One thing that everyone wants is success. Success is something anyone can achieve, if they put their best effort into it. Success is one of the most critical elements to so many events throughout someone’s lifetime. Although it may sound so simple to obtain, it can actually be difficult. The reason that it could be complex, is the fact that there are so many components to discover success. The definition of success can be different for everyone based on how they percieve the term. To me, success is doing all you can do to try to come out on top. A scenario of this would be during a basketball match, your team is down by 12 points, everyone is running the fastest they can, shooting as accurate as they can, and supporting one another …show more content…
as much as they can. Even with all their best efforts, the team still ends up losing by 2 points. Three big points to accomplish success are cooperation, faith, and self-control. Cooperation is being able to share propositions, information and also listening to others input. If a team has no sense of cooperation, then they won’t collaborate together. If every individual on that team is too stubborn to try to cooperate with others, then they will fail in any kind of competition thrown at them. Faith is one thing that I truly believe is essential. Having faith is a tremendous part of my life, and a lot of my friends. Faith is having complete assurance and confidence in someone or something, for example God. John Wooden was a strong follower of Jesus Christ, and he set the example for his team. By believing in God, gives you more confidence. Knowing that he is always with you and always giving you strength to do all you can is one of the best feelings ever. Praying before every game is one of the best ways to get your team hyped up, because they know that he is there watching, keeping people safe, and giving everyone strength. Another important element to success is self-control. Having self-control is crucial because everyone needs to be able to keep their emotions under control, have common sense and good judgement, and be able to self discipline. The people on the team that get angry over the littlest things, over exaggerate someone else’s mistake, or are overconfident in themselves, are some of the worst people. They never care for other players and only worry about themselves, and that is something that will destroy a team very quickly. All of the other elements from John Wooden’s pyramid of success are still important, but I believe that every player should automatically have cooperation, faith, and self-control, even after high school. In the movie Hoosiers there were many successful things that had happened.
One example was when the character Ollie had become an actual member of the team instead of the team manager. In one of the games, Ollie had been put in because one of the starters wouldn’t listen to the coach so he was benched. With Ollie being so experienced, he was not very good at all. By some great chance, he got a shooting foul. The team was down and this was the only chance to win. He managed to make both free throws! The clock then ran out and the whole crowd ran out there and carried him around. The look on his face was priceless. You could see how happy and excited he was to be able to help his team win an important game, it is something he’ll never forget. This was similar to the state championship game that happened both in the movie and in real life with Bobby Plump, but this game was obviously much more important. The score was super close, 30-30, the final seconds of the last quarter. Bobby managed to drain a 2 point shot and won the game for himself, his team, and his town. Every single fan of the Milan team roared with excitement while congratulating every player. Every one had the biggest smiles and probably tears of joy. To this day, all the remaining players with us on earth still remember vividly of what happened that day in …show more content…
1954. Living in a small town, with a competitive high school, there are definitely ways to achieve success.
One time I had felt success was during my band class, as a percussionist. In fifth grade, I was the only person in the percussion section. Mrs. Lull, my band teacher for that time, had seen that I had the ability to be good. She decided to give me a piece of music that required drumset. Of course, I was terrified. I was the little chubby fifth grader walking over to the high school set up to play the drumset. After that concert a few people had recognized that I had lots of potential. I was a shy kid, still to this day, so I never tried to make myself known. As the years went on, I got better and more and more people saw my ability to play the drums. I have been first chair for four years, got into tri-county honors band and been the Drumline section leader for the past three years. Over time, I had been given the nickname “Legend” by all the upperclassmen (mainly Joseph Skiles), because of how good I am. I have to say, even after all those things I’ve accomplished, I would have to say that the time I felt the best was when Luke Koepf had told me that he approved of me, and that I was second best only to him. That feeling is one I will never forget, I went to bed that night with a smile on my face knowing I made
it. As an individual, you can create success working hard to achieve the goals you have set. The only way to get things in life is to get up and work for it, not sit on your couch and wait for a miracle. With that said, success is not some kind of miracle at hand. Having determination to achieve success is one element that I believe everyone needs. You must be prepared to go through any hardship or obstacle in order to obtain success, you can just go through life “winging it”. To wrap things up, success is a major part for anything in life. To be successful, you must know the elements that are involved. John Wooden’s triangle of success is a reference that more people should look into. It’s just a simple diagram that can be very useful throughout any situation for the duration of your life. Even if success can be difficult to obtain, it’s not impossible to obtain.
Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.

The championship game loss helps the audience, especially young adults with high, aspiring dreams, to understand, that even if you do work-hard and aren’t awarded with winning your goal, this isn’t the end of your journey. It only means you have to work harder in the future, if you want to succeed at your goal. This conclusion shows young children how to lose properly and how to be grateful for what they have, since being good a winning is a much easier task. For like a quote from Colin Powell, “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” The under-class, basketball players learned from the mistakes in the title game, so they could go farther and win next year’s championship, because failure should never be your excuse to not attempt something.
However, I define success as achieving any goal, no matter how big or small it is. Success encourages people to achieve anything they set their minds on. It can be as small as getting an A on a test or as big as being a billionaire. In dealing with success, the sky is truly the limit. Therefore, success should be accounted for anything one does. Additionally, I also define success as being satisfied in life. Success ultimately brings fulfillment to our friends, our family, and ourselves. Achieving our goals brings great gratification into our lives, which everyone strives to receive. Therefore, success is achieving any goal and being content in
Success, noun; the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, the the attainment of popularity or profit. Success is something other people measure for
Success only truly comes with being happy. Happiness and success are the accomplices of one another. Someone cannot have accompanies without the other. Happiness brings success, and success brings even more happiness. Success, in the dictionary, is defined as the achievement of something desired planned or attempted. Therefore, success cannot be judged by anyone than oneself. It is a personal thing. It is the realization of goals, desires or plans made by one 's self. It is not measurable and yet is something we always use to compare others or appraise someone 's worth. Success, in one form or another, is something that someone should always be striving for. For some people it is something they will do subconsciously, and for others it will be something they will constantly labor for. Because success is something that is different for everyone, it is best that they measure their personal success by their sense of self worth instead of others. To have succeeded is to have lived, as someone wanted; ' it is to have lived well and laughed
“Success,” something everyone wants to achieve. But what does it mean to be successful? Success can be defined differently by everyone because we all have our own meaning of what it means to use. For me, success means achieving every goal and dream I desire without letting failure stop me from being the best I can be. When I’ve achieved my greatest success I’ll be financially stable, I’ll have my dream job, and I’ll be doing what I love best; helping people.
The true definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Although, many people have different perceptions of success. Success is judged by the individuals themselves. Success can be defined in many ways including: wealth, happiness, fame, etc. Success can be anything from material goods to concepts. It all depends on your concept and how you achieve your goals. You have to have persistence within yourself. Varying on your profession, you will need a certain skill level. Your definition of success can be suitable best for you, but not for others. It is about truly not giving up, reaching your full potential, and self-fulfillment.
Success is defined as reaching the life goal that is set by the individual. The success brought onto any individual is based on the attitude towards the roadblocks that may occur while trying to achieve the goal. Given the choice to be negative about a situation occurred, giving up is the only choice. A positive attitude is the key to success because success effects an individuals educationally, work wise, and socially. Many may say that having a positive attitude toward success will be a set up for failure, but a positive attitude is an incentive to achieve the goal.
This source showed how success isn't always something that just is a divine gift that is given to a special few, but rather can be taught and learned by a systematic process. By changing how an individual thinks and learns behavior, the researchers in this article believe that you can affect how the individual perceives and defines success. The study also separates the effectiveness this project has across certain demographics such as gender and economic class.
Success can be perceived in various ways depending on the person. In today’s generation, we often associate success with either attained wealth, chosen career, or perceived happiness. However, should success be judged strictly by these few things? “The key to living a successful life is grasping that you are enough,” (Herriott, 2014). Human beings have the unique ability to create their own path for success, instead of narrowing it down to what society makes it out to be.
Success (the opposite of failure) is the status of having achieved. Success is the consequence of having earned a series of accomplishments.Being successful means the achievement of desired visions and planned goals. Life is nothing without success. Life have no taste it there ain't success. We only can achieve success if we fail one or two times. And this is true that failure can eventually lead to success, because we actually learn from our mistakes. In the history of the world, there are many many failure who had lead to success in a way, that we can’t belive. A scientist einstein is a big example for us to learn how failure achieve to success. Looking at our daily, we daily fail our achievement test, but usually a times come when we spark a success. And I had many experiences in my life like that. I am also getting know also how my daliy failure life lead to success.
What is success? How do I define success well it is simple it is a way of completing something the way you wanted to complete it in the first place. When you succeed you finish the goal you set for yourself whether it is a long term or short term thing. You may not know if you completed your task because everything around you is not going how you expected when you first thought of it. It is also hard to tell because sometimes you may not even notice a change at first because success takes time.
Success is an event that accomplishes its intended purpose; “let’s call heads a success and tails a failure; the election was a remarkable success for the All Progressive Congress.” Success is an attainment that is successful; “his success in the marathon was unexpected;” “his new play was a great success;” or a state of prosperity or fame; “he is enjoying great success.”
Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well.
