In each department, there are different ways on how a supervisor handles or checks the trainee’s performance. Even though there was no formal orientation with the departments we were assigned to--what we had was a general orientation along with the company’s dos and don’ts--the expectations that my supervisors had for me was discussed once I was introduced in the Products (Dom) department. There was no spoken rule when it comes to how soon you need to finish the task given to you, unless the team deems it urgent, whatever task it is then should be finished within a day or within the allotted time. In my case, one of the strong points that my supervisors said that they noticed was my attitude towards work. Because even though they did not mention …show more content…
They do it so that they know whether or not I am ready to work on a different task, there were times where I get the wrong answer, but I was not scolded or chastised instead they ask me the parts where I am confused about, or if there are things that are still not clear to me. For me, I am thankful that they are patient and understanding especially during the times where I ask a lot of questions. I remember my supervisor said that it is better to ask questions than saying nothing at all and end up doing something wrong. It was another strong point for me that they mentioned, being eager to learn the ins and outs of the establishment and being proactive. Usually when I’m working on sending requests for rates, asking for legal documents and answering inquiries, I type out the message first, making sure that I follow the format (they have a specific format for every kind of email); include the usual elements found in every email from RTC (such as its logo), and add the appropriate recipients in the cc. Before sending it out, my supervisor will check it and until I receive the go-signal, the email would be considered as a draft first. Fortunately, I only had a few times where I had a mistake somewhere in the email. After that,
Samantha Riggi, Department of Early Childhood Studies, California Baptist University ECH 461: Administration of Early Childhood Programs. Dr. Cammy Purper. June 9, 2024. Reflective supervision: All too often, staff members may feel underappreciated or not having the space to develop relationships with directors and colleagues. Reflective supervision is a form of supervision in which a director acts as a guide to support members of their staff with the hopes of increasing their reflective capacity.
For my final placement in early childhood, I was placed in a preschool classroom where my role was to showcase my skills as an educator. I took on my placement supervisor’s responsibilities and managed many of the classroom activities, circles, and meals. On the first day, I met with my placement supervisor and we went over expectations, classroom responsibilities, and curriculum planning. Her role was to supervise me at placement and be there for support but allow me to lead the classroom with the other educator. I expressed my hopes and ambitions for the placement, and together we cooperatively made weekly goals to achieve the requirements set by my program. For this reason, I feel our partnership is an example of a team circumstance. My placement supervisor would check in on me in the middle of the week and she would help me
Communication is a vital component of Social Work as it’s the driving force in engagement and the building of professional relationships. Without effective communication skills, practitioners are unable to find out what the service users, carers and professionals are thinking and feeling, provide clear and accurate information, interpret complex situations accurately or negotiate, mediate and intervene sensitively, authoritatively and appropriately (SCIE, cited 11th February 2014).
I am currently in a leadership position but have often wondered want makes a good leader. From the course I have identified that EQ, IQ, and SQ are the fundamental qualities that make a good leader. I will try and be aware of the needs and emotions of my team and use this to build my team. I remember clearly an example Boniface give us about a company that merged, with two departments that do the same work. The first team leader said to his team all our jobs are on the chopping block because he was worried about his own job while the second
Working as a manager can be challenging. As a manager, you are dealing with a variety of situations and each one requires a unique solution. As a Working Out of Class Supervisor, one challenge that I faced was being in the position of managing my peers. I had to earn their respect and trust to be their supervisor.

Operation mangers should also have the same skills as functional manager but they are responsible in managing day to day operations and they should also possess the authority to hire and fire employees.
At first, meeting up with my supervisor was all about the in’s and out’s of Namaste. So how each court is designed for the residence, and why certain protocols have been created. Now it’s transformed into “chat in’s” at the beginning of my shift and “chat out’s” end of my shifts. This is extremely important because my chat in’s allow me to merge my goals for the day, but also my supervisor’s expectations. For me, one of my goals is to better understand all the residence and learn how best to meet their social needs.
This essay will discuss how I have personally managed some of the difficulties of transitioning between the positions of constable on a shift, moving to the position of a shift supervisor (acting sergeant), returning as a member on the same shift and working beside the same shift colleagues. I will discuss the issues that I have faced, such as the leadership transition, human resource management and how I was able to influence my peers, both inexperienced and experienced. I will reflect on leading and mentoring my colleagues and how this can assist the transition from shift member to a supervisor. I will also discuss the common issues that I have faced when working alongside my colleagues, after the transition from supervisor to shift member.
We lived in a world, where people interact with each other without even knowing that it happened. Each person has their own true personality and a true self-image of one self. Sometimes people reveal their true identity consciously. They cannot see it themselves because they are unaware of what is happening. People around you whom are close to you such as friends and family would be able to see what kind of person are you.
Today is the second session that I had counselor with this particle client. He came in to see me for the same problem that he had before. But except this time client had be doing a little than before. Before I started with the interview I had use the five stages and dimension of the interviews a client. I want to have an empathic relationship with my client, and gathering story and find the strength of my client is part of getting to know my client. This time I had set a realistic goal that my client can work toward without feeling that he is not in control of making the decision. The next is stage restoring finding what is not working now and trying to find an alternative that will work then take the action of letting the client go or
temper their need for public acclaim and financial reward with strong intrinsic motivations” (George, Sims, McLean, & Mayer, 2007).
I learned in this work, first how to communicate in the workplace and the relationship of the manager with the staff. Secondly, one of the most important forms of communication is e-mail, which is one of the fastest forms of communication. Thirdly I learned when I wanted to send a message that should contain one subject and be brief. In the second paragraph I searched for the errors in the email and the third paragraph I wrote an email to the manager and included the problems I encountered in the
On Tuesday, September first I met with my academic advisor, Dr. Ana Londono for the first time. We met in her office on the first floor of Young Hall. She informed me that it was only her third week as an advisor at Lindenwold University. I was a bit nervous after hearing that because my major is Pre-Nursing and I had a lot of questions to ask. One of my main reason of making an appointment with my advisor was to ask when I would be able to apply for nursing school. I took a lot of college credit classes in high school. So Dr. Londono and I went over my high school transcript and figured out what classes I had already taken. Lindenwood has a great connection with Goldfarb School of Nursing. On the Lindenwold website they provide a list of required
