarf House. Later on Truett Cathy invented the first chicken sandwich by using a pressure cooker to cook a boneless chicken breast as fast as a burger. Chipotle competitive advantage or Strengths has come from the ingredients that come from sustainable sources. To most consumers Whole Foods is known as a chain grocery store specializing in organic and natural foods. Some may go as far as say the name is synonymous with quality. This comparison is the result of Whole Foods’ marketing their brand successfully to consumers demanding their specialized foods. As with any organization, Whole Foods may consider evaluating their strategic objectives and decide if necessary course corrections are needed to reach their objectives and goals. Through a fundamental and technical analysis, I will discuss Whole Foods’ mission, vision, and goals, their competitive environment, and some factors within their strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat analysis. With such data and information I will recommend, if needed, and strategic changes in order to sustain a competitive advantage.
Arthur W. Perdue’s quest for excellence in the poultry business began in 1917. Perdue started his company as a table-egg poultry farm. He slowly expanded his egg market by adding a new chicken coop every year. Arthur’s son Frank joined the family business in 1939 after leaving school at the end of his the second year. In 1950 Frank took over leadership of Perdue Farms, which had over 40 employees at the time.
