Recommended: Meaning of success
“Success,” something everyone wants to achieve. But what does it mean to be successful? Success can be defined differently by everyone because we all have our own meaning of what it means to use. For me, success means achieving every goal and dream I desire without letting failure stop me from being the best I can be. When I’ve achieved my greatest success I’ll be financially stable, I’ll have my dream job, and I’ll be doing what I love best; helping people. Being financially stable is one way I know I’ve achieved success. Growing up I’ve seen and experienced firsthand what it is to struggle. My mother was a single parent living check by check barley making enough for use to get by. I know what it is to live in section 8 and needing government assistance, but I also know and learned to not let this become a setback. My motivation for being financially stable is my mother. She didn’t let this obstacle stop her from providing for her kids and realizing this is not how …show more content…
When I was about 10 years old I went to a day care that was also a church and every month they would give out food pantry boxes. Seeing them give back put a smile on my face and I knew this was something I wanted to do. Even those who do back to school drives, can drive, and participate in toys for tots is just amazing. My motivation for this is that I was once in their shoes and want to give back to those that gave to me when I was younger. My family was one given a pantry box because we couldn’t afford to get weeks’ worth of groceries. My name was on the salvation army angel tree when I was younger cause my mother couldn’t afford to get us Christmas presents and she didn’t want us to feel left even thought Christmas wasn’t about the gifts. So, when I’m able to give back to those less fortunate or those going through a tough time in their life is when I know I’ve achieved
Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.
Success is not earning a fat juicy check at the end of each month, or being a part of a large social group filled with fraudulent people that appear as familiar faces. But it is a person discovering him or herself after they had been lost and establishing a sense of purpose that makes them fills them with a warm glowing sense of accomplishment. Success does not have one transparent definition, it has various meanings depending on what success means to the individual trying to achieve it. Success is surviving.
Over thousands of years people have been driven by success, but what is success? Success to me is the ability to perform at your highest level in the path in life that you take. I believe that if you are not driven to be the very best at the things you do then it is not a calling. There are plenty of opportunities in life and you should take everyone you get. Success is a word that is on a broad spectrum, there is no single definition to the word. I define what success is for me. There is no set image of success, success is also constantly changing. The word success means achieving what I want to do in life, and to prosper in the situations my life has put me in.
Hoosiers once said " If you put your effort and concentration into playing to your own potential, to be the best that you can be. . . in my book we are going to be winners". This quotation is relevant to the question of What does success mean to me? I believe success is about learning what you are capable of to achieve your full potential being successful in your life. For you have a better understanding, I will explain success is about being achievable in your own way and being able to see yourself grow in your personal life and perspective of how you see yourself becoming successful. Success is not only about the choices you make to become successful, but about how you approach the way to become successful.
Success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose and/or the attainment of popularity or profit.
To many people success means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. But what it really means is more than just that; is having a beautiful and amazing family of two boys and one girl, and have the best wife. Also, success means reaching my goals or dreams, like starting my new manufactory and insurance business and keep working hard because in order to reach things I must be ready to fall and rise up. But like I said, to obtain where I want to be; I’ll first need to finish college having my Bachelor in Accounting and start from zero.
'One has achieved success who has lived well and laughed often.'; This quote seems to sum up what is meant by success. If you are able to laugh often and much then you have definitely achieved happiness. The idea of living well, though, is a very broad statement. In order, then, to define success in relation to this statement, we must first define what it means to live well. There are three levels of success, in my opinion: societal success, personal success, and academic or professional success. If someone can achieve all of these three levels of success, they are someone who has lived well.
Ever since the times of the BC era, wealth had defined success (Definition of Success). A wealthy person of those times would be looked at as a superior being, they would be someone you’d show respect for. They were successful. Although that's the definition of success back then, does it mean something different now? Like every human being, and every past structure of society, the word evolves with time because society's’ values change. The definition of the word “success” was often considered as the achievement of wealth, but now it has become modernized to fit into today's society. Today, success is thought as an individual doing what makes them happy in life, generally doing their best, or even contributing positive things to the world to make it a better place (What does success mean).
The true definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Although, many people have different perceptions of success. Success is judged by the individuals themselves. Success can be defined in many ways including: wealth, happiness, fame, etc. Success can be anything from material goods to concepts. It all depends on your concept and how you achieve your goals. You have to have persistence within yourself. Varying on your profession, you will need a certain skill level. Your definition of success can be suitable best for you, but not for others. It is about truly not giving up, reaching your full potential, and self-fulfillment.
Is there someone you know that is wealthy and prominent? Do they demonstrate the characteristics of a successful person in today’s society? Media today has effectively convinced our society into accepting an untrue, even possibly hazardous definition of success. Even though Webster’s dictionary defines success as “achieving wealth, respect, and fame,” the definition of success is different for everyone. Society wants us to accept that having money, having big house, and owning multiple cars is the key to happiness, and henceforth, success. This is a lie; success is not having a large amount of money nor does it have to deal with fame.
Today, everybody wants to be successful. Although, what does it truly mean to be successful? The dictionary might try to say that success is the attainment of popularity or profit or it is a person or thing that achieves desired aims or attains prosperity. However, everybody likes to determine what success means to them. But, success, being brought down to its basic roots, will ultimately decide what it really is.
Success may be defined in many ways by many people. According to Oxford English Dictionary, it is, “the prosperous achievement of something attempted.”(“Success”). That is, if one achieve his/her desire or goals, it would be considered as his/her success. But it is true that the definition and explanation varies according to the eye of beholder. Generally, Success means fulfilling the goals that you set for your life. For some, success may be money, big house and a luxury car. However, for others, success may be the happiness they feel after achieving their goal. I personally feel, success is not what is accomplished, but what is felt from
For some it might be difficult to think of someone successful they know; but for me it is simple, the most successful person I know is my mom. My mom has not always had it easy in fact, I’d say her life has been quite difficult, but she’s always found a way around things. My older sister, Katie, was diagnosed with bipolar and ADHD around the age of ten; most mothers may have given up, deciding that the situation at hand was too hard to handle, but mine never did. Instead, she stayed firm in her faith and stuck it out, getting Katie medicated and counseled on a low budget; while also
Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well.
Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
