“ Mom, my friend gets paid for grades, but she looks easily stressed out.” Many people get stressed out with homework, but won’t stop to take a break. “ Well, she shouldn’t feel like that, it’s poor for her.” This shows that students can get stressed out from good grades. Students should not be paid for good grades for the sake of most youth wasting their money on things that are not important, instead of saving it for college. Paying students for good grades is a bad idea considering students lose their love of learning, they waste their money on things that are not important instead of saving it for college, and they get stressed out from all the hard work they have done.

To begin with, students should not get paid for good grades by cause of students lose their love of learning. Edward Deci and others claim, “ Most children are, by nature, motivated to learn… The promise of external rewards, and the children’s natural enthusiasm for learning may be damped. It doesn’t really teach kids the reward of learning for learning’s sake.” This leads to showing that kids can stop loving school, and be more focused on the money, so that their love for school will be damped. The effect of this is kids will hate school even more, sleeping late and less, which is not healthy for kids. Clearly, students lose their love for learning.
